@@pombitxo7713A quad with a Twist throttle is nearly impossible to ride if you're doing anything that involves tight cornering...(Racing Motocross, Enduro, ect....) When you're taking a sharp left meaning you have to lean and slide to the left side of your seat, it makes twisting the throttle back very awkward and like i said earlier, dann near impossible... Even right hand corners are awkward... Only thing a twist is good for on a quad is if your only going to ride it in a straight line...

I had a street legal quad 05 honda Trx 450r a little under 50 rwhp on dyno max speed 80mph on highway fully pinned and that shit would start floating! Thing was a blast in the city, I loved drifting with it and really leaning into the turns and whipping that thing sideways!

I wish we could set a quad up for the street in the states and legally ride it around like a motorcycle! I saw a Honda trx450r in German that had +2 per side extended a-arms, +4 swing arm, wider axle, upgraded shocks front and rear valved for the street and it was sitting much lower than stock and was on street tires. It looked really cool. The guy had the engine built up a bit but nothing like this! His was around 60 HP to the wheels. It was plenty fast on the street but this would kill it in a race.

You guys might be right I thought physics would be in quads favour since it's more contact with the surface.
In 2012 to current ones Yamaha introduced a 6 stage traction control that can be turned on or off. It’s great for cornering and power take offs. Even with it off or older models the weight distribution of the R1 to the rear end gives you more traction. A quad with that kind of horsepower due to its light rear end would break loose and be a bad ass drift machine. Even if you put weight on the quad to the front and rear for it to launch out of the hole it would be to heavy to take an R1. I’ve seen videos of these quads converted to 1000 and they are wicked cool, it would be bad ass to own one. Great conversation though, stay safe out there 💯🤙🏼✌🏼
The stock raptor is actually lighter than the R1 (422lbs vs 439lbs). Plus the Raptor has a ton more contact patch vs the bike. Aerodynamics would kill the quad up top. Would love to see the actual results.
