I recently opened up art commissions (despite having very little engagement on Insta unfortunately) and when deciding on prices I had a lower and higher set of example prices. I based them on what I saw from artists with a similar style. I sent the examples to multiple artist and non artist friends asking for their honest opinion on which price range they thought was fair, the majority of people told me to go with the higher pricing and to not _undervalue_ myself (including my own therapist who I like to show my current projects to). But the moment I posted it and even though the lack of engagement is normal I got hit with a HUGE wave of imposter syndrome and immediately thought "maybe I should lower the prices? The last years I gave up everything and quit my job to follow my dream and passion, am about to finish my MA thesis (writing it now and I am so stressed) BUT the last couple of months I feel like it's all going wrong and nothing is working out like I hoped and am really scared what will follow. That dont ask too much you know what is right is about having a scientist mindset. I notice that the difference between scientist and believer is that a scientist always doubt themselves, it is like what Socrates,(i think?) That dont ask too much you know what is right is about having a scientist mindset. I notice that the difference between scientist and believer is that a scientist always doubt themselves, it is like what Socrates,(i think?) Said; "once you think you know, you already dont know", source of all wisdom is first knowing that you dont know and want to know. Always make sure that this is not coming from ego, but actually a message. Because I've been dealing with obsessed people and it makes me understand "you are your universe" in the much darker ways. That is why i kept asking the same question over and over again, just to make sure I have consistent answer, because from my experience, consistency is important.
