My signature ...layer 3 parts 'epic man' with 1 part ' epic woman'. Best for hot humid sticky weather. The green with gold...most beautiful amouage bottles, liked emeralds.

Mysterious dark complex scents are kinda my thing so I knew this would be a winner, it's totally complex and multi faceted that it's hard to put into words, I hope I did it justice. :)

I decided to buy this perfume after watching your review of it, without knowing any of the Amouage perfumes. I just got it today. And you are right! It is drop dead gorgeous! I fell inlove with it immediately. It is a powerful fragrance: a statement! Thank you for the review!
I just had some sprayed on a card at Harrods and just put in my bag. Now I'm home and it smells divine. With you being a nutter and so enthusiastic I'm buying it! subscribing too x

The notes looked wonderful, but I tried it, and I could not get past what I suppose was the Pink Bay or Caraway Seed. You did not list Caraway, but I think it is in there. I have several other Amouage perfumes that I love, especially Lyric and Memoir. I adore Orientals and really wanted to like this, but I could not get past the Caraway and/or Pink Bay.. 😐
Re the evocation of a journey, Serge Lutens 's Borneo 1834 does that for me. 🙂
I recently tested Bracken Woman, and I really like it a lot. It is not an Oriental, though. Also tested Reflection Woman which I found rather generic and uninspiring. Ditto for Figment Woman, although I liked Figment more than Reflection.
Epic woman is one one my favourites. I am on my second bottle. It last forever because you do not need much and you do not need to reapply. I also spray it on my pillow and it lasts for days on fabric.

I'm 63 yrs young and every 7-8 yrs I buy some exquisite scent. I will tell you what I think of Portrait of a Lady, since I also splurged on that one.What other Amouage scent can you recommend that commands attention and is long lasting? You're definitely my go to guy..Thanks again for the in depth reviews.
For Amouage one of my faves for women that is BOLD is this one!!! Also the black bottle Memoir, but my favourite of all time is Opus IX! :)

I love it when you gush😘 I have only sampled this once from a dabber, I will definitely try it again (tomorrow probably) from an automizer. I like that you get the difference in fragrances from when you put nose to skin and when they waft in the air. Interlude Woman was awful nose to skin but wafting it was rather lovely (in the dry down). I remember when I sampled this I got this crisp greenness and I assumed it was possibly the patchouli; I think because that part kind of reminded me of a Mugler and I've always assumed patchouli is what gives his scents his "stamp" if you will. I could be totally wrong about that though! Great review Tom, so glad you're back!!
Sorry I'm replying late, been so busy!! But you would have seen my other comment! You have this now. This one is a huge example of how things smell different in the air than close up. Super confusing...and super brilliant.

Very good review 😊 I own a bottle, and I do not wear it very often, because it's rather demanding. But, I love it, and I get fresh newspapers in the topnotes 😂

This is my next Amouage as well, I have a sample and it is absolutley beautiful. Very complex and so well blended.
Absolutely! Blended to f**k and complex like a crazy thing. I had to stop speaking because it's got an abundance of nuances, aromas...everything. Amouage fragrances like this are SO hard to put into words. :)

I don't get the skanky from cummin , nor BO.
When it is used like this in a fragrance though , it goes very dry on me.
I mean , desert dry.

I think the cumin is touching on skanky, but well behaved. It's more crisp and sharp than anything. It's so complex. Amouage fragrance reviews are always my most passionate, and difficult. haha. I'm still to find one that will floor me as much as Opus 9. Hehe. :)

DO IT! Hehe, peppery, animalic jasmine. And sheer opulence. And of course, the bottle is glittery. haha
I’m not a fan of this one. I think it’s unique, weird actually, I guess it’s ok but I love Lilac Love much much more. You did an amazing job describing this one. It is a hard one to figure out.

