Ken legally adopted Tracy as his own daughter making Ken her legal father outsmarting Ray who sadly died on Ken and Deirdre's wedding day at their wedding reception in the Rovers. Ray died in Tracy's crying tearful arms. Tracy hardly ever knew Ray. And when Neville Buswell returned in 2005 for Ray's death storyline. Nobody ever thought that this was how Ray was going to leave his daughter Tracy and then baby granddaughter Amy. Back in the early 00s while Tracy was still married to Robert Preston(then played by Julian Kay). The story was that Tracy put the blame on Robert cheating on her when it turned out that it was Tracy who cheated on him. Tracy's lies caught up with her when Robert turned up at the Barlows door at 1 Coronation Street Weatherfield and told Ken and Deirdre that he wasn't the one who cheated it was Tracy who cheated on him. So when Tracy came home to find her husband Robert was there. Her little lies came out. Robert and Tracy decided to get a divorce instead of working their marriage problems out. In 2015 Deirdre Barlow(the late Anne Kirkbride) died in France while on holiday there. Deirdre's death news announcement didn't take long to get around including the Rovers where a welcome home Deirdre party was held. And next up was Deirdre's funeral where a re appearance of Tracy's now ex husband Robert Preston(now being played by Tristan Gemmill) turned up for his ex wife's mother's funeral.
