Please let me know why we used diode with reverse bias in a circuit

Actually it helps us in many ways. As you know that in reverse bias almost no current flows in the circuit so we can have different types of diode basing on this property like zener diode which helps as a voltage regulator, varicap diodes which is nothing but a variable capacitance diode etc. And these diodes are especially operated in reverse biasing condition.
