    The brushless motor is why this is so energy efficient. I've confirmed it by testing it with my power meter, then compared a similar fan.. Its a great desk fan and can even use it to cool your tea or coffee. Its not a gimmick, its the real deal. This might be good for someone in an R.V. camper or somebody off grid using only solar.

    Thank for this review! So thorough. Very helpful for you to have mentioned how this can work effectively in the winter, the smart plug compatibility, and the built in battery!

    I was very sceptical when I saw this fan at the hardware store given the price, but I bought it because I was fed up with my cheap fan being too loud even in low mode. Very glad I did, this thing is great, moves enough air to make sleeping in the summer comfortable at the lowest, inaudible setting. It also only draws something like 2W at the lowest setting, unlike regular AC motors (mostly capacitor motors in older fans) that waste a lot of energy at lower power settings.

    I wish Noctua made desk fans. I have a feeling they could knock Vornado out of the park when comes to pushing enough air at low speeds with minimal noise. Unfortunately this is the quietest desk fan for the price for now. At it's lowest speed it makes no noise but barely pushes any air. So to push it enough to get air going it has a small rumbling sound.

    I am fat and i sweat a lot. This ventilator really cools my room. I‘ am sitting in my kitchen we have 30 Grad in Germany right now the other ventilator i have, i put away and got the vornado in the room, what a difference, from sweating i feel a little cold right now. My rooms are not big so i cant tell how good it would work in a great room. On full power it gets loud but i dont need that. It has no timer and it cant spinn but it moves the air so well that i dont need the spinning. I also habe 10 Years of warrenty thats great. I like it.

    What is the CFM rating, btw? Couldn't find the spec. Was trying to compare to the 660's 584 CFM. I just bought a 660 but, damn it, that rheostat fan speed dial looks pretty handy.

    if you have a power conditioner, try using it with your fan. It makes the motor quieter.

    The front grill of this unit must be blocking a good 40% of the total area that the air originates from, not sure how you would go about improving that without making the grill "flimsy" and unsubstantial.

    • @ThePentosin

      That's part of the design, not just for looks.
      It's slightly angled, so it's less restrictive than it looks.

      The grill creates a spiral vortex that can cross a large room. Hence the name.

      There is a screw behind the front logo so you can remove the front cover to clean the blades. And then, 3 screws in the back so you can remove and clean the grill. If you go to Amazon and look at this product, you can see the User manual (PDF) under the section Product guide and manual.

    • @lasagnapepeeno
      @lasagnapepeeno 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      753 isn't part of the energy smart series I don't think. The four fans in this series draw very few watts (the compact desktop draws 1.1 watts on low). 753 might be stronger and cheaper but it's not efficient which is the whole point of these.

  • @damiann4734

    Why don't you bring out the thermometer so that you can prove that it works?

    • @griknok
      @griknok 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Fans do not decrease heat so a thermometer wouldn't be the right tool, air flow is what fans produce, so you'd want an anemometer to "prove it works"

    • @damiann4734
      @damiann4734 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@griknok because the concept of moving air from near the ground to ceiling is moving cooler air at bottom to the top so the overall room temperature would average lower. If it's about moving amount of air but does not lower the room temperature then I don't see a valid reason to pay more for this fan. That's I meant by its "working" sorry for the confusion.

    • @griknok
      @griknok 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@damiann4734Ah I see. I think any fan on the ground would have the effect of lifting the cooler air up, however with a non-vortex creating fan that cooler air ends up more in one area of the room than spread about, so you'd need to have the fan pointed more towards you and get a constant stream of air in one direction.
      I just received my 633DC model and was surprised by the air movement where the fan wasn't pointing. It is now just pointed almost straight at the roof, this way it acts a bit like a ceiling fan but on the floor (and obviously without having to permanently modify the room in a house I don't own...)
