      what is puja?

    • @rudedude9205
      @rudedude9205 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@zuzanareacts In the simple words puja is worship that an individual does to please the diety/god. Like in Christianity you pray/worship to the god by reading Bible/prayers.

    • @zuzanareacts
      @zuzanareacts  ปีที่แล้ว

ok - and what is Upasana then - I thought this was worship as well 🙈

    • @rudedude9205
      @rudedude9205 ปีที่แล้ว

@@zuzanareacts yes yes you are absolutely correct 'upasna ' is also worship but it is somewhat more intense than 'puja' . While doing upasna you have a fixed diety whom you worship to fullfill your wishes, on the other hand puja is like daily prayer to the diety . Even more intense than the upasna is the 'anushthan' or 'anushthanam' which involves promising to the diety that I will follow these these rules for certain period of days and will chant his/her mantra for the fulfillment of the wishes.

Deities are the various forms of that supreme god, which is one and only one. In other word, deities are the incarnations of supreme god. In Christianity and Islam , there is no concept of worship of various deities. But in our culture, we believe that the supreme god has the power to manifest him as different deities. So we worship multiple gods. Each empowered with a specific speciality. For example, for gaining strength, we worship lord Hanuman, because it is his domain. For gaining knowledge, we worship Goddess Saraswati. These Deities are also considered a path to the final destination of supreme god. These Deities can act as a bridge between the supreme god and the devotee.

@@honestpetvideos9307 In Indian religions, a rishi (Sanskrit: ऋषि ) is an accomplished and enlightened person. They find mentions in various Vedic texts. Rishis are believed to have composed hymns of the Vedas. The Post-Vedic tradition of Hinduism regards the rishis as "great yogis" or "sages" who after intense meditation (tapas) realized the supreme truth and eternal knowledge, which they composed into hymns. The term appears in Pali literature as Ishi; in Buddhism they can be either Buddhas, Paccekabuddhas, Arahats or a monk of high rank.

Sadhu is who left family and always engages in devotion .
Then sadhu became muni after like 10000 years of practice

Do you know from 3000 year every day in every temple and in every Pooja a Sanskrit mantra chants by sages and pandits, which is a smallest group of mantra from 'Vamana Purana-dated 3500 year old'.
If you read this you can understand the knowledge of sages.
    The mantras are:

    Meaning:
In the early morning I remember The Devas Brahma, Murari (The enemy of demon Mura, refers to Sri Krishna or Vishnu) and Tripurantakari (The One Who has brought an end to Tripurasuras, refers to Sri Shiva), ...
....The Planets Bhanu (The Sun), Shashi (The Moon), Bumisuta (Mars) and Budha (Mercury), ...
... Guru (Jupiter), Shukra (Venus), Shani (Saturn), Rahu and Ketu, ...
May all of them make my Morning Auspicious.

We had a Guru (Hanuman and Durga bhakt), who used to reside at our home, whenever he used to visit our city. He had a siddhi (Shakti or power) whereby sitting at our home, he could transcend to a far off place hundreds of kilometres away (Say a relatives home) and exactly intimate who are there in that house at that moment, what they are doing and so on and intimate is there any negative energy in that house creating obstacles in whatever they does, and the kind of Puja/ worship one need to do to remove that obstacle. We (My family) have witnessed many times as friends or relatives used to come to meet the Guru and ask for his blessings.

Ma'am.. First of all get the fact clear that tantra is not occult... It is a methodology.. A science... Occult is used in negative sense.. It is the practice of invoking Lucifer or the Satan...
Where is tantra is a way of enlightenment.. It is a seperate but not different way of practice. Here in Trantra you perform several rituals to invoke the divine power within you...
And Tantra is started by LORD SHIVA himself...
It is a very sectret yet very genuine and poeerful way of attaining divine energies within you... Then how will use this that is up to you... If you use these powers for the good then you will be blessed by deity.. But if you use it for the wrong then the consequences would be very fatal.. Even causing death of the practitioner...
Tantra... Is like a machine gun.... You can you it for both positive and negative causes..

