I love what covergirl is doing, they're trying new interesting bold products, but they keep the old favorites for their loyal customers. They dont discontinue everything like other brands.
NatashaDawn82 I have never tried much from Covergirl but I am interested in trying more. I was going to start with some of the blushes so this is good to know.
The shadow sticks really have me intrigued. I especially am interested in the matte shades and light shimmers for a quick every day look. Thank you for opening my eyes to the options.
Look out for the KiKo eyeshadow sticks. They are fabulous and they tend to have new shades every now and then. I believe they are a couple of dollars less than these too.
@@christinatrent55 KiKo are an Italian brand. They have stores in the UK but only two stores in the US, I believe. However, when I buy from either country I use their website. They always have deals on, sometimes up to 70% off certain items. I recommend you try their eyeshadow sticks, the Water Eyeshadows. Their blush and bronzers come in huge pans. I recommend looking on TH-cam for swatches and new collections as well. Their packaging is great, even the basic range but the lipsticks in the £7/$8 price range come in magnetic aluminium tubes, gorgeous!
Hi Emily, Wow Cover Girl has been really stepping up their game. I agree with the really bulky packaging though not too travel friendly! I would depot the shadows into a smaller palette. Btw congratulations on a baby boy.
When I was at Walmart a couple of weeks ago I saw the outer packaging of the new Covergirl eyeshadow palettes and was drawn in, I am a sucker for pretty packaging. I bought both Reign and Revolution. When I opened the eye shadow palettes when I got home, I was a little disappointed by the very small pans. I have used both palettes already and both are very nice, the shadows are very pigmented. Covergirl has some really good products. I am very interested in the smaller palette. I love Covergirl eyeshadows for the most part.
Hey Emily! Just started watching but when you were talking about the shadow sticks, I was thinking about when I swatched them during a haul video last Sunday and I was swatching them next to the Mally shadow sticks. I went to wash them off and it took a little bit of scrubbing with a BBW foaming soap but they came off almost completely in little flakes. The Mally ones were still going strong and wouldn't budge! Maybe it was the soap, haha! Also I hate the packaging of the new palettes...so much wasted space inside!
Can we get a best and worst of eyeshadow stick / cream eyeshadow video? Would love to hear your thoughts on the Kiko ones too! Not enough people talk about Kiko but they have free shipping in the US at $15+ and have some great products! They're also on Amazon Prime
The shadow sticks look like definite winners but too bad about the glitter toppers and the fallout! Sometimes the Stila Glitter & Glow shadows do that for me too. One solution I've found is to tap over the shadows once they've dried with a flat brush dampened with setting spray. Keeps the glitter from going everywhere throughout the day. Thank you for that amazing comprehensive review!!😊💕
When the video started, I thought you looked absolutely gorgeous. I just paused the video at 1:36 which is just after you explained what you have on before starting the try-on because I just HAD to tell you that the way you look right now is spectacular! I encourage you to have the confidence of doing your day with this look if you were struggling with time.
Emily, thank you so much for this great review, as always! I have been wanting to try Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks, but they are $30. At $9.99, these shadow sticks are a third of the price and seem comparable! Here are the shade name translations for Ulta's site: Primadonna - 900 matte neutral bone Stuck Up - 905 matte pinky beige Frivolous - 920 shimmery inner corner shade Leading Lady - 910 matte taupey brown Lush - 930 shimmer brown Unruly - 960 plum shimmer Mogul - 950 midnight blue shimmer Sweet Life - 935 bronze shimmer
These cream shadow sticks have definitely peaked my interest. I like the neutral color selection & matte to shimmer ratio which is nice. I've wanted to try shadow sticks but the high end versions are like $25 a stick & that's the price of a high end palette for just 2 so I balked. But these I'd be willing to pick up a couple or 3. Possibly to use as an eye base if they dont irritate my eyes or crease which has been my issue with cream shadow in the past. As I'm almost 60 now I'm finding that cream products are easier & more flattering to my dry, thinning skin as long as they set & aren't too greasy. Thanks Emily for another thorough review of an affordable brand ♡
Emily, I have bad panic attacks, and I love to rewatch your videos when I wake up in the middle of the night from a nightmare. It's like having a conversation with a friend. Thank you for your beautiful energy and your positive vibes! Sending a big hug from Boston! 💕
Fantastic review, Emily!! Those shadow sticks are calling my name 💗 Thank you for all of the great info, I have been wanting to see what these palettes look like and how they perform. Might try a glitter or 2 also... Well done, Beautiful Chica!! 💞
This combination of colors in your eye shadow look was absolutely gorgeous. Really loved the purple and blue and appreciated learning more about shadow sticks since I've never used them much. Thanks for another really wonderful video.
