The thing about being an attacking player is you tend to overlook trades. It's more of a positional concept, but you usually have a better position than your opponents. This probably has more to do with your opening prep, but it is those sorts of small inaccuracies that lose the advantage that you gain with opening knowledge. The best practical advice that I can give for an 1800 elo is just keep trades in mind. You are either keeping the initiative or liquidating your opponent's advantage.

That's good advice. Yeah I've noticed that I get good positions quite a bit but I don't convert the advantage properly. I definitely try to avoid trading as much as I can unless I'm up material but maybe if I notice my position is slightly better than I should try to start thinking if trading into the endgame is good. Appreciate the advice