Then by doing certain things you Chanelise this ojas through your chakras and send it to the highest of them sahasrar chakra and the ojas power is called shakti means devi maa and in sahasrar chakra shiva lives. They had Union with each other and you feel extraordinary bliss and got libarated, or get nirvana

In Hinduism, there is one God who manifest itself on various levels of consciousness in various forms. So that its approachable. Entire Goal of Hindu life is to evolve with each lifecycle to reach that ultimate level where you are ready for Moksha. Hinduism recognises, not every one is intelligent, or not everyone is a believer. Its a personal relationship. Its like God teaching phd students, nursery students 4th grade students by sometime taking a form of nursery teacher, sometime of 4th grade teacher sometime of phd professor so on and on. Focusing on Various God helps us evolve faster. For example if you worship Rama. You will start imbibing qualities that he have within. Your action will get purified. They are basically like aspirational figures to reach that higher level. In Hinduism each soul has there indvidual journey. In Hinduism God is not something to be feared. Its something to be loved and cherished. Thats why you built personal relationship. Only love can bind him to you. Point is you have to grow to reach that ultimate level. Western idea of God is based on BS. Its very exclusive. Its based on fear of God and condemnation. So your morality stems from fear. Our stems from love and responsibility. Even if you dont believe in dieties or God, Hindus would not care. Because Athiesm is also supported in Hinduism. I am an agnostic myself. My mom is. Krishna devotee, father is Kali Maa devotee. Sister is Shiva devotee. Its about what suits your temprament. Shiva is a diamensions in itself. Shiva is aspirational figure. He exists on multiple levels of consciousness in multiple forms. He is that which he is not.

A)ParaBrahma, ParaShiva, ParaVishnu, Parameshwar(Hindu Terms)=Supreme Divine (Generally consider as formless, It is not like there is ONE supreme Divine but there are layers of Higher consciousness)
    B)Primary God, Godess, Deity
    C) Secondary God , Godess, Deity ( Please note that secondary means not Substandard)
D)God, Godess family members means their surrounding energy forms...generally having specific area of work (like in Hindu terms-Veera, god's bhairavs, Yoginis etc)
E)Lower energy forms like Yaksha, Gandharva, Apsara(means Angel's)...In india when we built Well, we establish 7 Angels there.....those related to Water....you may find various Angels sculpture surrounding old temples)
    F)Guru, Saint, Messenger etc
It is not like that A) is greater than B)......Or formless is Superior than Form
Lets take example: Water in Ocean- river-Pond-tank, water in Ice form, water in Vapour form ....All is H2O, still it's ,property, capacity to do work changes according to shape, mass, size,situation...Any disciple can consider his Guru as Supreme Divine as Guru has realised (and experienced) the presence of H2O (Consciousness) in all the forms

He has gone into the matter in a very complex way. Be simple -chant the names of the deity correctly-Initially it is numbers just chanting in large numbers- the other things will follow automatically when the time comes. But best to avoid non.veg food,liquor,drugs,women/men and greed. This helps but it is more easy said than done so even if u make some deficiencies in following these at the lower level it would be forgiven but would retard ur progress a little unless u overdo these bad things which might completely bring ur progress to a stand still.Devotion is easy and simple but only at the lower level like any other upasana/sadhana it is difficult as u progress but the connection /link to the deity mentally is very important.

1:36:10 how can you hold the energy of the Brahman (infinity) when you can't even hold the energy of the deity? Deities are there to help you reach that level. Jesus himself said through me you can reach almighty, paths are many only difference is that we have lot of options to choose (ishta devta) worship who you like he will take care of you and also rajashri guruji once said that human body isn't capable of maintaining that much of energy so you do the practice of your deity where your end goal must be to reach him from there in his realm you can reach much much higher states of bliss by their blessings and we don't need our physical body in that realm

I think I realised one thing, that you perceive that you wanted to be one with the energy of the source - that's if I understood is basically the practice. as he talked about the Energy of Deity and human becoming very much one. The concept where I'd come from is that being connected does not mean - being completely immersed - these I'd imagine are crazy frequencies that are not even available in the 3D. So the way I'm explaining to myself (if I understood the perspective correctly) is that the Hinduism practice is to fully become one with the deity, etc - I never viewed it that way - I viewed it more like a connection - but not full immersion. Don't know if I'm making sense.

The illusion of creation is completed destroyed and the drop merges back into the ocean! I guess I don't fully understand what you mean by 'connection' with the divine. In our culture, advanced yogis communicate with higher beings like we communicate among ourselves. It is said it feels more REAL than what we see around.