I love this video! I just ordered 3 of the cream shadow sticks based on a review from Shelby Wilson ( haven’t received them yet). . Then I saw this review and I was so nervous to hear your opinion! So glad you liked them!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻👏🏻😍
Hi Emily! I love your eye makeup and most likely will be recreating it. However I am not fond of wearing foundation and do not wear it often. Could you do a video where you give some ideas about how to wear color(s) on eyes and no foundation or minimal base? I do enjoy wearing a blush. Love, N.
I'm so glad I bought that Trunaked Queenship palette, because it's a combination of all of the palettes. I'm glad to hear that it is a great palette, & well pigmented.
I love the idea of the new packaging, outside it looks less "drugstore-y", but I really dislike the wasted space inside. It could've been much smaller.
Hi Emily - can you try the new Jordana concealer?? Saw it at Walgreens today and it claims to be full coverage and light weight! I want to see you put it to the test! xoxo
Emily, love your review as always! 😁 Could you do a updated eyeshadow palettes tag (like each year?) I'm on a eyeshadow low low buy this year, so I really interested in your idea in a more curated form. Thank you!
I really want those mat shadow sticks! Thank you Emily 😁 and thank you for your energy 🥰 from the moment I click on your video I feel your energy. Like a ray of optimism 🤗
I just recently discovered You and I’m honestly surprised I haven’t heard of you before. I love how you mix and match all the colors in the pallet instead of playing it save and worrying about messing up your look. Very honest and informative
I love that purple. I can see myself picking up the reign pallet. I'm not sure if I'd try the stick shadows. Maybe for a quick make-up application. I prefer using pallets because you have a more complete eye look. The glitters look cool 👍. I might try one of those.
Ok yep it’s time to play with some purple and gold this summer. 💜💛 (btw yay for blowpops I always have to grab one at the reception desk where I work lol)😆

I love a cream shadow! I purchased several of the wet n wild cream eyeshadow sticks and was disappointed by the staying power but your glowing recommendation has me wanting to try the covergirl ones.
I'm interested in the cream shadow sticks. I've been testing out different ones lately (Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier and Nudestix) and am interested to see how the Covergirl sticks stack up against the others. I'm afraid I'm beyond the glittery stuff. Good review though.
I want to try cream shadow sticks. Recently I started using the Ulta brand matte cream eyeshadows with the doe foot applicator. Very nice, and long lasting. Always enjoy hearing your thoughts about new products, and of course the demonstration. Blessings, and love, EMily..MaryEllen
MaryEllen After 60 I have the Ulta brand contour stick and actually like that for eyeshadow better than the Ulta brand eye shadow sticks. It went in pretty creamy
Anxious for the color sticks, right now I am loving NYX, and Clinique Shadow Sticks, so anxious to see them. The shadow sticks are so nice when you are in a hurry, they are so easy to use. I use them more than my powder eyeshadows. They are just so user friendly and the ones I use really stay so excited to see how the Cover Girl ones compare.
That second bulky palette reminds me of the old, old Urban Decay Smoked palette, which I remember you also liking a lot. I think they were going for that but missed the mark.
I had an instantly bummed reaction to those Covergirl palettes. I went from excited to disappointed super quick when I realized how little product there was compared to the size of the packaging. Those suckers are NOT cheap. I felt like it was such a missed opportunity for them. Imagine if they had really went there and done full-size pans & utilized all that space! Those shadow sticks look super promising though! Will have to check those out. Thank you for always being so thorough!
Emily, you make beautiful eyeshadow looks out of any products. Kudos to your mad skills. I have less real estate on my eyelids. I can’t replicate your looks, but I love your review videos. Love you!
I have the trunaked dazed pallet that is like the smaller one you mentioned but it's all shimmer and bright colors. It reminds me of reign but much better packaging. I use a color at a time when I want an accent color.
-I love cream shadow because I have sensitive eyes and with powder shadows micro flakes of powder fall into my eyes. -I’m glad covergitl came out with a stila glitter eye cream as the price is high for one shadow but the effect is stunning. -I love when drugstore tries to dupe high end products.
You answered every thought I had about these palettes! They were all opened at my walmart🤣 luckily no one stuck a finger in, but at least I could have a look at them!
Perhaps a glitter glue would help the super glittery shades not have fallout? Also, cherry blowpops are the best flavor! To me cherry anything is the best! 🍒
I LOVE the look of the palettes but kind of sad when you open them and the pans look like that...BUT i mean it is just preference. Outer packaging is gorgeous though

Your reviews always brighten my day! You’re a ray of sunshine. 🌞 Could you please review Maybellines’s new Dream Urban Cover foundation? I’ve heard it may be a dupe for It CC cream. Ahhh! 💜
Oh my goodness I don’t know if I want a shadow stick to stay THAT well! Ha! Shelby Wilson was saying the same thing too about these. If makeup doesn’t come off fairly well for me (especially mascara) then I don’t use it because I don’t want to damage skin or lashes getting it off. I wonder if putting them over a primer would help it remove better, which sounds contradictory lol but with the way they cling, maybe on bare skin they would adhere like skin! Pretty colors though! Drugstore needs shadow sticks. Revlon shadow pots are pretty but so bulky!