I love this and have just purchased my second bottle.
Because of an underlying woodiness, I find this quite masculine. Definitely unisex and wearable for an adventurous male!
Yes it deffo has masculine tones, I LOVE it. I'm hoping to get a bottle soon. I wonder what the mens is like.
I have the men's, it's great - I think the opening is stunning (similarly complex to Epic Woman), the drydown less so - but still very wearable. Powerful and long-lasting. It's worth trying!
Most people say they like it so I blind bought this one. Paid $120 for a big bottle and hope it doesn't let me down 😁
I could not agree with you more - if you only tried one Amouage it needs to be EPIC woman. I have not been to Oman but I can only imagine it smells like EPIC woman [well I hope so] - I love it, love it, love it - I'm on bottle 3 and looking for a good price on bottle 4 for back up!

I am sampling this again today...and let me say this review is spot on perfect!! How Tom describes it, is exactly how it is. Even though it is spicy and oriental I think it can easily be worn in warm weather because of the crispness that Tom keeps referring to. This may very well be my next FB Amouage purchase. Also even though it's Epic Woman it smells totally unisex, maybe even leaning just a bit masculine. A must try!
And now you have it!!!! I'm so glad I did it justice. Amouage's are among the most difficult to review, but also the most fun to smell! :) In my video with my crazy friends the other day, Michelle fell in LOVE, so I gave her the rest of my sample. She is very open to complex stuff. This one is a GREAT one!
ouch110 Fragrance Reviews your review of Epic was so spot on! The first time I sampled it I just dabbed it on, and thought it was nice, but nothing spectacular. Well, from an automizer it comes alive!!! I'm horrible with names but she must be the brunette (super cute too)...she was the only one of them that really seemed to be kind of into fragrances. She seemed to be really surprised by Epic! Nice of you to pass it on to her!
Hehe yes she was the brunette, the girl in the middle was actually sober but ya know, the video would have been the same if we were all sober. They are so intense haha. It took an hour to get them to settle and smell things. She REALLY wanted Aramis Calligraphy rose too, I've remembered that and I'm gonna buy it for her birthday on Sat. YAY!

Hi Laura!!! Oh gosh SO many fragrances take me on a journey, usually ones that are themed on a place on purpose. Great idea for a video! I'm gonna add it to my "must do" vids. Thanks! It's hard to decipher between fragrances that take me on a journey, and fragrances that just take me "back" to an already familiar place SO, I'm gonna have a long hard think of all the things i've smelled that have moved me. MWAH!

Hi. I sampled epic woman I agree with your review. There's some sort of greenness. I hope to own a bottle. I read in fragrantica some people comment it smells of pickles? I can't smell pickles though.
I don't smell pickles either. :) Incense and caraway seeds.

Not a fan of this one ,but it is a winter fragrance! Most important is cumin not going skanky, because cumin in some perfumes damn I get the underarm sweat horrible!! Just today I went to amouage boutique and again smelt the latest and previous ones.. thing is most could give me headache ! I am being sensitive to heavy scents specially it is summer.. only two I have from this house are lyric and gold and I like them but not much summer fragrances
I think the Cumin in this only adds a dryness, not a horrible skanky (although I did say that). It's still a VERY heavy fragrance though, but it stays crisp! It's almost like it's cold, spicy and crisp rosy. Very complex. Amouage are not really a brand that makes quiet fragrances often (Although I have Lyric and it's Gorgeous). If you are sensitive? This could be your nightmare!

Any chance you have used simply red by Elizabeth Arden? I can't find any reviews and I respect your nose 😆 I keep hearing it's good but would like to hear what you think first.

Hehe DON'T DO IT!!! It smells amazing, but it's very complex and bold. Amouage are never one to splurge on unless you truly smell it (coz they cost a pretty penny). Hehe. I hope I gave ya a good vision though. :)

@@olddirtybastet6844 no, from most of the big names. I personally recommend maxaroma. Most niches are in the range too. A few weeks back I bought scent of Peace and bleacker st, both for $120ish. U can get them cheaper too if u can do testers
