- Hello my friends!
I'm back with a new WWII Reenactment video!!
This Reenactment is a little bit different, and very interesting!
In this video, we will be Reenacting (former Prisoners Of War) German soldiers who are returning back to their homes after World War 2.
This Reenactment took place in a small town called Simpelveld (Netherlands) close to the German border.
We will be riding along with the Historical Steam Train of the Miljoenenlijn in a Historically Correct way!
Lots of awesome things to see and learn during this Reenactment, so I hope you enjoy the video!! :)

Were you in California?
My day always feels more historically correct when Nick uploads.
Glad to see your still doing reenactments! You’re my favorite ww2 content creator. Keep it up man!
Thank you so much!! 🙏
Would'nt your uniforms be "badgeless"...or even wearing "civvy" clothes?
@@brendonarmstrong4968why would you remove all your badges for one reenactment 😂
Your right same here!
He is my favourite WW2 TH-camr
I’m just going to say! His “Overnight in a world war 2 trench” video, is what brought me back! I remember where I was, and what I was doing the day he uploaded it.
Yay!!! So glad to see you’re back, brother! Best wishes to you always!
Thank you, I appreciate it!!
Love the fact that you were at an amazing historic railway preservation society. You get background and proper railway equipment,or close to it, in one shot.
As an Australian this is very fitting to see on Anzac day lol love your videos your a huge part of my love for history thank you!
16 year old boy here from Illinois! I had a great uncle by the name of ed Polly who piloted bomber missions over occupied France. He was shot down twice and survived both times with the help of the French resistance getting him back to England!!!! God bless America.
Hey history secrets i am a 15 year old boy from Maine and I had a great grandfather who was a radio man in the Pacific Theater during ww2 he brought home a japanese flag and a japanese rifle with bayonet
That's so awesome!! Good luck with this amazing hobby!! 🙏
Cool. A Japanese flag and rifle. It must be a honor to have something from the war.
@HistoryHaty my grandpa sold the rifle and bayonet unfortunately but i still got the japanese flag
@@elijahtidswell8457 On thats sad.
@HistoryHaty yes in deed very sad but my great grandfather did bring back some japanese 10 yen bank notes
A great day when you upload! You have really inspired me to start collecting and reenacting! I have been watching your historically correct videos for a long time now! Thank you for the inspiration you’ve had on me. Can’t wait to see more
That's so awesome to hear, thank you for watching!!
What a wonderful video. I can almost feel how it must have been! The joy of being a released prisoner finally going home, and the apprehension what you would find. It was very poignant because it was true of any POWs going home. Thank You!
Thank you for watching and your nice comment!!
Once again History secrets never fails to deliver
I’ve been watching you for years now this channel
Is grate love it hope you never quit
Thank you so much!!
@@History-Secrets I have been collecting for years now and you help inspire me to start thank you
This is totally awesome, I have never seen any type of reenactment like this
I'm glad you liked it!!
Good to hear that you had a great time in the US. Im happy to see this post! Cool reenachtment, something different!
Thank you for watching again!!
Thank you Nick for keeping World War Two history alive, no matter what type of reenactment you go to you always honor those who have fought for their freedom, whether they be German or American. This is a very special reenactment and you did it justice. As a reenactor from America we don't get many chances like this. Thank you once again for honoring those heroes who will forever be in our hearts. Stay historically correct! -Remy Pepito
Amazing content! You don’t understand how much your channel has shaped my understanding of history!!!
I've never clicked so fast on a video 😂😂 I'm so happy that you made a new video, good job bro ❤🤜🤛
Hahaha, thank you for watching!!
Glad to have you back Nick! We all missed your reenactment videos.
I really love the train 👍 Thanks for another interesting reenactment. I saw you were in the US when you posted on Instagram. You were only a few miles away from my house. Maybe next time you come back and have a few hours we could get together for some live practice with my M1 and K98
I got notified for this video, but I’m realizing I think TH-cam is pushing your videos less I realize how long it’s been since I’ve watched a video
YES FINALY i love your vids and you are the best history youtuber out there ❤
Thank you so much for the nice compliment!!
glad to see your still around I absolutely love your content especially your trench night vids with all those funny shenanigans you and your buddies do i live all the way in Alaska and I did see at an antique store some ww2 German stuff...obviously too expensive for me they had medals and one of those black side caps even an armband in a glass case it was honestly surprising to see ww2 German stuff that far away from anywhere else you would think ww2 stuff would be found
Давно не было видео. Удачи, Ник! 👍
Спасибо за просмотр!!
Very nice to see a unique reenactment rather than the typical battle scene.
Glad to see you having a great time!
Great TH-camr!
Keep up the good work I have been watching you since the start of this channel!
Love watching your videos!
Love historically correct content makes my day!
Its gonna be a good day when History Secrets posts after a long time :D
I love your videos you’re my favorite Content Creator ❤❤
Thank you for the compliment!! ☺️
Another nice video! Sometimes it is good to get out of the standard battle events and do something different. I really liked it when you sewed the button back on. That is one of my least favorite things to do. In fact, I had to re-do some buttons (which are made of wood due to late War shortages) on my Confederate jacket last night and managed to stab my finger with some pointed scissors. You will be pleased to know I bled in a historically correct way!
