Ha!!! My man. No joke - that SpongeBob soundtrack really lit a fire under me for steel guitar music when I was an early teen… Probably no coincidence that I landed on Western Swing 😅 Glad you liked the lesson, give me a shout if you have any requests!
I love your lessons and I love your guitars. Flash the headstock in your lesson at some point so we can see what beautiful axe you are playing... Robbie, old timer in Colorado
I am learning to play a tenor guitar... do you gave any instruction lessons? I've mostly just played chords but want to do some " picking"...I only started playing 4 years ago at age 75. I am now 79 and really enjoying learning ..I'm a widow with a "Miss Kitty" for a roommate so have lots of time ! Thank you
Hey Fern! First off, my wife and I have 2 "Mr. Kitty" roommates. Aren't they the best? :) Also, I do play a bit of tenor guitar, but haven't made any instructional videos for it yet. Out of curiosity, what tuning do you use?
@@HayesGriffin thank.you for responding...yes our "furbabies" really are THE BEST!!!!♥️ I took one year of lessons on my Dad's tenor guitar and my instructor, altho had never seen a tenor guitar, did some research. By the way, I was 12 years old at the time..and didn't play again til I was 75...am now 79 and living a whole NEW life musically!!!! So tuning for me was C G D A
Do you play any other Western Swing standards? Let us know below!
yes more than a few of them...hard to find other players tho
Great teaching style, love this tune and really just discovered it because of Tommy Emmanuel and Kenny Vaughn jamming on it.
Thanks for the kind words! Tommy and Kenny definitely tear this one up, hope you're having fun with it too 🤠
Hey at the slower speed you could do a version using a slide. Would give it that Sponge Bob background music feel. Lol!!! Awesome lesson 🤘

Thanks for the kind words Robbie! That guitar is a ‘53 Gibson ES-125 I found under the guest bed at my grandparents’ house.
