Well he did retired as well as a survivor of the three kingdom age where many hero/famous figure appeared compare that to the age after that where chaos are less prominent yeah i am sure he is reminiscing a lot of zhuge liang and Zhou yu/Lu Xun
Another point to mention is that the rebelion really did serve no purpose. Unlike Cao Cao who take in the Emperor to avoid getting attacked as well as to take away the emperor from interfering with the war that happen. This guy rebellion will just make him a traitor and being hunted down by the kingdom.
In these games, over-exerting means instantly K.O. like 300+ guys in 1 sweep with Musou or things like that. Just 40 guys is barely scratching the surface yo.

I love the fact that Sima Yi was more annoyed he didn’t get to eat his lunch, comes out of retirement at the behest of his wife, stops a rebellion and lectures Zhong Hui on how to properly rebel. That is how badass he is.
I mean this is the same guy who had to actually use his brains against one of the most smartest strategists alive during his time and even then he still couldn't outsmart Zhuge Liang.
@@WatcherMovie008 Sima Yi had his eye on a bigger picture than Zhuge Liang. Zhuge Liang may have been a better strategist in battle, but Sima Yi was leagues ahead in terms of statesmanship.

@foxboy6145 in the original story Sima Yi didn't want to serve Cao Cao, so he pretend to be sick until he saw some of the books he put on the sun where about to be hit by a rain, he run to save theses book and a maid witness that showing he is fine and just lying. Sima Yi's wife didn't waste time and killed the maid to protect her husband and family. Since then Sima Yi get really scared of her.
I know he’s a villain and all, but I love Sima Yi’s family dynamic. He loves his wife and takes her council to heart. He believes in his sons to make the right calls when it comes to matters of state, and they just all seem to get along very well. Family game night must be killer.
I mean he wasn't actually that 'evil' to be fair, most warlords at the time were simply looking to get themselves in a seat of power or authority, and you'd need to be quite crafty and scheming to do that, wasn't until the later Shi generations until things started going a bit tits up (again) for China.
Well, to put it simple, no one's hero neither evil, nothing's good neither bad, it's just the point of view. Like in DW 7 when Sima Zhao said he will branded as traitor for killing the Wei Emperor. Well maybe only me, but i think he's the real savior, he saves the Wei from internal chaos
