@@devonarsenault3147 To be fair, they have pretty heavy steering, big chassis, kind of tippy, but they look cool! I have an old polaris now which is much smaller but much lighter steering, the automatic Diff lock is really nice to have. Try a few different ATV's if you can and see what you like, King Quads\grizzly\Brute Force are probably my picks these days. But as a good value ATV, the 500 works nice! (my newer thundercat was pretty nice, heck this was fun too, the manual trans was a lot more engaging then a CVT)
I have a question what does the 4 gears do the bottom one is reverse the second one is neutral the third one is drive but what is the fourth one do at the top?
push forward with toes to shift down to neutral, push backwards with heel to go up to 5th, reverse is a lever on the left side front under the handlebars with the high and low range
Arctic cat used a bunch of other motors before they started making their own (H1 and H2) Kawasaki 650 V twins, Suzuki 500 and 700 motors as well! The previous owner said it had been replaced, I think due to rollover, the motor ran very strong but maybe was original.
@@bRad96699 They are good looking too! that Suzuki motor has great midrange and is well built, the 700 is just a taller block version of the same motor as understand, good luck with your purchase!
@@Kingsoupturbo im here doing research for a friend looking to buy a 2008 500 for 2900 bucks, i know a fair bit about atv's but nothing really about arctic cats, trying to help him make a good decision while learning things about the brand myself
I have an 04 500 manual, love that thing.
dave runner agree
dave runner do you have any problems with it I’m about to get one needs a starter and the screen someone took it out for a radio idk why
It’s not a manual, semi automatic significant difference calling a semi auto atv trans a manual lets everyone know your a critical noob.
I have a 500 with the same colour but I have the 2006 model. I really love that light green colour
Its a great color and machine!! thanks for watching!
Could you please tell me what engine is on that atv? I have the same but don't know what it is. 500cc? Mine is manual aswell
I have a 2003 500 arctic cat manual. Any major changes to the 2005?
I think its pretty much the same machine but with the newer body work!
@@Kingsoupturbo are Arctic cats worth to buy? I’m looking at Arctic cat 500 about to buy it need to know if it’s worth it

Enjoy your unicorn. They are very hard to find in good condition.
Once it had those lighter wheels on it, totally transformed the machine! so much faster, I wonder what its like at sea level? fantastic I bet!
Hi just a quick question do you have to engage the brake to start
i'm not 100% sure! I think so though, just like all the automatics.
joe Randall agee
I have this model and you can start it without having the break on.
just has to be in neutral
I have a question what does the 4 gears do the bottom one is reverse the second one is neutral the third one is drive but what is the fourth one do at the top?
If you are talking about the automatic it is probably high and low gear
push forward with toes to shift down to neutral, push backwards with heel to go up to 5th, reverse is a lever on the left side front under the handlebars with the high and low range
These came stock with a Suzuki engine. Colab with Suzuki and artic cat you sure the engine was replaced?

Your winch has the wrong fairlead for the synthetic rope
You can run roller or hawse on synthetic, just to be sure the rollers are free of burs.
Lol I own that quad
I hope you've had fun with her!
