The cruelest thing Chris ever did on this show was know that Ron was expecting steak and STILL planned to serve him a hunk of mushroom.
And on top of that, he called it "just as good as the food from here (Mulligan's)"
A fungus can NEVER be as good as a steak. Everyone knows that...except possibly Chris, ha ha.
There was also that time that instead of a cake, he brought a "vegetable loaf" to a party. Ron's reaction to that was so righteous. "So, not only does this exist, but you have DEPRIVED everyone of CAKE."
Yeah, I like Chris, but he was stereotypical inconsiderate vegetarian at times… most times

He was vegan then, but he was working his way to freakin' vegan.
In case you weren't aware, there is an irony to the casting choices of both characters. Nick Offerman (Ron Swanson) is a progressive man in reality. Where as Ron Dunn (Sam Elliot) has been playing cowboys and gunslingers in Westerns for almost 40 years and is in reality a staunch libertarian. They had the creative progressive who adores poetry play the self sufficient conservative archetype. Where as the epitome of a new age humanitarian is played by a man who's career in film revolved around killing people and who is an actual libertarian cattle rancher. Knowing this makes the dichotomy (IMHO) between them even more hilarious.
They start off hating each other but by the end of the movie they are co-owners of a Chuck E Cheese franchise

There´s only one thing i hate more than people who just plain copy something that is being said in the video and type it in as their comment. People who aren´t even able to qoute it correctly and put emojis at the end.

Under every compilation video of anything some people feel the urge to just qoute the video which ist the most uncreative and stupid thing ever. I usually read the comments and hope for funny comments or opinions about certain things but 80% is just people writing a single line from the video i just watched. You are the first and only person i replied to who does that and i just needed to say at least once, that it's absolutely stupid.
I'm convinced the only reason Ron didn't throttle him over the mushrooms was due to hunger weakening him.

I am a vegetarian myself and even I was pissed off at Chris at the last one. You don't promise a hungry man his favorite meal and then give him what you consider to be an "Healthy Alternative". That's the perfect storm to trigger his inner rage monster. I am surprised Ron remained calm there.

I love how no matter the quality and personality of a person, ron can grow fond of them as long as they share his interests or are just good people. Even if they are polar opposites in terms of people, like the hair stylist and leslie.

Chris bothers me...like I get he is a good guy and I love him overall, but when someone asks you to bring a cake or expects a steak dinner. Don’t bring a vegetable loaf or make them grilled mushrooms...it’s just rude to force your lifestyle on others.
Exactly! I was just as pissed as Ron when Chris brought the vegetable loaf because April and Andy asked for a cake which was for their wedding. He truly deprived everyone of cake during a special occasion
That's kind of a theme of the show: Most of the cast has certain values and forced them onto other people, despite them getting upset when other people has done vice-versa.

First scene. I always found it so ironic that Swanson, who's signature piece is his beautiful mustache. Sam Eliot who is also known for having the greatest mustache in the world, had it shaved off. Not to mention the nod to the Big Lebowski where his character gives advice to the Dude and is asked if its an eastern thing and he replies 'far from it'. Yet here it IS an Eastern philosophy with which he consoles Ron. I know I m probably alone on this one 😂
