The interesting thing about Caleb "Deathslinger" Quinn is that he's probably the most sane of the original killers, look at the back stories of all of the others, they've gone insane, they've turned into wild animals, they sometimes barely look human, but Deathslinger, his sadism is subdued, its calm and cold and meticulous. He's a mechanical genius, he's a bounty hunter, he's a predator, and it shows in his movements. Its always composed, purposeful, relentless, fearless, he enjoys the fear and the pain just as much as the rest, but the real thrill is in the chase, being made to work for his prey, made to hunt, that's what he wants, he'd let them have a headstart cause it makes things more interesting
Yeah, compared to a lot of the other Killers, the Deathslinger isn't just a wild animal. He's not as wasteful. He takes life for specific, mostly-rational reasons; he killed criminals for the bounties on their heads, and then he killed Henry Bayshore and the prison warden for personally wronging him. And he also killed anyone who tried to stop him, of course.

The slow moving pace Deathslinger continues to do as he walks regardless if in a chase or not honestly intimidates me in a way I can't really explain. Its like he is completely calm throughout the trials as he chases everyone, only giving small chuckles and laughs of satisfaction because he knows he hit what would soon more than likely be a sacriface because he knew they couldn't escape the grasp of his speargun very often.
He was never truly insane, just filled with venegance and anger. He was more mislead than actually insane like other killers, thus explaining why he'd show more control and restraint during a chase than, say The Doctor.

I think chains of hate was one of the best chapters released. The theme is terrifying, deathslinger is an intimidating killer, and the map was gorgeous and filled with such great details.
I feel like the survivor side needs to be a bit more action pact or more tension inducing because you are literally having a guy shoot at you with a spear gun

And that those who are musically inclined make music based on the "Entity's theme", which is universal across all themes. Same thing with the "Smile" motif used for masks such as Trapper's, Suzie's, and Feng's. But, those are just pet theories of mine. If true, it would connect itself more to the Lovecraftian inspiration the Entity is based off of.

Everytime I play against him, I can't help but start talking like Arthur Morgan and like running out the gate while shouting "OUTTA THE DAMN WAY!" At any other survivors in front of me.
When i get him with my Iredescent shards i'll have so much fun hooking back survivors bodyblocking their injured teammate at the exit gate. Its so nice how he doesnt just down them, he drags them straight back to him

i remember my first ever game of dbd it was when deathslinger just came out (i was scared shitless we all found dbd scary at some point) and when i heard this in game and saw a huge guy pointing a speargun at me and hearing this amazing music, unforgettable experience
I love playing and fighting the Deathslinger He's just so fun to play and when your facing him he keeps you on your toes like he can hit you at anytime he wants your playing his game not yours. Finally we got a killer that your at the mercy too not the other way around

@@o_ver2.094 It functions like any real gun. He loads them with bullets (or blanks) it seems, which upon firing, propels the harpoon forward. If he catches someone in it, he will reel them in, before impaling them with the bayonet (a knife on the bottom tip of the gun)
Just like Trapper was their answer to Jason, Legion to Ghostface, Hillbilly to Leatherface, and etc. this is the closest we might ever get to The Creeper from Jeepers Creepers. Of course, some of the actual licensed killers they ripped off in the past were eventually added or something from the same vein (like with Silent Hill), but I somehow doubt we will ever get The Creeper. Another I would love to see is Candyman but that is a different story entirely...
I had a good hoot an’ holler when I heard we were getting a cowboy as a killer. I didn’t have high expectations for fear factor or the killer and even chuckled a bit when I heard he even had a gun to reel in survivors. Let me tell you, first game against him and my mind quickly changed. The music was eerie and seeing a glimpse of him gave me chills. I hid in a cornfield trying to find out where he was when I lost track of him. Then suddenly without warning a harpoon struck me within the field as well. I panicked when the music erupted from 1:00 to an intense beat 1:30 I barely managed to survive the trial. I was hooked once. His chuckle made me uneasy. So, when I escaped, I no longer took this killer as a laughing matter. I picture his cold stare from the trailer whenever I hear his name, “The Deathslinger”
when I first started playing Dead by Daylight, one of the first few matches was against the Deathslinger. I remember saying: You've got to be fucking kidding me! A fucking Gun? This is insane!
He has thee best terrior radius music ingame! I especially like the end part of the chase music when the strings are played at the Coda. It's my favorite part! This killer is so tight!

One thing that really creeps me out about the 16 meters for this guy is there is a very low bass sound that almost sounds like someone taking a slow footstep and its getting closer and closer, louder and louder, its hard to hear but once ive heard it i cant unhear it (you can hear it best from 0:44 through the rest of the 16 meters)

@@Host_protector there is a ultra rare add on. What the add on does is when you hit a survivor from 15 meters or further he will be in the exposed status for as long as he is chained
@@davute9546 yeah but his max range with the harpoon is 18 meters so hitting survivors in the 15-18 meter area is pretty difficult imo

@@o_ver2.094 It functions like any real gun. He loads them with bullets (or blanks) it seems, which upon firing, propels the harpoon forward. If he catches someone in it, he will reel them in, before impaling them with the bayonet (a knife on the bottom tip of the gun)

Just like Trapper was their answer to Jason, Legion to Ghostface, Hillbilly to Leatherface, and etc. this is the closest we might ever get to The Creeper from Jeepers Creepers. Of course, some of the actual licensed killers they ripped off in the past were eventually added or something from the same vein (like with Silent Hill), but I somehow doubt we will ever get The Creeper.
Another I would love to see is Candyman but that is a different story entirely...

I had a good hoot an’ holler when I heard we were getting a cowboy as a killer. I didn’t have high expectations for fear factor or the killer and even chuckled a bit when I heard he even had a gun to reel in survivors. Let me tell you, first game against him and my mind quickly changed. The music was eerie and seeing a glimpse of him gave me chills. I hid in a cornfield trying to find out where he was when I lost track of him. Then suddenly without warning a harpoon struck me within the field as well. I panicked when the music erupted from 1:00 to an intense beat 1:30 I barely managed to survive the trial. I was hooked once. His chuckle made me uneasy. So, when I escaped, I no longer took this killer as a laughing matter. I picture his cold stare from the trailer whenever I hear his name, “The Deathslinger”

when I first started playing Dead by Daylight, one of the first few matches was against the Deathslinger. I remember saying: You've got to be fucking kidding me! A fucking Gun? This is insane!
Since i listen to the best killer chase themes i knew i was facing a deathslinger when i heard layer 1
And then i got shot 10 seconds into the match.

One thing that really creeps me out about the 16 meters for this guy is there is a very low bass sound that almost sounds like someone taking a slow footstep and its getting closer and closer, louder and louder, its hard to hear but once ive heard it i cant unhear it (you can hear it best from 0:44 through the rest of the 16 meters)
