Breaking down in a car? It sucks, it feels like everyone is watching you as they drive by. Breaking down in a Lambo? All eyes are on you, no question... Next level suckage has just begun...
+The Dutch Texan . If they didn't want 'all eyes on them', they'd have called a fucking tow truck. This was a stunt designed to get as much attention as possible.
i felt so sorry for him haha, imagine how many dirty looks he was getting for blocking a street in a lamborghini pizza, now everyone is jealous and pissed off at you car at the same time hahah
+Jaret Baldwin or just that the engineer designed it so that the weekend mechanic can't work on it. if there's a way to unnessasarily over engineer something, the Germans will find a way. not at bad as the sweeds though
love the videos man . really enjoy seeing the hidden garage side of these really expensive cars. jay Leno hints at this phenomenon a bit in all his videos, in fact he shows some break downs
+Mr Bean haven't you heard of jeremy clarkson's escapades with his Ford GT? he called it the least reliable car ever and that he's never completed a single journey in it lol
+stroock6394 That was because of some stupid alarm system that a British Roush Dealer installed incorrectly, and as a result made the car immobilize itself multiple times.
Rob, Its a Audi cluster, we get the same failures. Replace them all the time for similar failure (Speedo, or other indicators on cluster, its pretty prevalent on the other generation cars. )
Why? so when the car breaks you'll have to pay a lot more money? German cars are fantastic but no matter how many time you'll repeat that to yourself, realiability isn't one of theyr quality
Robert Torres He could have stopped and controlled traffic... Turned his lights on and followed so they didnt get hit, etc.. Many ways to help... But cops don't think like that sadly.
+That Car Guy it's not a busy road and you need permission to turn on your lights and he could've been going home and thought about it, but he was tired.
+That Car Guy if it was night I'd understand where you're coming from, but it's day time and people were already helping. They took the entire length of the car. The only thing he could've done was lights. There's no danger on that empty road because even the stupidest person on earth can see 8 guys pushing a car
People honk their horns even when they weren't getting anywhere fast.If my dad was in the passenger seat he would've gotten out and smiled and waved like a crazy person at the people honking.
probably a valve body or hall effect speed sensor problem. Mercedes benz's have a similar issue where there is a magnetic pickup sensor that goes in and out and the computer has no clue how fast the transmission is going so it goes into a limp mode.
Very insightful, nobody thinks about the reality that these supercars break down sometimes so it's cool to see the other side of things. And along with everyone else it was very uncomfortable watching the 11th Ave. intersection blocking haha.
Gotta love the friendly people of New York helping the guy with a broken down car clear the intersection by laying on their horns. Much better solution than helping to push the car out of the way.
i was hoping you were going to tell us how long and how much it cost to fix the broken tach. also you know you cant bring those things to any run of the mill mechanic shop, most wont touch it. we turn away any exotics. heck we even turn away saabs sometimes
Just wondering, did the malfunctioning car have a tow point on the front, at minimum you could've had a tow car that you followed or they were following you... just for next time i guess...
I had the tach die that way on a GM ,, the tach in my case was made for use in 4 , 6 and 8cyl cars ,,, a jumper in the back shorts out terminals that adjust the tach for the number of pulses. The jumper came off when I hit a pothole. Isn't that tach made by VW/Audi and have the same settings for 4/6/8/10 cyl?
What an absolute nightmare. This is why i stick to old 70's & 80's, standard transmission pickups for the most part. Proven and a lot less to go wrong.
My 08 f350 cost $13k in repair bills in 2015. Jan 2016 I decided to take it for a 700 mile road trip in -20c. 100 miles in ALL internal electronics died and it was stuck in 6th, 150 miles in; the right side exhaust manifold snaps a few bolts leaking exhaust gas and loosing 80% of turbo pressure. I stopped 300 miles in to get diesel then I drove the last 400 miles praying I would make it. P.O.S
I like it when the other lambo driver just passes by. Some brotherhood. If he was in a broken down corvette another vette driver would likely stop to help.
I wouldn't care one bit about that one bit if I was driving any good car, especially one that sounded lovely. Tip: use your ears and your sense of touch to listen to and feel the car. I could drive my car easy if the revometer wasn't working just by hearing the engine and seing roughly how quick I was going through windscreen =P
And this is why a TRUE MANUAL gearbox is better, you don't have to worry about this kind of nonsense happening where you can't control what gear the car is in, or when it's in or out of gear.
