@@blackcountrywalker Not sure, we just used to as kids call it Black Rock, we still do refer to it as Black Rock. But I think it's just a name us locals called it that lived close by
i am from dudley and when i grew up and saw how people perceived the black country and its people i hated my accent and where i grew but when i got older i realise what an amazing place it is to be from who cares what others think the black country has a rich amazing history yes its dark history but we have so much to be proud of so yh i am black country born and bred and proud of it ay we

Even though I'm proud of my brunmie accent, it's been my archilles heal since I started teaching English in Spain! Due to brummies not travelling a lot, 99% of people I've taught or tried to teach say theyve never heard a brunmie accent before. Some think Peaky Blinders is one way or picking up some brummy, but not many stick with it! I've many a time thought of just looking for another job!!!!
The slag heap featured at the end, known locally to us as kids as Black Rock, was a haunt we used to frequent as teens regular, a great memory there.
