OMG -- 2002's and 3.0 CSL's...! The Babies and the Big Daddies. In the US, we had the old Miller & Norburn 2002 in mid-70's. And remember the 320 Turbo driven by David Hobbs in IMSA? And the Calder 3.0 CSL's? Even today's M8 in IMSA is astonishing looking. Ouch, did that little bimmer just blow a gasket?
Remember that time well on this side of the pond. It was Group 44 of Falls Church Va., for Triumph/MG/Jag, Bobcore (sp) Alfa, the Datsun 510 (Morton the driver). You could actually but all the parts that were used on those track cars. The race coverage was published every week in a paper I discovered on the news stand in Akron, Ohio when I was in college there. The paper was 25 cents! I think it was Autoweek. Pre internet. Good thing I was a poor college student as the ads in the back were like being in a candy store.