1 thing . You are driving with a camera in your hand recording. 2 thing . You should be able to hear when to shift gears even when you trying to go fast
Breaking down in a car? It sucks, it feels like everyone is watching you as they drive by. Breaking down in a Lambo? All eyes are on you, no question... Next level suckage has just begun...
True that
I stick to my chevy
I never broke down in a car so i don't know how it feels. I had cars breaking down on me tho....
+Jordan Scheurer Yea Chevy Volts are reliable
+The Dutch Texan . If they didn't want 'all eyes on them', they'd have called a fucking tow truck. This was a stunt designed to get as much attention as possible.
i felt so sorry for him haha, imagine how many dirty looks he was getting for blocking a street in a lamborghini pizza, now everyone is jealous and pissed off at you car at the same time hahah
+zimos98 Judging by the other cars parked at 8:28 it wasn't a pizza, just Top Gear promotion.
+Adam K very expensive pizza
+zimos98 lmaooo they probably already think hes a douche too
+Shawn Gray Yeah, It looks like he's grid locking them back or something.
I got anxiety from watching you block 11th ave lol, must have been brutal in real life.
+RcFrenzy Wasn't fun.
+mr42ndstblvd HAHAHAHH that cracked me up
+mr42ndstblvd I probably would have done the same lol
+RcFrenzy I just said that this is giving me anxiety just watching it, then I read your comment. omg
+mr42ndstblvd I think it's a e gear so it doesn't have a clutch but if it was a manual I would of done what u said
11th ave what a great place to have a major issue
Thanks for nothing Audi...
-Lamborghini
***** No, no, no I love German cars, what I'm saying is Lamborghini had Audi to make their cars reliable and it seemed to not be that much help.
+Fexxe German cars are the best cars ever made
+Jaret Baldwin not necessarily... they are nightmares sometimes.
+SOCAL3800 they are when people who shouldn't own an Audi buy one and can't maintain it probably
+Jaret Baldwin or just that the engineer designed it so that the weekend mechanic can't work on it. if there's a way to unnessasarily over engineer something, the Germans will find a way. not at bad as the sweeds though
Most people don't look at tachs anyway. If you're really connected to your car you know by sound.
+jhc1229 or just go by speed
+jhc1229 Except if you own 20 of them you might forget how one sound at what rpm.
+LS1OfAKind Naw...You don't forget the sound of your vehicles especially if you're a car guy. Whether it be 1 or 100 cars
jhc1229 I myself never went by sound but by speed. I know whatfirst gear can go to, 2nd, 3rd, etc.
+LS1OfAKind That I can understand...But let's say your speedo is not working either...lol
My nerves would be on edge knowing I had all these people pissed at me in the middle of traffic lol.
ATTENTION ALL NYC cab drivers .... has beeping the horn EVER worked ? they should disconnect them out of ever cab and livery car in Manhattan !
+eric wsmith --- PS some one repost this is Spanish, Hindu and Arabic.
Yeah would be great but also illegal
+robfrmny21 --- Better idea, put another horn in the drivers side head rest.
+eric wsmith Brilliant. This x1000.
+Bischlarbo69 ----Gracias !
Your 11th Ave breakdown did suck....and you got to hear the NY Symphony of Horn Honking
"That is the last time I'm going to attempt to drive a semi-broken car to anywhere. Next time, it's going on a flatbed."
Well done brains.
SO MUCH FUCKING ANXIETY WATCHING THE PART WHEN ROB WAS STUCK ON 11th AVE.
+Eladio Colon Try living it.
+superspeedersRob Ayee, he replied! Much love brother!
gives me a little anxiety just watching
Lambos aren't meant for day to day driving in traffic anyway.
They're only designed for a Sunday drive on an open road.
+dhalsim1 Or on the track with droves of people waiting to pull you over and fix anything that's wrong immediately.
+kiraanimerawr1
Exactly, it's just a millionaires play thing. Half the people who buy them don't know what the controls do or how to drive it.
+dhalsim1 im sure you do, bud.
+Sumer Grewal
Maybe I do....
+dhalsim1 What about Saturday
Was this for the Nat Geo promo?
I hate when ALL OF MY LAMBORGHINIS BREAK (implying that I own lamborghinis for the attraction of any females)
Pls chiken am a ladi
+Hammer Smith They attract this woman, lol... but then again I've also driven a Lambo and hated it.
