Lucas Hedges and Timothee Chamalet are two actors to really watch out for. Both going to go soo far with their careers.
@@serenitybeats1677 well they have at least talent. What have you got?
I hope he stays this humble. Really interesting actor who picks great projects.
Alex Daniel I got to meet him on Broadway after his play and he’s seriously such a nice and humble guy!
Alex Daniel He Better since he has daddy to thank for funding his career
@@madelinenielsen3532 At least he has talent. So many actors are only famous because of their famous parents. This is not at all uncommon.
Yishai Thau True. But like Maya Hawke no matter how good he is he still has his family connection backing him up. A lot of talented people who have potential are restricted because of people like him
Madeline Nielsen I think it’s pretty inflammatory to say that it’s his fault that people can’t get a career in acting because of his own doing. He was born in a family with connections, how’s that his fault? If you were in his shoes and had his passion, would you not go for acting and take the chances you can?
Hedges’ role in mid90s was an amazing character that introduced me to him, can’t wait to see what else he does :)
Fr, I discovered him both in Mid 90s and Lady bird. Totally different characters didn’t even recognize him
Everyone is criticizing him for this video, but he literally admitted right in the beginning of the video that he doesn't see his roles as iconic. If anyone should be criticized here it should be GQ, not Lucas.
Him, Timothée Chalamet and Alex Wolff are some of the most talented young actors
Lucas is way more talented than those people (just watch honey boy-Ben is back-Manchester by the sea pff)
Chill with all of this criticism. The guy has had a momentous childhood career and more! Already nominated for an Academy Award! He'll only get better.
ok but he hasn't played any "iconic characters" it's just typical hollywood hyperbolic crap
His role in MBTS was riveting and quite iconic given his age and budding experience in the movie industry. I don't think I could have the honor of being nominated for an Oscar at the mere age of twenty.
@@moisemensah8233 I don't think he was THAT good in it, definitely didn't warrant an Oscar nomination. I think the movie was very popular in awards season and he was able to ride that wave. The other actors DID deserve their nominations tho. I think a better actor would've done more with the part.
@Ryan AkwarI really can't comment on Tye Sheridan, as I've only seen him in the X-men movies, and he didn't really have that much to do. I know he also does a lot of indie films but I haven't seen any of them.
How is he only 21?? Looking forward to a long and illustrious career to come , Lucas!
apple's lover no, He’s 21. He is born in 1996, hasn’t turned 22 yet. Born in December
His parents are in the business. He just got this success by nepotism
@@madelinenielsen3532 he's very talented. a lot of parents of nowadays actors are in the business, not many of them got even a little bit successful. besides, his father is director, but he's not a super big director, it's not like he's a son of scorsese or something
Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Manchester by the Sea, & Lady Bird are dope films!
Boy Erased looks cool. Lucas Hedges just keeps getting better as an actor.
Incredible interview. One of my favorite young actors out here.
Lucas has a diverse roster of roles under his belt. I’m so excited to see his next few performances!!
Arielle J No thanks to the connections his parents pay for or have
if i was an actor i would want his career its lowkey enough to keep your privacy and abundant enough to get well written gigs..like the directors he has worked with is amazing
He's been very active in the last 3 years. Very happy for him. Wish him the best.
To the people here talking about "nepotism"...does it occur to you that someone who grew up in a theatrical family of writers and actors might, you know, go into acting? That the son of a writer and an actress might be more likely to go into acting than would the child of laborers? That such a young person might show an aptitude for it, because that's the environment in which he grew up? Was Jane Fonda's successful career secondary to nepotism? Jeff Bridges's? Miguel Ferrer's?
Hedges is good. He's thoughtful and subtle. His father's authorship of What's Eating Gilbert Grape and directing of some films might have helped open some doors for him, but if he hadn't been up to the demands of a film like Manchester by the Sea, he would have been replaced within the first week of shooting.
Lucas is really good. And I think especially for Ben is back or boy erased he’s the best choice for the role. He’s deserving of the advantages he had and will have. And to not take those advantages would be dumb.
They all talk about it too, they're so open about it and don't downplay that that's how they got to be where they are.
protect this precious man at all cost
You should do this for directors too
I agree and I feel it'd be more interesting. It'd be fun to have them talk about a bit about the creative process of great films.
I saw mid90s at tiff and shoutout to Lucas he killed it
This guy is so humble and talented
Someone messed up the editing at 11:48 - 11:53
I’ve been smoking a bowl watching this I thought the weed was a lil too strong n my ears broke for a second
he seems so genuine
Just watched his new movie Ben is Back, omg it was amazing he is a brilliant actor, as I noticed in Lady Bird and Manchester by the Sea. Can't wait to watch more of him!
Phenomenal video! Very intriguing. I love hearing the backstory ❤️thank you for this GQ
This is absolutely amazing. I would watch 2 hours of this!
I need timothee to do this!
Aaron Davis huh funny last time I checked I’ve seen him in 12 movies but thanks sis
😶 I’m a Timothee stan too but homeboy has major parts in like 4 movies max, he’ll get there in time...sis
Aaron Davis well I didn’t exactly ask for one right this second and seeing as he’s filming movies nonstop by the time he could do this he will have more....
This was so interesting! Its nice to have a little bit of insight into his characters.
