That's how I came to discover your amazing channel on my tablet. I've streamed five or six of your videos and thoroughly enjoyed every one. Your filming techniques truly made me feel like I was there with you, experiencing those beautiful woodlands first hand. Once I feel better I shall watch them on my 50 inch TV to better enjoy the scenery etc. You come across as a nice, gentle person who cares compassionately about people and the environment and who searched his soul for answers to life. You express yourself well and you can tell its from the heart. I am sorry to hear you have some pressing family commitments and have had to move. We are all missing your videos and would love to catch up with you. Remember, a problem shared is a problem halved mate. I appreciate that your circumstances make it difficult for you to resume camping right now, but why not do a little 'chat ' video from a local park or your back garden or whatever. Another lovely video Mike. I like the look of the DD tent. As soon as I saw that T shirt I recognized the Pegasus. My Grandfather served in The Para's in WWII and was lucky to survive Operation Market Garden. He passed away in 2016 at the age of 92. Wear it with pride mate. Cheers Lee.

Great to see you out & about Mike. I’m a big fan of DD equipment. I’ve not got any of their tents but love messing around with tarp on configurations. I had quite a chat with DD about superlite camo. Apparently the material is too thin to transfer camo pattern on as it causes problems during the heating process of which the camo is applied. So currently no superlite camo. Hi Dan, heheh yeah to me a review is only worth doing when you've had many outings in whatever it may be, then and only then can you give a proper review and opinions on the kit. This was my first overnighter in the tent so only could give first impressions and my initial thoughts after I'd slept in it. The warm blanket of a new Mike vid - you can't beat it. An hour just flew by, thank you mar mate.. Here's my thoughts, for what they're worth... a) Much as I rate the DD stuff I've not so far been convinced by the multicam which often doesn't blend very well on my own limited camps. This vid proves that it does, in the right terrain, at the right time of year. It's perfect for a UK early autumn woodland floor. And surely that's the point of good camo? It's chosen to match season and terrain. Perhaps there is no such thing as 'MTP' really - nature and the seasons are too complex. But that A frame tent is just 'right' in that woodland at this time of year. And an ace design which you (as usual) explain very well; (b) Snoring - I'm having my first hammock camp tomorrow night, and I'm a famous snorer when on my back. You haven't helped with my main worry! The badgers will be holding a residents meeting about the noise by morning... ;(c) I like my quality meat whan camping but never really thought of duck. I'm sold!; and (d) the yearning for 'something else', 'something more' that you talk about is further proof that you are Romantic in the poetic/artistic sense Mike - you feel that longing for something which you can't even explain as it is above/beyond our experience. You express this beautifully I think, by NOT being able to nail it. The mystery of it is where the beauty lies I reckon. You can see, with feelings like that, why so many turn to religion eh? But with Mother Nature you get a fast track to it. Your vids are one of the best examples I can think of proving this. Long may they continue.
Hi Rich, wow what an epic comment! Thank you so very much for watching. I totally agree about the DD mc, it's quite often not blending in well and the only way to get it to blend better is obviously a lower profile. The thing I noticed about the DD tarps is the sheen they have that really catches light and can make one part of your set up (side facing the sun) look almost white! Yup it's not the best option, cant beat good old dpm or flecktarn in my opinion. Yeah mtp is by far my least favourite of camo choices, maybe down to my locations and it's not suited in any season. Mate what a truly wonderful comment, love your take on 'something else' and you do make perfect sense in what you're saying Rich. I do believe we all shall know everything and more when our individual times are right. Till then mankind as you know, needs to focus on each other and treat everyone equally, with love and respect...This applies to all life including mother earth that is very much a conscious being, and not just a rock spinning in space. I too believe in there being much more than that which we can see and physically experience, think of it as our spirit or our soul. That part of us that we know is there but can't define, the inner self. When we are out in nature, as you have just been, we connect with the basic elements of the universe, we become closer to what we are. That is why being in nature is uplifting and calming, at the same time, it can feed that part of us that is the other dimension you talked of. Nature is that special force that fills our soul and restores our spirit each and every time we spend time close to the soil, surrounded by trees, with the sky above, allowing our primeval self to be as one with mother nature. Another cracking video Mike, rather like this new tarp, I totally agree in regards to that feel of something missing, we have become domesticated, like pets, herded to work like sheep, we all have our rolls to play but i believe without nature in your heart, and in your soul, you will stay lost, we are a part of nature's eco-system, but we have taken ourselves ( or forced too) out of the cycle, hence why we have this sense of not being complete, cheers Craig

