The new Love Brewing boiler (2023), this changes EVERYTHING!

- Every boiler in the UK like the T500 from Still Spirits is either ON or OFF heat wise. On things like the Grainfather you can set a temperature, but again, the heat is either ON or OFF. When distilling, you really want to run the heat at 100% until it starts to drip, then you lower the heat’s power so that it raises very slowly. You can only do this with making or buying an SCR (Power Controller) and putting this on the plug. Sadly you can’t do this on the Grainfather, Love Brewing boiler or Digiboil as they all have computers in them that need the full 230v.
This new 3rd version of the Love Brewing (Spirit Works) boiler has an SCR built directly inside it. Now you can run it at 100% heat, then turn it down when you are in the sweat spot, and you choose how much power you want to use. It still has temperature control as well, so you get the best of both worlds.

THAT was a bloody good video
Everything I needed to learn.
Must be a carpenter, NAILED IT.
I’m still in the researching before buying stage. The T500 wouldn’t not have been a mistake to buy, but this looks to have a few extra things like the insulation jacket, the attached handles & full control of the power, better tap etc…all (I think) I could add to a T500 but it’s all here out of the box. If I find a 2nd hand T500 and it was dirt cheap I’d probably buy it & upgrade it (depending how old it was) but geez…pretty hard to not just get a new Love Brewing boiler.
Don’t think I’d regret buying a T500 but Love Brewing kinda edges in front for me.
Everyone’s different so I guess (?) there is no one perfect set up but gee you kinda showed the step up here & you were no BS, straight as unbiased & telling it like it is
Hitting subscribe & line was super easy.
Keep up the good work 😎
(I’m in Australia & still trying to find a importer/dealer here)
Thanks for excellent video 😎😎😎
Hi @peterrobins666, I am so glad you found my video useful. I have two T500 boilers, and really like them. But having things like the handles at the top, that is a big thing for me for when I need to empty it. The metal tap is also far better than the plastic tap, but I know the new T500 model has switched over to a metal one as well (I wonder where they copied the idea from?). Also, the new T500 have two power switches for the two internal heating elements (again, wonder where they got that idea from? lol).
Looks like a very nice boiler . Thanks for going over it . 👍
Hi @stuartpowell449,
Thank you for your comment. It is a great boiler, just a shame about the screen visibility. Hopefully they will fix that in the next version.
Thanks for the run down of the new boiler, I've just got mine but didn't know the difference between this one and the old one, as it's my first one, I'm new to it, great review 👍
Hi @peterwilson8184,
Thank you so much for your comment. I hope you are enjoying the boiler.
Thank you so much !
Hi @mustavertwang ,
Thank you so much for your comment.
You are more than welcome, so glad you liked it.
G'day mate, how many quid are they?, I love it already thanks for showing us. Cheers from Aussie 👍.
G'day Bruce (@garrymcgaw4745 ),
The boiler sells for around $421 Australian dollars.
Glad you liked my video, thank you for your comment, it means a lot to know people appreciate what I release.
Great review and I'm keen to get one. On their website they only seem to sell the v2. Where did you get yours?
Hi @Reesy010989, Love Brewing are only selling the new 2023 version. For some reason their web site still shows the photos of the old version though and the instruction as well describe the old one. If you are in doubt, send them a message on their web site and ask if the version they are selling has the power control.
Thanks for the info. I was wondering why they were out of stock at Love Brewing :) - Stupid question: Will the lid still take the T500 column?
Hi @indaba1960 ,
No such thing as a stupid question. Yes, the boiler takes the same lid as the other 25 litre Love Brewing boilers and the T500 boiler from Still Spirits. The lid that is included has the same hole size as the others, so the T500 column fits in nicely.
Do you know when it is released? Still the old one on the website.
Hi @ackers33 ,
I am sorry for my late reply, TH-cam didn't tell me that I had over 30 comments waiting for me!
The new boiler that I reviewed was released I think 3 days before I did my video. I just checked now and their web site still shows the images and text of the old boiler. It doesn't say anywhere about the built in power-control. Not sure why they haven't updated it. Rest assured that they only have the new version in stock, so if you did order one, you would get the exact model that I show in my video.
I believe you can control power on the Grainfather G30 - a quick google returned the following: "The Grainfather Connect Control Box (included with the Grainfather G30) has a 'Power Control Mode' where you can specify the power output rather than specifying the target temperature. To enter (or exit) power control mode; Hold the heat button for 6 seconds"
Hi @philthompson3038, I did a quick search and found the same line in the G30 manual, but it doesn't go into any more detail. While the G30 is a great unit, it is also three times the price as the Lover Brewing boiler (yes, it can do a great deal more as well). It all depends on what you want the boiler to do and how much you can afford.
