I wish they'd just revert to Fallout 4's build style. Half of everyone's bloody camps are floating anyways. Who cares if we have free standing walls? Speaking of walls, Where the Hell are all of the building objects from Fallout 4? They obviously exist in the game files, and had been usable in the build menu. I doubt it'd be that difficult or time consuming/costly for them to add those in. I, for one, enjoyed the scrappy style that Fallout 4 had, especially for Raider builds. It'd make a good contrast between Settler players and Raider players for Wastelanders, But I suppose that ship has sailed.

Also, How do you manage to destroy bases? Bethesda removed that with Wild Wasteland, and then removed it entirely when they removed survival?
Sniper Fox There is always a way to make it look natural. You can use the posts to make it look like it’s on stilts. But the on block on the ground with a staircase with a building on top I can’t stand. I been playing sense Bata. I know we’re most of the spawns are at. You would be surprised how easy it is to drag a mob to someone’s base and destroy it.

I been playing sense the game left beta and I didn’t even know you could do that thing with the blue print to get your crops closer together. I always like to watch how other people put their bases together. There is always something to learn. Also people shouldn’t stress about having a locked door. There is actually no way to keep someone out of your base if someone wants to get into it. You don’t even need to lock pick the door. You can literally glitch throw any wall or door in like 5 seconds. I personally love to get into all your lock downs and judge your decorations. Then sleep in your bed. Also the little generator is the best thing I have ever bought out of the atom shop. If you don’t own it go buy it right now.
Learned that the hard way when some lvl +200 started blasting all over my my little lvl 15 CAMP house after breaking into it glitching through the window. After that I never put chairs or workbenches too close to the windows. Not a nice experience
@@BGomez-tk7lu I haven’t played in months so I can’t say if this still works but they can just power armor glitch through your wall they don’t need to go through a widow or use your workbench or chair. I can literally power armor glitch through a mountain. It’s also they easiest way to get throw the silo.
Did you know that you can use the defense stand emplacements, (the bigger wooden ones with the stairs) to sink things into the ground a bit? You place the stand down, then you can place some things next to it, then use it like the rug glitch to move things around and even sink it into the ground a bit. Very useful for those annoying things that will float when not on completely flat ground.
I’ve found lining up a foundation next to a existing structure allows you to reinforce the walls and put in doorways. I made a house using a barn outside Charleston that way
Using blueprints I managed to make a really nice detailed base, you just have to break it up into sections, max out the blueprint, save it as a part, say middle/front door for example, with the camp budget as it is now you can effectively make a modular camp for whenever/whatever you need its just a little harder to setup since foundations larger than 2x1 can have an issue snapping with other foundations just make sure nothing clips and voila, portable premade camp. Just when placing down you have to store the blueprint the game makes for you when moving so you dont end up spending double resource, modular bases! a fun little thing to try out.
Hey Davey, if you place a foundation with a 2nd snapped to it, snap a 'defence' barrier to it, you can delete the foundation with the barrier attached, followed by the other foundation, to be left with a floating barrier. You can repeat this on the same spot but different heights to stack the barriers and make a wall. Or place a concrete barrier/tire wall/etc underneath to make a funky barricade :)
I just stoped playing again but your previous videos did helped evwn used the shack like you did but on my second character. Found that very inspiring and clever. :)

I can't wait for Bethesda to finish it's new game engine in relation to Fallout. While I love that dedicated hardcore builders can learn/memorize the literal spells required to build awesome bases. I really do wish that it, 'just worked', and you could just build. Even fallout4s building engine worked better

I just recently did a video on a seedy shack camp I did with a LOT of combined/sunken items :) the easiest way to do it is to stack whatever you want to combine on top of each other and find a spot in your camp where they can 'sink' into the ground a bit. You then hit build and the bottom item will hop back to the surface of the ground and the item on top will stay put, thereby sinking in, if that makes sense? if not, I can try to do a quick video on how to do that and how to add more stuff to display cases as well :)
The only problem with planting the same type of crops too close to each other is that they're likely to all get damaged by the same attack. If that happens, you don’t have access to more of the same crop to repair them. I tend to spread mine around for insurance.
Pringle the game had a really rough start as well as some bad PR fiascos. The game is in a good spot right now, with some bugs here and there but enjoyable overall
Ugh I should have know this with the corn. I couldn't place anything under my stairs but with a blueprint I was able to put some stacked tires with a plant on top under it.
Build what ever you want on the floor below where your stairs will be, then destroy it with a flame turret. Next, place your stairs down, then go repair everything