I think peace and harmony are reasonable goals, and the more tuned to nature we can be, the closer we come to that harmony. Our workaday lives manipulate us, as you say, often away from our personal goals, but if we do the things we love from time to time, we can reconnect. I've never been able to associate this concept to organized religion. Those memes ring false to me, but to each his own of course. I was pleased to get home from my latest project, cleaning up after hurricane Dorion in the woods I love, which enhanced my firewood pile, to find your video when I picked up the iPad. Bless your Grandad👍🏻 Mate yes a non stick frying pan would make sense but I have kit that has sentimental value to me personally. My USGI frying pan has been with me on many a wonderful wild camp over the years and I simply cannot change for another pan. Done many a delicious meal in that pan, and normally I just use plenty of olive oil to combat the sticking of foods. Yup there's certain things within my kit I'll not change because it's not let me down, even though there may well be slightly better options. Hi Mike, my granddaughter gave me the most horrific cold I can ever remember having, so I've spent the day in bed coughing, spluttering, and nose running like a mountain stream! That's how I came to discover your amazing channel on my tablet.
I've streamed five or six of your videos and thoroughly enjoyed every one. Your filming techniques truly made me feel like I was there with you, experiencing those beautiful woodlands first hand. Once I feel better I shall watch them on my 50 inch TV to better enjoy the scenery etc.
You come across as a nice, gentle person who cares compassionately about people and the environment and who searched his soul for answers to life. You express yourself well and you can tell its from the heart.
I am sorry to hear you have some pressing family commitments and have had to move. We are all missing your videos and would love to catch up with you. Remember, a problem shared is a problem halved mate. I appreciate that your circumstances make it difficult for you to resume camping right now, but why not do a little 'chat ' video from a local park or your back garden or whatever. Judging by the comments, I am sure this would be appreciated by your subscribers.

Another lovely video Mike. I like the look of the DD tent. As soon as I saw that T shirt I recognized the Pegasus. My Grandfather served in The Para's in WWII and was lucky to survive Operation Market Garden. He passed away in 2016 at the age of 92. Wear it with pride mate. Cheers Lee.

Another brilliant video mike you only got to look at all the great comments people say to see how much people enjoy your channel ,really like the way you put a bit of everything into the vid equipment set up ,cooking, quality camera work and always a relaxing chilled way from start to finish , particularly like your deep thoughts I agree defiantly more to life than what we see, I love going to my woodland and laying in the hammock with tarp set up and some pitter patter of rain coming down and just the woodland noises it does so much good for the mind ,I find it totally relaxing. Really touched by your musical ambient landscape scenes - so well created. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings. This will be my first season aiming to have some wild camps, been exploring local forests and had a couple of frosty nights in the back yard in a tiny tent. Great to see you out & about Mike. I’m a big fan of DD equipment. I’ve not got any of their tents but love messing around with tarp on configurations. I had quite a chat with DD about superlite camo. Apparently the material is too thin to transfer camo pattern on as it causes problems during the heating process of which the camo is applied. So currently no superlite camo. Thank you, the tent is good but there's room for updates on it, and the quality control needs to up their game. But then we're all human and mistakes shall happen, I'm sure they'd sew that loop but it's an easy fix for me to do instead.

Hi Dan, heheh yeah to me a review is only worth doing when you've had many outings in whatever it may be, then and only then can you give a proper review and opinions on the kit. This was my first overnighter in the tent so only could give first impressions and my initial thoughts after I'd slept in it.