Deity is that form of the Supreme that we can approach
Each deity has specific attributes and qualities
You do upasna (meaning following a specific set of rituals for worshipping that particular deity) depending on whom do you like and relate to.
    Hierarchy
Devta or Devi/Deity: Primarily 3 sets
    1. Lord Shiva and Ma Paarvati
    2. Lord Vishnu and Ma Lakshmi
    3. Lord Bramha and Ma Saraswati
    All three have specific tasks
    Bramha is the creator
    Vishnu is the Sustainer
    Shiva is the Destroyer
Bramha can't create without knowledge, here the knowledge is exemplified by Maa Saraswati
Vishnu can't sustain without wealth and prosperity which is exemplified by Maa Lakshmi
Shiva can't destroy without the Infinitely shocking power of Maa Kaali
Then there are devs which are
    9 Grahas
    5 elements
    And so many many more
Sons of Shiv and Maa Paarvati are two Ganesh and Skand
Lord Ganesh is the first Devta to be invoked whenever starting something
Lord Skand is the General of Dev Army, he is invoked before or during a fight
Lord Vishnu incarnates on Earth periodically whenever the balance tips towards adharma to restore balance
Lord Vishnu incarnated as A Fish(Matsya), Turtle(Koorma), Boar(Varaaha), Half Human Half Lion (Narsingh), Small child (Vaaman), Parashuram (Warrior saint) Ram (Ideal Man and Righteous King) Krishna (Master Strategist and Diplomat) Kalki(Awaited)
Shiva has many forms two basic ones are Shiv and Bhairav
Maa Paarvati has many forms Maa Kaali is the ever ferocious warrior, extremely powerful keeper of the Time, she is the one who is truly beyond time, when Shiva also goes along with Kaali beyond time, both become Mahakaal and Mahakaali
Maa Paarvati has forms which are worshipped by normal people like Maa Durga then there are tantric forms like Maa Kaali, Maa Taara, Maa Tripursundari, Maa Bhuwaneshwari, Maa Bhairavi, Maa Chinnamasta, Maa Dhoomavati, Maa Baglamukhi, Maa Maatangi, Maa Kamalaatmika. These have to be worshipped with caution, you're about to touch a live wire when you worship them, if you're ready for it, you'll end up lighting up your house, if you don't know what you're doing you'll end up hurting yourself.

A humble request or suggestion, only for your benefit,….if anyone out there has a desire to understand Sanatan dharma ways, then please please do this favour to yourself, that you come blank/ clear/ unbiased/ free of stereotypes..etc etc just blank, and try to learn the knowledge in its real form as much as possible (specially when it comes down to the “language”, the words are powerful tool to get the clear insight about any subject you are working in, and here in this culture language is taken very seriously, so it becomes important for one to understand Sanskrit language in its true forms, then to constantly depending on the translations,…for a while its okay but then one has to take a dive into the Sanskrit language pool to understand the concepts clearly, from his/her own perspective/ experience combined.
Let me give an example,: the little word “love” in English is just love alone, no other word to describe the emotion in any more dimension, like mothers love = love, lovers love= love, you want to say “my bother loves me”, thats it love, “I love my friends” “I love my cats/dogs/rabbits” all = love…..let me show you….”my husband loves me very much” / “my mother loves me very much”..just not much to use to describe your emotion of love to different relationships with different depths……while in Sanskrit there are almost near to hundred of words defining the word/emotion for every relationship’s “love”……”sneh/ preeti/ vanti/ vanute/ preeyam …list goes on…the translation will be always love in English…..hence the depth & real meaning is lost when one is reading English translation of an incident/ story from ancient Sanskrit text. One more example, the word “elephant”…this too has hundreds of words in Sanskrit language.

Let me make it simpler for people from Abrahamic cultures: God or The Eternal Divine being (Hinduism: We call Brahman or Adishakti), is the primary energy which is formless and is ever present.
God can manifest itself for normal people in different cultures according to the time and place. However, God is so vast that we can't worship it normally(Hinduism perspective), so God transcends into smaller and more approachable forms i.e., deities for average people.
Christianity and its predecessors like Roman and Greek cultures also had this conception but later they erased the middle steps(deities) and kept just God as it is.
It doesn't mean Christianity is wrong or Hinduism or other polytheistic religions are wrong as it doesn't suit your understanding. There is only one truth and you should read "Autobiography of a Yogi" sometimes where the narrator bridged the gap between Hinduism and Christianity, where we also worship Jesus along with Krishna!
Watch the 2nd episode and lot of your questions will be answered.

