Yes, I have to admit, saw it coming , it's not: 'free tuition', but a behind the scenes invite, to view a further, 'behind the scenes' offering, to ask 'you' to er, $pend some o£ your hard €arned mone¥...
$299 dollars feels pretty steep. When I read through what you get for that it helped me understand why the price is so high. I have no doubt it is worth it, but I'm not $299 dollars interested in macro photography. I'm *maybe* $100 dollars interested, though. Are you guys sure you got this price right? Seems to me there may be 3 or 4 times as many people who are willing to pay $100 than people willing to pay $299. Thanks for all of your great videos. Keep up the good work.
My thoughts exactly. And in intro they say you don’t need expensive gear but, they priced it like this…. Lots of other good macro videos on TH-cam for free
I Love Photagraphy ! Been Shooting for 50 yrs as a Hobby I don’t Have His expertise but I get by ! But his Stuff is Gorgeous ! You are Never too Old to learn ! Love insects and Macro !
Thank you for this very informative tutorial. May I please ask where to buy the "Twin LED light" (5:56 - 6:02 timestamp) you use on your camera when you were in Chilamate Rainforest? Thank you
I'm just starting with micro photography (like with 50mm 1.8 plastic fantastic and some extension tubes) and i'm really excited about it. It is so rewarding if you manage to get a good picture. All that detail. I haven't been this excited about something in a long time. I wish i could afford this tutorial.
Hi again, I have a 6 d mark 2 and a sigma 35 mm and canon 85 mm lens. What accessories or combination should I use to take macro photos by approaching objects like this? Thanks
The photo you took of the spider on the leaf looks like a what is known in West Australia as a Garden Orb and I have one that I have made friends with in my back yard. They are a very calm spider and it doesn't take much time before they will trust you and even get out of their web and on to your hand once you have their trust.
Thank you a million times thank you. I am an artist with paint and pencil and you have shown me another world and I am in love with this new world of brilliance, colour and beauty beyond.
Very interesting! Question: Is the tutorial suitable for someone who has never used Photoshop? Lightroom I've mastered but literally never used Photoshop, and the multitude of functions in it baffles and scares me away from it, don't know where to start.
Wish I could afford all your tutorials, they look amazing, but this one in particular looks incredible (even though looking at insects make me feel like they're crawling all over me 😅). Some solid b-roll in there too, great work!
Andres Moline awesome footage!! For your MPE 65mm flash, is that canon or Youngno? Did you build the diffuser covers yourself or can they be bought somewhere? Thanks!!
Never watched an ad for a tutorial on TH-cam. Kinda like googling something and getting a walkthrough of what you might get if you could Google what you were looking for.
Was interested, but I do not use subscription software, so I won't be spending $300. It was also interesting to hear that some photos were composites made from other shots and put together in PhotoShop; the caterpillar stitching was a cool touch. All that being said, it does look like a lot of work went into this tutorial and there looks like a lot of good information is there. If you use that software it most likely is worth the money.
You’re awesome, I need to learn from you. I have tikona 100 mm 2.8 this lens is good and I am happy with it but not happy with myself i doing macro photography wrong . I don’t want to click so normal photos I want to do it like you but I know only one book or one video can not help me it requires practice. My eyes are not immune to see insects I see birds can you just guide me how to build this . I feel I don’t have any other insect only some spiders.
I would love to get this, his images are so good but I hate sitting in front of the computer doing post and it looks like there is a lot of that with macro.

I agree with his philosophy of only taking pictures of living animals and not killing them for pictures. I don't want my art to be trophies of me killing animals. I want to see them in their living, breathing state.
If you don’t own a macro lens, you can buy one for less or apply the $299 towards a higher end macro lens. Having actual experience using a macro lens should be your first step.
Is Andreas Moline an excellent photographer in the world of macrophotography .........Yes, I believe so. Is this tutorial a must for a beginner........NO. As with most ,if not all, fstoppers tutorials they are for those who hope to achieve enough income to offset the cost........it would be easier to win the lottery. Let me repeat.........Andreas is an excellent macro photographer.
I am little disappointed... did not want to know that there was so much photoshop ... tooks all the beautifull and magic effect of this nice pictures. Even if I knew :)
Cole Pear I’m referring to the tutorial which is what this video is about, not the equipment associated with this particular type of photography. Also comparatively speaking specialized lenses for macro photography are extraordinarily cheap compared to some other niches.
jebis03 yeah, I see that the lessons are what the person was commenting about, it’s not cheap, but it’s worth it if you have a big interest in the hobby
Cole Pear Right, $300 isn’t cheap but it’s not expensive especially considering what you get. People go to school and spend years of their life and tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars to learn less from a less qualified person over a longer period of time. FSTOPPERS tutorials are more so geared towards people who want to become professionals in the industry or people who already are but want to expand their skill set. Most of their tutorials are not really geared towards the casual hobbyist who just enjoys photography.
Editing other photos in to make it one complete photo is smart. But before the computers, you had to capture the photo with precision. Editing to make leaf alignment with a specimen is kinda cheap I feel. But Its today’s tech so I guess good on ya.
While this video is still worth watching, it is a commercial for a paid course. That should have been made immediately and clearly apparent in both the video and the descriptive text. This deception makes me unwilling to consider buying this course since this post makes me wonder how dishonest f-stoppers are willing to be. I am unsubscribing from f-stoppers.
This is Not a tutorial, but advertisement for a course of micro photography. Nice but, doing and discovering it yourself is a better way that motivates more. So by a micro lens and start shooting. Don’t copy paste from someone who gets praised over and over again on given platforms. Build your own world and show your dreams in your pictures.
Sweet ad, I didn’t realize I was watching a commercial until halfway through. Looking forward to the tutorial.
It's available through the link in the comments