The warm blanket of a new Mike vid - you can't beat it. An hour just flew by, thank you mar mate.. Here's my thoughts, for what they're worth... a) Much as I rate the DD stuff I've not so far been convinced by the multicam which often doesn't blend very well on my own limited camps. This vid proves that it does, in the right terrain, at the right time of year. It's perfect for a UK early autumn woodland floor. And surely that's the point of good camo? It's chosen to match season and terrain. Perhaps there is no such thing as 'MTP' really - nature and the seasons are too complex. But that A frame tent is just 'right' in that woodland at this time of year. And an ace design which you (as usual) explain very well; (b) Snoring - I'm having my first hammock camp tomorrow night, and I'm a famous snorer when on my back. You haven't helped with my main worry! The badgers will be holding a residents meeting about the noise by morning... ;(c) I like my quality meat whan camping but never really thought of duck. I'm sold!; and (d) the yearning for 'something else', 'something more' that you talk about is further proof that you are Romantic in the poetic/artistic sense Mike - you feel that longing for something which you can't even explain as it is above/beyond our experience. You express this beautifully I think, by NOT being able to nail it. The mystery of it is where the beauty lies I reckon. You can see, with feelings like that, why so many turn to religion eh? But with Mother Nature you get a fast track to it. Your vids are one of the best examples I can think of proving this. Long may they continue.

I totally agree about the DD mc, it's quite often not blending in well and the only way to get it to blend better is obviously a lower profile. The thing I noticed about the DD tarps is the sheen they have that really catches light and can make one part of your set up (side facing the sun) look almost white! Yup it's not the best option, cant beat good old dpm or flecktarn in my opinion. Yeah mtp is by far my least favourite of camo choices, maybe down to my locations and it's not suited in any season.
Mate what a truly wonderful comment, love your take on 'something else' and you do make perfect sense in what you're saying Rich. I do believe we all shall know everything and more when our individual times are right. Till then mankind as you know, needs to focus on each other and treat everyone equally, with love and respect...This applies to all life including mother earth that is very much a conscious being, and not just a rock spinning in space.

I too believe in there being much more than that which we can see and physically experience, think of it as our spirit or our soul. That part of us that we know is there but can't define, the inner self. When we are out in nature, as you have just been, we connect with the basic elements of the universe, we become closer to what we are. That is why being in nature is uplifting and calming, at the same time, it can feed that part of us that is the other dimension you talked of. Nature is that special force that fills our soul and restores our spirit each and every time we spend time close to the soil, surrounded by trees, with the sky above, allowing our primeval self to be as one with mother nature. Another cracking video Mike, rather like this new tarp, I totally agree in regards to that feel of something missing, we have become domesticated, like pets, herded to work like sheep, we all have our rolls to play but i believe without nature in your heart, and in your soul, you will stay lost, we are a part of nature's eco-system, but we have taken ourselves ( or forced too) out of the cycle, hence why we have this sense of not being complete, cheers Craig

I think peace and harmony are reasonable goals, and the more tuned to nature we can be, the closer we come to that harmony. Our workaday lives manipulate us, as you say, often away from our personal goals, but if we do the things we love from time to time, we can reconnect. I've never been able to associate this concept to organized religion. Those memes ring false to me, but to each his own of course. I was pleased to get home from my latest project, cleaning up after hurricane Dorion in the woods I love, which enhanced my firewood pile, to find your video when I picked up the iPad. Ah you do a spot of fishing then, a nice relaxing hobby right there👍🏻 the woodland in the video isn't too far from a river, guess that's why balsam has taken over. Tbh many of the woodlands I get into have been dominated by the plant.

Wow this was just a delightful soundscape from beginning to end. My blood pressure dropped just listening to your voice. In my own feelings I find the Buddhist philosophy resonates most with my own spiritual sense of self and belonging to the universe and everything in it and beyond. I am not a practicing Buddhist or anything. It just makes a lot of sense to me. So thanks for sharing your feelings Mike. Oh and love love that DD tent.

Another Bostin Video Owr Kid. Great Fittle as always, nice versatile looking tent albeit, you ought to get a discount voucher off DD for that none sewn tab. Shows poor quality control and not good for their image. You got your video transitions, music, sound off to perfection. Well done. Mate yes a non stick frying pan would make sense but I have kit that has sentimental value to me personally. My USGI frying pan has been with me on many a wonderful wild camp over the years and I simply cannot change for another pan. Done many a delicious meal in that pan, and normally I just use plenty of olive oil to combat the sticking of foods. Yup there's certain things within my kit I'll not change because it's not let me down, even though there may well be slightly better options.