+Chiken All my lambos are invisible. Always forget where I park them.
you gotta love the patient drivers in new york city, cant live without them
that second hand embarrassment is just too real for us
love the videos man . really enjoy seeing the hidden garage side of these really expensive cars. jay Leno hints at this phenomenon a bit in all his videos, in fact he shows some break downs
btw I'm curious what has been the most reliable supercar in the gotham fleet?
+J F I'm guessing it would be a Porsche.
+meteoricthrone nsx
If they have a LFA THEN THAT would be it
+J F Acura NSX if they ever get that one, other than that Nissan GTR and Audi R8
they have an nsx. check rob's videos
I love that Audi/VW Interior and displays :D
Standard Manual transmission never fails.
Thank you for driving around while recording such useful info!
Watching this made me wonder if there were any good Italian cars ever made?
Fiat :)
HoodbridgeTV Fix It Again, Tony.
I enjoy your content not the
cars ,but your humor. keep up the work.
+lol thanks Thanks, I do have an interesting way of looking at things.
I love how a few Jewish kids helped you push it haha.
haha me too...nice guys
gosh dang Rob, that's like one of my fears of breaking down in traffic!
Maybe a personal trainer could fix the cars?
you can just feel the love
Own a lambo but can't afford a towing?
Honest and to the point. Loved this vid
get a Ford GT. Built in Canada
+Adam K think the old one got wrecked.
+Genjoi The old one got wrecked by a customer. Was very sad.
Get a Supra and put 1000 hp in it, will probably be more reliable and faster than that Lamborghini.
Rob, Its a Audi cluster, we get the same failures. Replace them all the time for similar failure (Speedo, or other indicators on cluster, its pretty prevalent on the other generation cars. )
first world problems.. my lambo broke:/
6:58 had me starting to swear at the screen as if I was driving it haha worst feeling! (for any car let alone a lambo)
buy german, not italian !
lamborghini has been owned by Germans since 1998!
they supply technical parts i guess
Buy American and drive forever!
never heard that one before.
Why? so when the car breaks you'll have to pay a lot more money? German cars are fantastic but no matter how many time you'll repeat that to yourself, realiability isn't one of theyr quality
VW owns lamborghini since 1998. So it's german crap with italian design
Love the frequent updates
Italian (overpriced) cars with failing electronics and clutch problems?? What a surprise!!.....
That last bit was so tense, my palms were sweating.
Italian cars: Nice design but shitty engineering.
probbaly german that one
Huh?
+Johannes Mages Lamborghini owned by German company sine '98
audi
Ah okay I understand. ☺
I started a miata up from a standstill in 3rd gear while learning how to drive. why is it tougher in a lambo? no control of the clutch?
I laugh at how the cop doesn't stop to help, LOL Just goes to show their jobs are only to ticket, arrest, and kill.
It could also be because he saw everyone helping
Robert Torres He could have stopped and controlled traffic... Turned his lights on and followed so they didnt get hit, etc.. Many ways to help... But cops don't think like that sadly.
+That Car Guy it's not a busy road and you need permission to turn on your lights and he could've been going home and thought about it, but he was tired.
Robert Torres Excuses excuses. Hey im a cop im tried and someone needs help ima just go home LOL Really?
+That Car Guy if it was night I'd understand where you're coming from, but it's day time and people were already helping. They took the entire length of the car. The only thing he could've done was lights. There's no danger on that empty road because even the stupidest person on earth can see 8 guys pushing a car
My odometer broke on my 91 Audi 100 c4 let me tell u it's a b**** to find a new used one that works lol gotta love old german car fleets
I dream of a broken Lamborghini, sell it, and buy a three Hondas
+TH-camr Good luck selling the broken lambo in the first place.
+TH-camr Doesn't the 2000-2005 Hondas all have automatic transmission issues? I know they all had a recall for it
My man
TheCobruhAlienat0r that's why you buy a manual
+TheCobruhAlienat0r Yup some of them do, I've seen a few of those where the transmission starts slipping or shifts very hard.
The car being wrapped makes this 100x better
This is why I am thinking about a Viper. But MSRP is up the ass in every California dealership.
Out of curiosity are older Lamborghini are more reliable or its about the same?
Same happened on mine last year. It was the flux capacitors main resister fuses fuse in the glove box.
random question but how many classic cars do you keep in stock, and is there even a market for classic exotic sport rentals?
