    Once you train your feet- having zero drop, no stupid arches, and wide toe boxes are the best shoes ever for me. My back and knee pain disappeared finally!
    I have worn only minimalist shoe now for 5 years. I'll never go back.
    My 1st pair of these z trails are still basically new after thousands of miles of walking and running and 2 years of use. I just got 2 more pair for backups. Altra tennis shoes, Lems 9 to 5s for dress shoes 5 days a week, minimalist boots for riding my Harley, and z trails for sandals...are all I wear now.
    Great point about wet. But I still like them for wading and canoe and kayaking...they really are great sandals.

    Thank you for pronouncing TEVA correctly! Very few people get that right and it drives me nuts! Glad that you are enjoying the minimalist sandals. I run in these types of sandals as much as I can. Living in upstate NY, it gets tough in the winter. Even so, I do some crazy stuff. Just ran barefoot in 8 inch deep snow tonight totally barefoot. It's only 27 degrees F, so it was not too cold. Felt pretty good actually. :) ROCK ON!

      Full disclosure: there was a time many years ago where I said Teeva instead of Teva. Wow, can't imagine doing snow in these. Crazy. :-)

    I tried chacos Z light and found the spongy surface to absorb water like a sponge and take all day to dry out. Is the spongy surface of the Z trail also slow to dry?

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I found they become REALLY slippery when they get wet. Your foot slides around a bunch in them, but they seem to dry out pretty fast. Still plenty grippy on the bottom. Your foot just slides around in them.

    Do you use size 10 or 9 in this video? My usual size (46 EU) looks way to big. 44 looks more like your 9, but im afraid that they are to small.

    Thx for the review. Do you get any irritation from the straps.I find this type of sandal moves around a lot on my foot and I have to tighten the straps more than I like to alleviate the problem.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I worried about that, but wore them all day yesterday and didn't have any irritation issues.

    Nice review! Did you try any creek or river crossings in these during your hikes?

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I wore them some in the water/river down at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. They do get pretty slippery (that is, your foot slips around in them) when they get wet.

    Colorado hiking guy here...tried them, total crap. Hike any rocky trail for more than a mile and your feet are toast. Arch support, what arch support? I see a case of plantar coming on just looking at them. I can see using them in public showers...that's it. I'll keep my Chacos and save the pain.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment Mark. I have worn these a ton since getting them. I might not want to hike the Appalachian Trail with them and if you are walking on flat ground and step on an isolated rock you'll feel it, but they have been great for everything I've worn then for otherwise. Chacos definitely have that much beefier sole, although at the cost of weight. Just a matter of which you want more. I'll see how they far at the bottom of the Grand Canyon in a few weeks.

    • @markjacobs6294
      @markjacobs6294 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Flat, thin soles with no arch support, to the bottom of a canyon covered with pointy rocks... and back. Okiedokie...good luck.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh, no. I'm not going to hike 14mi down in these. I'll wear regular hiking boots down. I just wanted something light to carry in my pack for some maybe short stuff at the bottom or to wear around Phantom for 2 nights.

      These will help you develop strong feet. With strong feet you will be much less likely to get plantar fasciitis according to Dr. Mark Cucuzzella, MD, Jay Dicharry and so many others. Read the book, "Tread Lightly" by Peter Larson for more info. I don't know if it is true or not, but it works for me. I run up to 100 mile ultras and others multiple times each year. I run barefoot and in several sandals that make these look heavy. Everyone is different. I honestly have been running since 2010 and I've never had plantar fasciitis or any other injury. These things are the bomb! 4REALZ!

      @CptAngelKGaming 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awww your footsies are too weak and need arch support? Wait till you try the actual barefoot versions. Lmao poor you.
      Hiking isn't for you you'd get embarrassed without all the technology helping you. You need a different hobby. Maybe videogames.
      Now run back to your marshmellow shoes.

    You totally lost me on these things. No offense, but these are dangerous for anything but backyard BBQs.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No offense taken. I didn't design them. :-) I probably wouldn't hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in them, but they really do seem to be surprisingly stable and comfortable for lots of stuff.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The only real problem I had with them I mentioned at the end is that when they got wet my foot slid around in them.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well, I think they are good for a lot of things, but certainly not perfect for everything. I guess it just depends on where you are wearing them.

      Spoken like a true weakling with broken feet.
