Genius squaring the half square triangles! You amaze me. Thank you so much for your tutorials. It is the highlight of my week. First thing I do on Friday morning. I love the clearly perfect slotted trimmer as well. With this technique, block trimming will be so much easier too.

It’s now two days away from this video and just watching - what a super quilt and big enough for my queen bed with a long drop (vintage furniture!!). When a Christmas quilt was mentioned I immediately went to the MSQC website and purchased 2 layer cakes - one with lots of reds and the same with lots of greens. An Americana one also sounds pretty cool! I realized half way through the video that I could make just half this quilt and a bit shorter for the charity quilts my guild makes each year for children at risk. I can get about 4 smaller quilts from one layer cake! How great is that!!!!!!

I've seen other patterns displayed with Nutmeg by Basic Grey. However, this was the first time that the quilt was pleasing enough to look at that I was finally able to appreciate the Nutmeg line. Thanks Jenny. I have a few fat quarter bundles that would look stunning in this quilt. 😍

This tutorial came at the perfect time! I've been going through my box of ooops blocks and found a lot of hst that were cut to the wrong size. This is a perfect block to use them up! Ty!!!

This is adorable! So light and airy. Since you are cutting a layer cake into 5” squares, can you also use a couple of charm packs?