Very insightful, nobody thinks about the reality that these supercars break down sometimes so it's cool to see the other side of things. And along with everyone else it was very uncomfortable watching the 11th Ave. intersection blocking haha.
How many miles is on the Lamborghini with the broken tac?
I had the same problem on my '96 Dacia 1310!
Gotta love the friendly people of New York helping the guy with a broken down car clear the intersection by laying on their horns. Much better solution than helping to push the car out of the way.
This actually a very cool video to watch
i was hoping you were going to tell us how long and how much it cost to fix the broken tach. also you know you cant bring those things to any run of the mill mechanic shop, most wont touch it. we turn away any exotics. heck we even turn away saabs sometimes
hi Rob! will you be at the New York International Auto Show this year??
Just wondering, did the malfunctioning car have a tow point on the front, at minimum you could've had a tow car that you followed or they were following you... just for next time i guess...
modern "analog" gauges are not really analog, they are digitally controlled.
just curious how much would cost to fix clutch on Lambo?
This is why I will always love a good ol' standard 6 speed. Yeesh.
Hey man, love the videos, very entertaining and informational!
+OuttieInMyAudi Thanks, share with your friends.
Questions.
What was wrong with the Tach ?
Why did the gearbox pop out of gear ?
Great video! More please!
What an absolute nightmare. This is why i stick to old 70's & 80's, standard transmission pickups for the most part. Proven and a lot less to go wrong.
Rob you seem like a real good dude.
Which one more reliable Ferrari 430 or Gallardo?
I'm wondering if the straight manuel version give that type of problem
Is hopping out to push while it's still rolling out of the question on account of how heavy the thing is?
It weighs about 3500 pounds. If there is even a slight incline 1 man ain't likely pushin it while still being able to steer.
hahaha when he says "son of a bitch!!" I just died laughing. It also makes me sweat cause I hate having that attention in traffic lol
This is why NSX became such an important car in automotive history.
Dude....that suuuucks..lmfao. i felt your frustration... great video..thanks for the AWWW MAN THAT SUCKS..... moments..hahaha.
haven't heard of a tilt tray it seems!
What dash cam were you using? If you remember lol.
love your videos.....thanks...

"£4,000 car"
???
I wish 😂😆😆😆😂
4000 pounds as in weight :p gotta love american measurements xD
I like it when the other lambo driver just passes by. Some brotherhood. If he was in a broken down corvette another vette driver would likely stop to help.

3rd gear is normal. BMW-s always shift to fixed 3rd if any major problem with auto transmission.
im diggin that audi a8 that was in front of u in gridlock
In Houston its illegal to block an intersection like that, we always wait for it to clear before trying to move, even if the light is green.
You don't have an ECU monitor for the Lambo?
Wow, that gridlock on 11th was painful to watch... Props Rob, I would definitely have lost my cool there!
yay uploaded on my birthday 💯
Mine too happy birthday
+rocketbunny1314 happy birthday to u too buddy hope u have good birthday party
+Adam K thx
please make more videos of the cobra r
Hey Rob,
I eventually plan to get a 2006-2008 Gallardo....how reliable are they?
+Tony The clutch is a problem.
Don't have 'gridlocks' much in the UK, we came up with an idea called 'roundabouts' that mean, under most conditions, traffic can keep moving...
And this is why a TRUE MANUAL gearbox is better, you don't have to worry about this kind of nonsense happening where you can't control what gear the car is in, or when it's in or out of gear.
my brother 5 speed eclipse had the same problem we blocked a lane of because it wouldnt go in gear and the clutch was messed up badly
love how how people keep honking more and more as if you where doing it on purpose and honking somehow helps.
why is there a light for the lic plate light???
have huracan (and gallardo) same problems ?
1 thing . You are driving with a camera in your hand recording. 2 thing . You should be able to hear when to shift gears even when you trying to go fast
'That shit ain't no good'
Profound man, deep.
im from NY and i feel your pain over that traffic that u made luckily nobody hit that lambo.
I'd hate to see you try to drive my 1966 Mustang. It makes these cars look reliable
Hey man, I like your "No bullshit approach" to supercars.. You don't seem to talk shit like all the rest....
Keep it real, and keep it up.
here in Canada if there is no room on the other side of the intersection you don't move and get stuck in the middle.