You were in Detroit, holy cow, I live there. One of my favorite channels. I would have loved to have met you. I hope you had a great time in the city, and I hope you had a great time with your partner.❤
Hey! He’s not dead!
Always looking forward to another upload!
Still alive!!
Instagram photos def didn't disappoint, this is awesome!
Thank you!!
Really enjoyed this episode, keep them coming Nick.
It’s crazy to realize I’ve been watching your videos since you built that bunker in your yard or wtv that was lol on my other accounts, keep up the great work🙏
Really liked this video! :)
Great pictures too.
Thank you for your knowledge of reenactments! I am set to attend my first reenactment as a participant sometime this summer as a German Fallshirmjager!
Hi Nick. I have a guestion about collecting. I'm a 15 year old history and militaria collector from Finland. Your like my faforite history channel and this queston is from collector to collector. Why is there this "old house" smell that comes from my stuff, I was recently comforted about this. How can I get even little bit rid of that smell, if I even can?
Btw Great work. I hope you never quit. Keep it _historically correct!_
bro i don't know how long i have been watching you man i think around 2 maybe 3 years now keep up the good work man.
That's so cool, thank you for that!! ☺️
@@History-Secrets your welcome your stuff is amazeing your lucky you have all that i don't have a single piece of history except A repo Steel M1 pot,
When the world needed him the most, he returned.
Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed your trip to the US I’m glad you got to see our country I’m glad your back
Quite enjoyed this one actually. Really brings to light, in some fashion. That the German soldiers were maniacal, and blood thirsty monsters that history often times like to infer. End of the day, they are just soldiers same as any in the world. They did a job, they fought as they were ordered to. What may, or may not have been their personal beliefs. They wanted to go home at the war's end and they would have to carry on their lives to the best of their abilities. Really liking the videos! Been a fan since your first trench video.
Perhaps some day, you could do a video with an entire American GI squad in the trench? Though you may be hard pressed to find a deactivated Browning .30 to place in the position. They are exceedingly rare. Even more so in the Netherlands I'd imagine, as US weapons aren't all that readily available there I'd assume. Appreciate the work Nick!
Awesome Video!! I did a reenactment at Appomattox Court House on the 159th Anniversary of the Surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia. We Got Parole Papers and everything. Our group represented Company A of the 28th Virginia. Which had 16 men when they surrendered at Appomattox. We had 12 men. Soo we were close. It was an emotional experience to say. But we had a great time
Im so glad your back! I have missed watching reenactments by you
Hi! Im looking forward to another video, good to see your still doing re-enactments!Keep the amazing work up.
Thank you for watching!! 😄
@@History-Secrets it was you who got me into collecting, so thank you!

Are you wearing Fredericci boots there mate? I enjoyed the whole setup and vibe of this video. Everyone did a superb job. The steam train and GMC were magnificent!
Something different. Good to see you back! Taking a drink every time you say Historically correct! I guess you`ll be going to MIlitrack?
Glad you are still good and making great re-enactment videos. Thanks.
GMC funfact in 1988 the Dutch Royal Engineers unit stationed in Harskamp barracks, still used a GMC truck.
I feel like we sometimes ignore the lesser part of ww2, troop movements, and even the end of the war when everyone went home, I think people forget how important these parts of history are.
Can't belive this doesn't have that many likes
My favorite part of wars and battles is logistics and this show the logistical side but in a different way and I love it (also man I’m still holding out on the ww1 reenactment
Amazing video! Keep it up!
Glad you are back , I really enjoy your videos...historically correct 😉
I love these videos and the instagram posts! I cant wait for the summer cause aren’t there usually more reenactments?
Hi I love. Your videos
Thank you so much!!
Damn I love the train ❤ i can not really imagine the feeling of coming home after a war so I could not reenact this I think, but it would definitely be an awesome thing to take photos at 😍
Awesome video as always, Nick! Can't wait for the next one.
the chosen one has returned! good to see you back brother👍
Thank you for watching!!
thank you so much for uploading! you have inspired me to start a ww2 channel and i have even slept in a ww2 puptent and made a video on it!
You are one of the best TH-camr in the world safe of travels bro
It is a pity that the ZLSM isn't able to use their Baureihe 52 steam locomotive (German war locomotive) that they are restoring yet, as that would have made the reenactment even better! The Dutch Railways after the war had a mix of rolling stock from several different nations, so the Belgian coaches are perfectly fit for this scenario! The locomotive in the video however is a model of industrial steam locomotive from Germany that was never part of the rolling stock of the Dutch Railways after WW2, so that is the only one slightly out of place. That being said, nice video and hopefully you keep posting this kind of content!
great video nick! glad to see you back.
Keep it up man, Please don't quit. Best channel on yt.
Thank you so much!!
Saw it on someone's tiktok. Looked really cool.
