I’ve owned both a ‘22 Mach E Premium RWD and a ‘23 GTPE. The difference between the two is impressive. I completely agree with Nikki that if you want a daily commuter, the Premium is more than sufficient. When driving the GTPE, the car subtly whispers to you to that it can go faster and if you’re not careful, it’s easy to blow past the speed limit without even trying. As I put it, the Premium can go fast. The GTPE is built to do crime. 🤣
As a basic daily commuter, my Mach-E Select is great. I was one of those people who was annoyed at the use of the brand "Mustang" for it when it was announced. But after having mine for over two years, the combination of RWD "happy to break loose in a corner if you floor it" and the rough suspension (I with Magneride was on all of them!) I've come to admit it is "fine" to use the Mustang badge.
I always add blind spot mirrors to my vehicles, you can get them for cheap and they make all the difference. Honestly not sure why they aren't always included, sometimes they are.
They simplified the heating system in the 2023.5 mid-year revision. It’s still a resistive heater, but they eliminated at least one pump and reservoir and can harvest excess heat from the motors leading to better performance in the cold. 🤷♂️
It's a great EV, would've been my 2nd choice recently. AND… it can use v3 Superchargers if needed. Dunno when other EVs will be able to join Ford and Rivian in that J3400 transition.
Love that color. Not gonna be able to afford it for decades, if ever. Bout to drop 25 grand on solar panels. Yes, thanks to you ladies and Energy Sage. Though the solar company I eventually went with is doing some 'used car salesman' style BS, energy sage themselves were pretty helpful. And it's still going to save money in the long run, even with the >= 150% markup and oversized system.
I recognized those roads. I kid you not, you drove within a mile of our house. I have driven every one of those roads in my own Mustang Mach-E (premium). Now we have to re-watch the entire video because we were too busy looking for landmarks the first time and missed the actual review🤣
Me too. I lived in Duvall for 13 years, moved two years ago. When she was commenting on how "this road is better . . . but still not perfect", that's the Snoqualmie Valley crossing on Woodinville-Duvall Rd. which I commuted on when the southern valley crossing flooded for around ten days every winter . . . an hour to travel two miles across that "not perfect" road. And her nav screen showed she was on Union Hill Rd. And I recognized West Snoqualmie Valley Rd. several times. Then 520 through Microsoft Land, and finally Bellevue off 405.
oooh dang do I like that green!! More cars in lovely greens! I got the digital teal in my Ioniq 5 which is a great chameleon-like colour, but I do love that green. Thanks for a great review, as always!
Congratulations on the self improvement. It looks good on you. I am attempting to do the same. It is hard, but I do feel better for it. This looks like a nice option when I change out the Tesla, but the little inconveniences like tax credit and the infotainment system are holding me back. I hope those improve soon as well.
I just traded in my 2017 Bolt EV for a 2024 Mach E Premium AWD Extended Range in grabber blue and the light interior 11/23/24. Absolutely in love. I'm going to miss Dingus, my Bolt that I racked 130K on in just a few short years. It was time for an upgrade to faster charging and a car that's only in my name, not trapped in both my ex-husbands and I. This is my reward for breaking 10 years of self-sacrifice. FREEDOM!
Yes, it is an option…but in the GT the driver really doesn’t get a chance to look up. The passengers love it. The glass does a great job keeping the heat out. No shade needed even at lower latitudes.
And the ride quality. (Have a Mach-E now, and my wife is so tired of the stiff ride that she's ready to get rid of it. I'm looking at ride quality improvements now. Apparently the Magneride suspension that is now standard in the GT is a significant improvement over what we have, but we're not upgrading for that.)
would’ve been funny to see how they explain how a MachE chargers at a tesla supercharger. i have park super close, dangerously close to the charger for the cord to barely make it. the mache has its charge port too far away from the front.
I came VERY close to purchasing a Hyundai Ioniq but needed a lunch break. After lunch, on the way back to Hyundai, I stopped by the Ford dealer (across the street) and test drove a new GT (with Panoramic Roof). Zero Percent financing and $1k below MSRP and I now have a Glacier Gray Metallic in my driveway! Warning: the Mach-E GT is more compelling than crack cocaine. Its handling and ride are superb. The power is phenomenal. I pray that I can keep my driver’s license.
You need to put a low frequency cut on the in-car audio recordings. There is a very annoying rumble that makes listening unpleasant on a full-frequency AV system. For monolog/dialog there isn't any reason to have frequencies below 500 Hz in the feed.
A Kodak employee developed the first handheld digital camera in 1975, according to Wikipedia. In subsequent decades, the company could not face the fact that the digital future was going to be less profitable than the analog past. Failures to embrace the future led directly to bankruptcy. What have the big old car companies learned from Kodak’s failure?
My first digital camera was a 2001 Kodak EasyShare 2.2 megapixel. It was good enough and cheap enough for me at the time. A few years later when I decided to upgrade, I went with Canon. My point was that by 2001 when EasyShare was released, Kodak had already blown their lead. Fuji’s first commercial digital camera was released in 1989.
I regularly see 5 miles per kWh in my Model 3 performance on 18s. As a cleaner greener EV it makes way more sense judging by the poor Mach E figures I have seen. It's a deal breaker.
I know I am not supposed to comment but this has bothered me since I was banned Did both you and Kate both have Morris Minors about the same time. I suspect it was Kate, because we also share another mutual friend who lives around here. But I have wondering if was your Morris and if you were giving it a trip home given I am only a few miles away from the Cowley plant. If what I am asking is inappropriate please delete this post. The green with the gold hi-lited wheel is nice. But I do like it in pale blue.

TE, they could have named it fusion, taurus, ltd, mondeo (😊) etc. We all know they did it for the clicks. It's pretty nice.
Wow, they actually reworked the front to reduce complexity and accidentally forgot to add the heatpump 😢

I think I like the Ioniq 5N better due to the unique styling and the much faster charging, but this is still a pretty solid offering from Ford.

Is the panoramic roof optional on the GT? I really like it on my Premium Mach-E.

The V4 chargers change that problem, as you park alongside the pedestal. I’m still in line for an adapter, but charge at Magicdocks with ease.
This was great, almost makes me want a ford lol.

You can get your car modified with hand controls to replace the pedal.

It’s not pronounced Mark E
Try saying Mac E
It's called an accent.
