How to cut part of the extra curve drawn, I don't want to use Ctrl + Z. I tried using an eraser tool but it doesn't work. Please help.

Did you try using the "Scissors Tool"?
1. Select the "Scissors Tool" or press the letter "C" on your keyboard
2. Click on the path where you would like to cut the extra curve
3. Use the Direct Selection Tool (A) and select the extra curve
4. Press the "Delete" key on your keyboard a few times