Hi Emily! It would be so helpful if you did several eye tutorials using different types/formulations of eyeshadow sticks and liquids. For example, I've never known how to use purples, cranberries or emerald green sticks and liquids in the "outer 7" or outer edges of the eyes. I'd really like to use these brilliant colors as I do regular powder eyeshadows; I just don't know how - do you use a brush? If so, what type helps create the "outer 7 or L"?
I was gonna pick up one of the new Covergirl palettes but then i saw Allie Gines video and was least impressed ! I decided on reviewing other irems. Love your Alladin review !
I really like that eyeshadow look you did in this video. Good colour combinations. I think falsies would have looked amazing with that look. I'm not a cream shadow fan myself. Never been able to get them to work on me right.
The shadow sticks have color names. They are Primadonna (light vanilla), Stuck-Up (I think this one is the pinky nude), Frivolous (looks like maybe the shimmer champaigne color), Leading Lady (taupe), Lush (also a beige nude), Unruly (the mauvy/purply color), Mogul (maybe a green/blue), Sweet Life (this could also be the shimmery champaigne color). It's hard to tell from the website, and only the color names are showing on the screen. Currently, Stuck-up and Leading Lady are out of stock. Hope this helps.
i’ve been looking for a way to try a stila glitter without having to seriously put out over $20 for ONE SHADE 😒... thank you covergirl! i’ve been loving the whole “back to shimmer” thing happening this spring/summer so far! ☀️
That covergirl pallette trunaked sunsets is one of my favorites I literally use at least one shade out of it almost everyday. I was so excited when I heard you mention it, I dont think it gets enough love lol
Zjah Zjah Slater I agree. I started a summer monthly cruelty free series on my channel. One of the months I plan on doing Covergirl. Tomorrow I am talking about leaping bunny vs peta.
I've always liked CG eyeshadows, but their foundations are usually too deep for my fair skin. But now I strongly support the company because they went cruelty free. It was very surprising (in a good way), to see such a large brand go completely cruelty free. I'm definitely trying those shadow sticks!
I love what covergirl is doing, they're trying new interesting bold products, but they keep the old favorites for their loyal customers. They dont discontinue everything like other brands.

I'm not a cream shadow fan myself. Never been able to get them to work on me right.
I’m liking the shadow stick idea. I’m going to order some. I was actually waiting on your review before I buy! 💐💐💗💗💗
Hey Emily can you make a tutorial using ABH sultry palate?
Have you tried the glittery shadows with a glitter glue? Can you do an update video on the new things you've tried after a while?
LSU! Yesssss! Love this purple and gold combination❤️
Geaux Tigers!
Thank You for reviewing these I have been very curious and was definitely hoping you would review these. ❤️❤️
hey emily, I bought youre palette the needs and wants, I live in the netherlands, can you do a european look with youre palettes? greatings hanny
What would a European look be like? Just curious as an American.😊
@@crisr615 christen dominic did a tutorial about that subject, she is better in explaning than me. greatings
@@hannyklopmeijer2863 thanks for the reply! Have a great day.😄
It's less full coverage, more natural, not so professional, no falsies. Not so much make up, actually.
Wow, your skin look looks fabulous today!
This is a great review. Appreciate the thoroughness. I’m interested in the cream sticks 🙌🏽
i’ve been looking for a way to try a stila glitter without having to seriously put out over $20 for ONE SHADE 😒... thank you covergirl! i’ve been loving the whole “back to shimmer” thing happening this spring/summer so far! ☀️
I got one of the glitter shadows at my local cvs last weekend. And I saw the queenship palette there too.
I thought they were walmart exclusive, those palettes?
Can't edit my post, but it's the other palettes that are at walmart
That covergirl pallette trunaked sunsets is one of my favorites I literally use at least one shade out of it almost everyday. I was so excited when I heard you mention it, I dont think it gets enough love lol
Zjah Zjah Slater I agree. I started a summer monthly cruelty free series on my channel. One of the months I plan on doing Covergirl. Tomorrow I am talking about leaping bunny vs peta.
I'm excited about those sticks! Thank you for trying on and reviewing them. 😊
I love that you talk about practicality of packaging
Yay!! Drugstore shadow sticks 👏👏
Those larger palettes are such a missed opportunity. Im sooo excited for the shadow sticks and liquid glitters however!!!
Wow I have never been this early! Love you Emily! Congratulations on the baby boy 😘❤️
Thank you!!! I am so excited! :D
The overthrown palette reminds me so much of the urban decay smoked palette
I've always liked CG eyeshadows, but their foundations are usually too deep for my fair skin. But now I strongly support the company because they went cruelty free. It was very surprising (in a good way), to see such a large brand go completely cruelty free. I'm definitely trying those shadow sticks!
