Many years ago I would rent a skiff from Lombard's on the Chef.... We would put a 25hp on and go to the rocks. We cut across lake Borgne a few times and it handled four for waves nicely.
I've gone in a 16 for with a 25. Real rough in a couple of places but depends on you. I once saw a 12 for with a 9.9 at Cat Island and he headed to Gulfport in 2 for seas. Not for me.
@@FishxScale yeah Baby trout like 4-5 for them and they were all like 10inches but fat ! And I caught 2 Gar fish ! I thought I saw Rat Reds Snatching shrimp and minnows ! I wasn’t sure but then again I was seeing all this on the Steps at Lake Lastnight

Would a welded 14ft flatboat with a 25 johnson be good for this area?
Not really for the long rocks. But it would be fine for exploring the cuts off the spoil canal