To a certain extent, yes. Also, claim the public workbenches. Claiming your first public workbench will grant you many of the main essentials, like the defences Davey was showing with the stairs. Then each one afterwards will typically grant you at least one base building plan, like the barn building plans for example. I would suggest following the main story until you get to Morgantown Airport before you really start going further afield.
Take a look at your ammo and make sure your not lugging around missiles and mini nukes or fusion cores in your inventory or stash unless you use them. Gun powder is stored in misc and is heavy as shit. If I cant use it all to make ammo right away then I usually only keep about 250 on hand. Don't keep any aid/non perishable food if you aren't using it. Go to your junk stash and sort by weight. Have a look at the heaviest stuff. Do you really need hundreds of glass/aluminium etc. Bulk and sell or dump. I dumped/sold a tonne of cloth/glass/ceramic/wood/steel/cork/leather and even sold a bunch of gears springs acid and antiseptic. I've only been playing off and on for a month. Stash limit drives me nuts. Maybe the above is the worst you can do but I'm a major looter/hoarder in Bethesda games and my way seems to work for me for now.

I am a newbie, only been playing for two weeks now. In that time have only had folks give me things, no griefing at all. So far a very positive experience with the playerbase. I definitely recommend the game.

there will always be shitty people in games but the community in fo76 is surprisingly kind. I spend most of my extra time giving new players gear, chems, etc :) I've likewise had higher level players give my alts free gear, legendaries, etc. On occasion, you'll bump into some asshole who thinks he's more of a badass than he is, but it's a rare occurrence.

You would think that a game with building would have more freedom with limit n height and width..... But you know...... Bethesda.. So that's why you have to build stairs... In order to place a structure.... In order to place another structure that you just wanted to use from the get go. Sigh.
@@MrMmmmmmBrains Moving and rotating the actual camp module in build mode seems to pretty much randomly change the spawn point, so you can try and fiddle with that. Other than that just pray and hope they finally add the "tast travel target"-mat.

if you place them and then move so you're looking at them from the side, you can get them sheer to most walls

Ps you can also do multi turmnals for each door just need differnt power supply’s cuse it will pick up more then one on the same grid
You can snap walls to the perimeter walls as well, even the garage door but they have to be high enough

How do you relocate your camp. I wanna move it across the map. Not within the green square where it exists already ?
Create a blueprint of the structures of your camp. When you move they'll be saved in 'blueprints' and you can place it again in the new location

I was building bigger camps but the these prebuilt homes I might just build mobile camps. Since, they just came out with the log cabin bundle today.
What is that little block the turret was on top of? And they need to bring back the tire walls for the atom shop.

It's not really "preorder". There is one new planter box in each of the Raider and Settler add on bundles that can be bought separately

you can repair your entire base by going to the c.a.m.p module - you don't need to individually repair items

Npc traders, especially the one in harpers ferry, player vendors, and events.
you can get all the npc traders in the shopping area of whitespring now - so no need to travel anywhere else for most of the plans

all the stash boxes, many of the posters, lights and plants can be found ingame - for the atom store stuff you can just earn by doing the achievements
Remember when you couldn't rotate roofs, walls, and other stuff like those.

Why do you literally have no caps? You get caps for so much stuff now; I’m spending like there’s no tomorrow and yet I still have almost 10K caps.

@@MrMmmmmmBrains Moving and rotating the actual camp module in build mode seems to pretty much randomly change the spawn point, so you can try and fiddle with that. Other than that just pray and hope they finally add the "tast travel target"-mat.
I'm still waiting for that stupid hippo to move out as he's messing with my island's vibes - I'm THIS close to buying an amibo card off amazon and getting rid of him that way
