I was 20 when this came out. I loved it & bought the single. I was in London on a holiday. They were uncomplicated but beautiful times. Watching this took me right back to that time & place. I almost forgot this song. Just magical. The scary part is the lost 40 years since then to now. How quickly those 40 years went. Does anyone else out there feel like me?
Who remembers the juke boxes too? Now it's all TH-cam and headphones. Music is enjoyed privately now - not enjoyed as a group. Not shared like in a disco, dinner dances, or dances held in community halls before where ppl could meet. Now there's no dancing anywhere for ppl to meet. Everyone is lonely. The simple days were the best. We'd wear something flashy to go dancing on the weekend. Dances, like everything else that was good, got done away with. Everyone used to talk about what they were going to do on the weekend. Now every day is the same. Boring days now.

Yes Trevor Horn had to be a genius, as Theresa came and auditioned for our band before she joined Dollar; she was crap. She couldn't sing to save her life.
Ok I don't get why, but this song has just brought tears to my eyes twice running. Maybe it's just how playful and innocent the 80s were for music and the nostalgia is real.
My first crsuh, her not him, and Trevor Horn couldn't put a foot wrong with so much of his productions. amazing and talented producer, still going strong today.
Was in the 4th year(now called year 10) at secondary in December 1981/Jan 1982 when this song was in the charts now approaching 55, man don't I miss those days.
I was at school then too. I remember seeing the video for it on TV especially the bit David and Thereza crashed out of the toy shop window while it was snowing. Funny the things you remember!

@@Kevin-1969 In late 1979, a box set “Ultimate Dollar” was released, 6 CDs plus a DVD; I suggest you try to order it from the Cherry Pop label or special order it from a music store. I only just learned of it from a Thereza Bazar interview; I’m going to try to special order it today from a music store. It has those later singles, too. I played “We Walked In Love” (7” and 12” version) on a college station where even anything that sounds pop is frowned upon, and the 7” on a commercial station since where it could have gotten me in trouble, not from listeners I thought would like it, but from the PD who knew it was not a charter here and wasn’t on the playlist (this is America). I also played “Oh L’Amour” and “It’s Nature’s Way” on college radio, and various early songs. My first holiday out of America, to London, I bought The Dollar Album and singles straight away, and saw them with other performers in Hyde Park, but the only place I saw the first two albums, they had been near a fire and parts of the covers were brown in parts. But the box has excellent packaging and info.

I had a blast back then. The world has gone all wrong now. There isn't a day when I don't think of my friends and places we'd been to back then. It makes me cry. Just nothing is the same. All is long lost now. All gone.
Songs from this era were so uplifting they had an innocence about them truly uplifting then today you have songs like WAP by kadi b or some shite and its rotten absolute filth and how it gets airtime is a head scratcher ....... the world derailed after early 90s in every sense

It's a scary thought that 40 years have passed, and yet I am still, inside of me the same girl of my youth. I don't feel any different in my heart & soul. We are the same ppl, but the times have changed, together with everything all around us. The colours of the past have gone and all is in b+w these days. I can't keep up sometimes. And I don't care to have these days rammed down my throat. For what? My memories of my youth are just so sweet.

And even a class 205 train departing from a station. Or maybe even 2 class 205s 🚆 s passing each other at speed. And all is done by mouth alone. Except my drum kit sound affect impression. Two words: Trevor Horn. The guy is a pop production genius. It helps that Thereza is drop dead gorgeous too.

This gave dollar street credo Trevor horn produced some of their 80s hits.
Their version of I Wanna Hold Your Hand is one of the first pop-songs I remember liking (along with Sunday Girl, and Video Killed the Radio Star).
