    Jonathan, I want to personally thank you for teaching me how to screen print. I have been printing for about 6 years and basically learned most of what I know from watching your videos, along with trial and error. If I'm ever in Phoenix I will stop by to say "Thank You" in person.
    It may have been lucky timing, I was having difficulty with a particular technique (I think it was printing hoodies and dealing with fibrillation) and you had just posted a video dealing with the issue I was having. After watching that video I was able to successfully complete the run. You saved the day!
    When someone asks about learning screenprinting the first place I send them is your channel. You should know that your channel is the first one recommended on many screenprinting forums, for good reason. Your videos are concise and very well done. I've always liked your style from the early videos til now. Over the years your production quality has increased yet you still maintain the same down to earth attitude. You are an excellent teacher and your passion for teaching comes through every time.
    Again, Thank You!

      Thank you very much. I appreciate the very kind sentiments here. And compliments. I truly appreciate that. You're welcome. I enjoy teaching and I'm very happy selling equipment and supplies allows me to make these TH-cam videos for everyone to learn from. It can be hard work at times and sometimes I fell like I have nothing left to say but I always have questions and comments from viewers to get ideas from as well. It's been 10 years this year posting videos consistently every month. Sometimes multiple videos each week. There's a lot of "new kids" on the block and a few "copy Cats" ;) But I seem to manage to hang in there... lol. Again you're very welcome. Let me know if I can be of assistance anytime. I haven't done any screen printing in a while but I started from watching your videos so many years ago. Really appreciate you taking the time to make these in-depth videos that walk everyone through problems and answering any and all questions one might have. Keep it up! Super underrated. Thank you Johnathan, for all of your time and effort.

    Thanks for the informative video. What will happen if you use a high mesh count on a design that could do a bit less? I want to be safe and buy a screen with high mesh count (160-230) so it can cover all design with plastisol

    • @CatspitProductions
      @CatspitProductions  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Using 1 mesh count for all your print jobs leaves you at a disadvantage. Mesh count is chosen specifically for the art and secondarily for the ink. Meaning you do not want to push high opacity white ink through a 160 mesh unless you really need to. Because plastisol inks are thicker, we tend to use the lowest mesh count possible that we can render the design on. With water based inks, which tend to be thinner, we can use higher mesh counts in general. Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/

      I'm glad you enjoy my videos. A 200 mesh count has 200 threads per inch. Thread diameter can vary depending on the manufacturer. Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/

    Hi. Just recently started getting interested in screenprinting and have seen a few of your videos so far and enjoyed them. There is one thing though and it's not really related to screen printing but it has peaked my curiosity and I would like to know if it was by choice or just happened. Your catspit logo, the one with the cat with the fish skeletons around it. Was there a reason you had the top, left and right one going counterclockwise and the bottom one going clockwise? As I said just curious. And again, enjoy your videos greatly and will be checking out some of your older ones and newer ones. Thank you.

      Glad you're enjoying my video work. 2 fish represent a chase and 2 a connection. That one's personal ;) I'm happy to know you're checking out both new and old videos. I have 10 years worth. Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/

    I'm planning to use plastisol inks so I guess somewhere in the range of 110 - 160 should be fine. Though my artwork consists of basic shapes with no detail so which particular mesh count would be better for my needs? To be precise, it's a black silhouette of a kangaroo against a sunset.

    • @CatspitProductions
      @CatspitProductions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's really hard for me to say without seeing the artwork. If there are any smaller fine lines or text, a 160 might do the trick. But if it's larger shapes and lines a 135 may be just fine. Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/

    Mesh count depends on alot of things
    Image
    Ink
    garment you printing on
    How many colours goes on top of the base
    You can't use to low mesh for halftone base doesn't matter what ink you use details
    It will be washed off

    • @CatspitProductions
      @CatspitProductions  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, that's what the video basically says. There is no "best" mesh count for screen printing. Depends on the print job itself. Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/
