- This video is about backing up an RV if you’re new at it. The other day we watched with caution while a new RVer tried to back his 5th wheel up into a space near us. Unfortunately we didn’t start the camera until his 4th attempt. And so we missed him nearly taking out our neighbors 5th wheel and our truck. We also missed him damaging two trees. We’ve been RVing since 1991 and have had tent trailers, travel trailers and a 5th wheel. We also rented numerous Class Cs. He will continue to get better don’t be critical.Remember when you backed for the first time?The first time I brought my 40’ fifth wheel home it took three hours and multiple try’s to get it in the backyard.I have eight inches on each side.
The intent of the video was not to be critical of him, I believe in the full video and one of the shorts if you watched it, my husband gave some advice and talked about how he made the same mistakes when he wasn’t confident enough as well.
Ok thank you for telling the difference between 5th wheel and travel trailer. I always wondered but notice like you said the hinge deal in the truck bed vs the hitch with travel trailer.
