- A celebration known as tuloni biya or small wedding succeeds the eleventh day after the girl’s first period. It is the welcoming of her maturity and fertility where the entire locality takes part. For the first 4-7 days, the girl is confined to her bedroom. No man is allowed to enter the room and she isn’t allowed to be touched by anyone. On the fourth day, a ceremonial bath is performed by the girl after the application of maa halodhi or turmeric on her skin by women of the family and neighborhood as in a real wedding. On the seventh day, the same bath is performed again and the girl wears a new traditional mekhela-sador, which is accompanied by an auspicious feast on that day and the girl is congratulated with several gifts.

I proudly saying I am assamese Indian.
I am also girl..it's not bad rituals..it is proud moment being a girl.
Okol assam t nohoi South Indian bilakeo puberty ceremony kore.
Yes ! This ritual is very hard 😶iam also Assamese
An old custom born out of patriarchy which is still followed. It is even painful to see many women continuing the age old traditions due to lack of education as well as misguided upbringing. This is a social evil and should be dealt with accordingly.
This is celebration of first period. Even, my family celebrated my first period and I totally enjoyed it. You have no idea in details why the rituals are performed and thats why you are saying like this. Every Assamese girl enjoys on her tuloni biya or celebration of first period
@@glitzyglam6860 And you know so much about the rituals and in great detail why they are performed. And btw, did you do a census of all Assamese girls who has attained the age of puberty or has gone through the age to become a woman now that did they enjoy their tuloni biya?? And if you did kindly share the same here. Otherwise on which basis are you refering to "every Assamese girl"?
Thanking you in advance for your cooperation.
@@Mrinmoy1993I agree with her being an Assamese
❤️❤️
Nice story.
This is one of the most bed tradition of Assamese society... We should fight this evil system
What did u just say
It's necessary to bring in notice that different kind of practices follow in our society, which is obstacle in the development of society and discriminate equality rights. Keep doing it for the Social Awareness.👍
This tradition is not bad. Even I being an Assamese girl celebrated my first period and we really enjoyed it. This video misleads the whole process. Every Assamese girls celebrates her first period performing rituals and praying to God. The whole process is celebrated with pomp and splendor
I don't like this type of rituals
I am an Assamese girl

Me too

Nice
♥️❤️❤️☺️🥰
I also followed this same rituals man!! Feels dirty😩
Your feelings are completely normal and it's natural. We are blessed that we have such forwarded culture and rituals. There are some parts of our country where people can't even talk about menstruation openly, just think about them how they feels and go through.
