I'll never forget Patel from Streatham Bus Garage called in a mechanical on the G1 (Metrorider) at St. Leonard's Church. Frank the engineer came out and caught him red handed cutting off the fan belt lol 😂
4:50 That bus I'm literally dying to buy, if I had the money and if I was able to. Was a local bus to me, and my favourite out of the batch that Stagecoach Huntingdonshire/Fens had.
@@TransportCambs What do you mean by "if you had the money"? They are dirt cheap. £1500 or so. You could surely save that up in a few months. Do Ebay, gardening, odd jobs, live in a van to save rent. You can easily buy the bus of your dreams if you put your mind to it. Then live in the bus to save even more rent!! Before buses went to Wombwell, they used *smash the absolute crap* out of them with sledgehammers, burn the old wooden body, and chop the frame with gas torches. This was at Rainham and other Thames Estuary breakers. Nowadays, Barnsley pays the best prices. It's just up the M1. Central UK location to buy up scrap buses from everywhere in the UK. That DAF Vanhool was an ultimate coaches motor from barnsley, a driver ran it dry of oil and buggered engine up thats why its there, there is also an Ex Dalesman coaches of Leeds Vanhool Daf Alizee MB230 in Geoff Ripleys somewhere would love to see a video of all around that
At time 4m:01, I can see a BK Barking trident bus. Blimey I think I worked on that one before I resigned after 34 years service. Sad to see it in the scrap yard.
Them Wright single deckers are pure dirt, use to drive them up to Johnny foxes in Dublin mountain, brakes were dirt, engine regularly over heat, horrible seat position and steering, just pure dirt to drive....

its a overflow yard for the scrapyard, they store them there beforegoing to the main scrapyard
Some of these buses dont look in bad nick, they should be shipped to India they would get at least another 10 years out of them!
