      I have a walnut one but it doesn’t have brass bridge saddles or a tug-bar, and the headstock logo on mine is the big 70’s style one - is this an fsr model?

    Have to do a shoot-out of the Katana against the Fender Rumble.

      Yeah, I think it is time to take my favorite bass, go into the store and do that shoot-out.

    The amp sounds great, lot's of features. Reliability is my only concern. Maybe after a few years with gigging bass players toting it around with lots of playing hours we'll see how it holds up. The Fender Rumble 500 has really held up, very reliable for the working bass player.

    • @theriddler620
      @theriddler620 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      same here. I have a mate who owns a katana mk 2 (admittedly it'd the guitar version) and after about a year and a half of owning it a lot of the effects sound terrible and are straight up unusable. its also heavy. very heavy. it's twice the weight of my current Ashdown studio 210

    is there an app with this, like the Katana guitar amp? I can't find a video that features it. Also, does the 'blutooth adapter plug into the bass for wireless play, again like the guitar one?

    • @gear4musicguitars
      @gear4musicguitars  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! Yes, there is a Boss Tone Studio editor app for Mac and PC. Using the BT-Dual adaptor also lets you access Tone Studio from your smartphone. BT-Dual allows Bluetooth MIDI and Bluetooth Audio In, so you can stream music through the amp, it doesn’t allow you to wirelessly connect your bass.

  • @jrbass62
    @jrbass62 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    But are they reliable? Will they hold up to constant practice/gigging?

    • @gear4musicguitars
      @gear4musicguitars  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi Johnny! Boss developed this amp off the back of the Incredibly successful Guitar Version of this Amp. This was the go-to Amp for tonnes of guitarists across a range of genres and was perfect for bedroom use as well as live gigs. The Bass version of the Katana takes all the same amazing characteristics that guitarists love such as a range of onboard effects that will make the bass sound incredible for live gigs Boss created the perfect amp for bassists. It is incredibly reliable and is made to be carried from the bedroom to practice room to gigs.

    • @Okay-time

      It’s class A/B That means it’s twice as powerful as any equivalent

    • @seankelly2753
      @seankelly2753 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because it’s Class AB, its power is rated differently than Class D. The KTN110B is at least as loud as a Rumble 100 and the KTN210B is comparable to the power and volume of a Rumble 500.
      And as a bonus, the fidelity of the Katanas is much higher especially at higher volumes than the other offerings using Class D technology.

    • @andrewstevens2870
      @andrewstevens2870 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would get the 210. They’re probably going to DI you directly to front of house, but better to have more headroom than to max out the volume.