Wow - great for this young man! What a career already. Stay humble and kind and keep putting out the hits!!!
That was some really interesting back story! He goes really in depth with it to share with us!
One of the greatest actors of this generation! Love this dude, good to see his career just going up!
I love him since Manchester by the sea! I loved his role in Mid90s and Ladybird
hes been on so many iconic movies amazing actor and he's everywhere love it
So underrated and deserves an Oscar!!!
manchester by the sea is such a good movie
One of my favorite young actors 🤍 and just realized that i’ve watched almost all of his movies.
love this guy, loved him in lady bird, boy erased and mid'90s. I really loved these movies and love him in them.
Fight Night is definitely Norton's most iconic movie
Maybe he was afraid of calling it by its real name because that would be breaking the first rule, no? 😉
i could listen to him talk for hours..
He's such a great actor. ❤️ him
Wow, this kid is pretty special. So genuine, so eloquent.
I like him, he seems like a really intelligent guy and is seeking to improve all the time
i absolutely love his range of characters
omfg I want the playlists Greta gerwig made everyone
I love this kind of content!
This was special. Thanks guys
My man Lucas! Excited for his career
He is so incredibly talented. I love seeing him on the big screen.
I love him!!! He’s so talented ♥️
Aw he's so precious I love this.
Lucas was dope in Mid 90s fr, he’s a great actor the way he has the capability to be different characters in different movies.
He is an icon. Haters in the comments can go to sleep.
It’s honestly freaky how much Hedges role as the older brother of Stevie, Ian, in Mid90’s reminded me of my own older brother and my relationship with him growing up. My brother was always kind of distant and awkward too, and had anger issues similar to Ian’s as well. In spite of all of that though, there was still this weird unspoken bond between us where it was clear he cared about me and wanted what’s best for me regardless of our extreme differences, and I truly think Lucas portrayed that kind of relationship perfectly on screen.
Yo what. This is the first time I've heard of Honey Boy. So stoked about this. Shia with his own movie and Lucas w him? So stoked
That opening joke was amazing. There was no denying his performance as a supporting character in Manchester by the sea, mid90s or lady bird but yeah he is surrounded by other great leading performances. He's so great to recognize his roles are mostly supporting.
What a lineup wow, every film just smashes it.
Love Lucas Hedges, he is so freaking talented!!! Can't wait to see what else he does, his performances are excellent
please never stop doing these
I really like this guy. Great choices in movies and overall great actor. I will enjoy watching his career as we get older.
He’s only successful because his parents are in the business. I mean he was cast in a movie his father directed
@@madelinenielsen3532 why do you keep commenting on every comment thats supportive of him, we get it, he's a nepo baby.
i love how for every movie he goes "that was the happiest moment of my life/career" HAHAH what a guy! i really loved him in lady bird and manchester by the sea. definitely one to watch.
Brooooo i did not realize how many iconic movies this guy was in wow he’s so awesome.
I MET HIM ON THE STREET AND I COULDN'T REMEMBER HIS NAME aaahhhh dang it
do GQ staff not even bother to watch these videos before they release them? whats with the edit at 11:43 its just unprofessional.
I didn't think he'd talk about Mid90s- my favourite film of TIFF and Lucas Hedges was playing such a different character to ever before.
Lucas is so young and yet he appeared in so many important movies of the last decade
This guy is a Legend
i love him, he´s so talented
Such an amazing actor !
I think I’m in love with him lol
He is amazing in Ben is back.
l'm loving him more and more.
this guy is so awsome !im a fan
dear god just love lucas so much
Yes, the content I needed
He’s just incredible
The idea of these videos is to show the actors' most iconic roles, not roles by iconic actors
Love how he speaks about Julia Roberts! They both are so good in Ben is back, the whole cast is great 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!
that was amazing. quite the career
A movie with him, timothee chalamet, Daniel kaluuya directed by the Safdie Brothers oh man I’d love to watch that
This guy is next level. Look at his line ups. Honey boy was awesome.
he seems so genuine and lovely and thoughtful
One of the best of our time
Oh chill, so what that he hasn't been in many movies and isn't that known yet, it's still a cool interview! I would also love to see Saoirse Ronan or Jennifer Lawrence break down their characters, they played so many interesting roles!
i love him so :( much :(
This dude seems super humble
He’s an INCREDIBLE actor
My favorite Edward Norton movie, Fight Night.
I love him so so so so much
Humble kid!
YMS loves this guy 😂
I love him in Moonrise Kingdome
You killing stuff bro 😤 just watched Waves and you were so good 💰 I wanna be friends some day 🤞🏼
He is just so... beautiful.
I’m in love with him😁👌🏼
anyone know what t-shirt he is wearing ?
I love this guy
He gives me a young Ethan hawke vibe
very great actor!
Who else thinks he looks like Jesse Eisenberg and Carson Wentz had a lovechild
“Did you catch the game” 😭
it'd be cool if you guys started doing a directors version where directors break down their most iconic films
PAUL THOMAS ANDERSON PLEAE
This. This would be amazing.
Luca H yes they should definitely do it
YESS BAZ LUHRMANN
George Lucas...Just kidding, there'd only be a couple.
Nah, Lucas director would be cool
