WTF! Ok, I just watched him do watchtower and freaked out. Now he is doing a skynard song and killing it? Where have you been hiding dude? Great job and please keep it up!
Lol, I just was thinking the same thing. It started with his Purple Rain, than Watchtower, and now this! And, I'm a HUGE Skynyrd fan. My wife was the young secretary at Fame Studios during their time in Muscle Shoals.
My ex was a blues muso n I sent some of Jays music n he was over the moon & has started doing these songs. We are still close & we still share music. I really miss him playing everyday even after all these years. Thank God for digital technology. Jay Howie is one amazing dude.
Just brilliant yet again. An inspiring musician to those who do not want to sound like everyone else.I have been playing for many years now but still inspires me to keep trying something new.. Awesome work and much respect from me.
I would love to sit by the fire with you and your guitar! I love the way you make em your own version but still keep that classic original in there. Art at its best. Thanks for sharing it ❤️
Ronnie, And all the Skynyrd departed band members are all smiling down on you Jay. 😊. Thanks again for an awesome performance. You manage to keep true to your cover songs as they were originally written, yet always put your own personal twist & soul into playing / singing them. Been a fan of yours ever since stumbling onto your original ( 10 year old plus) version of Hey Joe . Keep on playing & sharing your talents man, you make the world a better place in return. 👍👍
I’m really glad that someone is carrying on the tradition of true music you know us generation Xers and the people before our generation are dying off so we we have to continue to teach our children to carry on this style of music because it’s some of the best music ever made. I’m gonna grown up in the 80s hanging out in a little backseat at my mom’s Honda accord about 8483 and that’s riding around to Duran Duran and listening to Crosby stills and Nash and Lynyrd Skynyrd on our way down to Florida for those were the days
I'm 75 yo and Dylan and Hendrix still "round my brain"...your watchtower awesome... you bring me back to the "the village" in 1963 listening to Dave van Ronk....keep singin'
This dude blows me away, what an inspiring passion. I stopped listening to music for around 10 years due to a real bad depression but this man along with a few good others have re sparked my love of music. I thought i had heard all i wanted to but even at my age the flame can be lit again. Thanks Jay. ❤
Jay....you're a helluva singer and a player. Transpose this into live shows, Son!! The world needs to know you!! I'll be watching out for your Music....Very cool stuff!
A lot of respect to Jay, the interpretation of the old classic Songs from him ,the way to playing the guitar and his voice. Great!!! I love his style. Keep goin on.
I wish I could hear you rip that Les Paul on the lead parts. I'm a Les Paul Jr lover. I can get any tone I want with that one pickup. I donate a tele with a P90 like a LP Jr and it's a winner also. Playing with fingers instead of a pick is the most raw form of ripping tone.
Please do a cover of this with the acoustic playing on a loop. I want to hear you playing those solo bits on your electric. Your vocals sound awesome on this tune & it's been one of my very favorites since I first heard this tune. I think I was around 7 or 8 years old. I'm 56 now. I really hope you consider it. Peace.. Joe

Wonderful rendition with a great, raspy tone -- both vocals and guitars. Almost as good as the original.

This is by far one of my favorite by Skynyrd.. Not many people know this song. Thank you for covering it. Great tune brother
