It’s basically a campaign from what I saw with its own story it’s just with the addition of a player controlled ghost. And it could be single player as it has offline potential as well
I'll pick it up when it pops into a humble bundle.

But isn't crossplay is available? I mean you should be able to find ps player if playin on xbox?
The game is in alpha and you got early access and you complaining about modes
It looks fun. Maybe that high level guy was a dev testing high level balance against low level players.