According to Christianity every divine being apart form the Trinity is subservient to the high god Yahweh. Hence worshiping saints and archangels as deities may seem superficial since they are entities created by the one true God and not manifestations of the God himself. However according to Hinduism all beings are parts of the one divine entity called Brahman though with variable spiritual potencies. The supreme deities (i.e. Ishta-Devatas) worshipped by different sects of Hinduism are all capable of bestowing spiritual growth and liberation (i.e. nirvana or moksha) if approached properly and none of them are subservient to each other or to an omnipotent true God. Hence equating supreme deities of Hinduism to archangels or saints of Christianity or any other Abrahamic tradition would be rather inappropriate. 🙏

@@zuzanareacts We may find many similarities between Christianity and Hinduism if we look closely. But the concept of Advaita or non-duality isn't probably one of them since it propounds the oneness of mortal souls and God to the point of complete possible replacement of one with the other without losing any divine attribute such as omnipresence etc. According to this philosophy every one of us are identical with Brahman but with different levels of self realisation. And the universe around us is nothing but an expansion of our own consciousness. Hence every living and nonliving entities around us are just projections of our consciousness and therefore one with us. For eg. you don't live in Slovakia but it's Slovakia that exists as an expansion of your consciousness along with the rest of this universe. This idea was so radical that multiple succeeding schools of philosophy refuted this concept of oneness to various extents and we ended up with concepts such as Vishishtadvaita (i.e. qualified non-dualism ) and Dvaita (i.e. dualism) to name a few.

The dangers of interviews like this especially exposing it to westerners is that although Rajarshi Nandy clearly expresses different aspects esp of the adhikara to be able to even start or imbibe the paths and the results, westerners who are more in tune with western modes of thought, will conveniently skip them and try to imbibe the latter parts of the message as a mental 'understanding' exercise and much worse create 'reaction' podcasts to it.
This has danger and harm on so many levels both to Indians and to foreigners.
So for foreigners firstly since the whole adhikara part is skipped ( convenient to their minds coz the video doesn't stop for anaadhikaris but keeps going so they don't really need to pay any attention to it to watch further) so he/she doesn't realize all the harm that can easily come to you. Being born in India as Hindu Also is part of said adhikara to some extent, no matter how much you dislike it.
No amount of note taking and reaction videos will change that. Also you skipping that to get more youtube views doesn't mean IT skipped YOU when it comes to getting results (or harm from it). who have the extreme desire to 'talk about it' and express and vlog and blog. So what happens is cherry picking from the video to suit your needs and later blame the system when harm comes.
Secondly westerns often use words like spiritual and common ideas like ishtha , sampradaya etc and try to substitute all this with some 'emotion' and sensible thinking. Even a lot of Indians might not have all the textual knowledge but the LIVED experience is different. So a hindu might have seen a devata moorti at home like a common thing but a westerner would go to ETSY to buy a beautiful idol for christmas shopping or worse like a overenthusiastic new convert and make a vlog about her spanking `meditation` room where she has `spiritual` experience but that might cause more harm than good.
There are so many other problems to talk about but meh.... But ONE most problematic thing is a lot of harm comes to Hindu systems when westerns with clout and power start digesting hindu things like a buffet INTO their weestern religions and actively degrading Hindu sytems or commercializing them ( yoga), discrediting the source ( mindful meditation, or sleep response or many such things), pillaging it or directly attacking it or doing a U turn ( like TS elliot).
What you need to understand as a foreigner that if you suppose convert to Hindu ways of living, or mimic it, or worse even appropriate it, the Dharma gains nothing coz dharma is not because of you ( unlike churches and mosques) but when you do a u - turn after 20 - 30 years, we WILL suffer a lot of pillage and digestion by then. But most Dhimmis don't understand this and west keeps doing what it has done to pagans , to americans and slow to india !

Just like energy comes in your body with various food
Deity comes from one god just like that
And there are rotten foods too like demons etc.
