With the way the offensive line is struggles right now, does it matter who is carrying the ball? Plus, there's been so much talk about guys doing their jobs, could we see an overcorrection on Thursday? Let's hope not.

Look man as a 39 year old I have been watching football since I was 6 that's 33 years of watching football. I am not a casual I am a serious football fan. Anyhow my point is this , How many rings do the cowboys got 5 we have been to others also but lost. Now people who talk down that the Cowboys have not won since the 90's and it's been years . I think McCarthy is the problem. He doesn't know how to disguise the run. Right now he has our rbs running up the middle without a fullback. Cook had the speed to get around the tackles. Has needs to have guards or the center run around the sweep. With the fullback helping out. Running the back opens up the passing game

From what i see watching the games ,all 3 running seem to have a vision problem. Every single play they are running right into the piles without looking for lanes . Thats the difference with all the other rbs in the league
Nate is right. The offensive line is not moving anyone. Plus the scheme is terrible. McCarthy needs to go. A lot of times the rb barely has a hole to run through. They are most of the time getting tackle by a lb. A fullback will help being an extra blocker on a lb

we used to make line changes weekly moving guys around. Can we slip Tyler Smith out to LT, bring in Hoffman at LG, keep Beebee at C, bring Bass in at RG and slip Martin out to RT (can't be worse than what we have now).

How can deuce do anything when he gets 2 carries and he’s getting hit behind the line of scrimmage every single time. Out of 5 plays where a rb broke a tackle deuce owns 3 of them. They’re doing the same runs they did with pollard trying to run him up the middle when that’s not his game.

Deuce is a good player but Mike doesn't know how to use him. He is a quick slash runner that you have to get in space. None of our players will ever be able to get right if Mike doesn't scheme the run game better.

You say that but not even zeke gets much of a chance to prove himself either. No my thought is more damning or concerning. I ask myself, why are they running duece up the middle. Why not to the edge? Why not run more lupke? He seemed effective. Or maybe even turnpin? Why hasnt turpin (or duece) been return man as of late? Dont remember who it was, damn sure wasnt those two. This MIGHT be just a hunch of mine, reaching far for sure, but do you think jerry has become paralysed with player value? Like lets say hunter and turpin became real superstars, does the thought of that scare jerry so much because they could ask for the bag that hes willing to kinda sabotage the teams chances because his ego thinks his 60 million dollar man can do it without a running game. Maybe he knows these players could help in a big way, might ask for the bag as a result, doesnt want to pay them anything more than chump change, but doesnt want them to leave either. Jerry trying to keep their value down so he can keep them around when he knows deep down that they might be worth more. As far as cook goes, outside of the trade scenario and whether cook still has anything left in the tank, this seems eeriely similar to the coop situation wherein jerry wanted to use wr by committe, but it failed spectacularly and he was forced to make a trade for amari or risk having a bad season. His ego didnt want to make that move.
I’m just confused with this signing overall. He’s an outsize zone runner, different from what McCarthy prefers, but they signed him anyway and are stashing him on the PS. We have two rookies on the online, to me, they’re athletic enough to play the outsize zone scheme, since they lack the girth to get push up front…knowing all this, they elected to have RB1 and RB2 which share identical running styles and fit scheme better and a 5’5 scat back to compliment them? Why sign Cook?
My theory is they signed Cook, as a classic Jerry Jones media move to quiet the narrative that they didn’t do anything to bolster the running back room. Jerry was asked this week about Cook and he said “not this week”.
So what’s the real plan? Are they going to change the running scheme or was the Cook signing a smoke screen?
IF ANYTHING, Cook seemingly has more to bring to the table based off of tape, than Deuce and Zeke. The way the Cowboys front office operates is completely mind numbing.
I will be continually frustrated with coaches who are stats nerds. Just BEAT THE TEAM IN FRONT OF YOU. If they are weak against the pass, carve them up. If they are weak against the run, carve them up. Stop trying for some artificial number of carries that we NEED TO AIM AT. It's crazy.
