    Awesome stuff mate. I’m glad you posted that. My friends with their TH-cam channel back yard build also brought the manifold you speak of. Paid $900. It’ll go on his 36 ford. I almost brought those crucibles! My friend was selling them. He always gets good tools. You also filmed my two uncles stalls, one with the Indian frame and the other selling all the knifes and bayonets. I brought that dowidat blue board for $25. That’s me in the blue flanno talking to the post box guy. It was a good swap for tools.

      Oh hi Nick, long time my friend. You certainly didn’t have to go far😂. Did you get that Roto toolbox, I thought of you when I saw it. So the $1k on the triples must have been a fair price but I’m glad your friend got a discount👍. Yes I thought $50 for the Dowidat board was a bit much so well done there. I got the crucibles for $80 for the pair which I was happy with. I’ll go back and take another look and find your pic. Cheers bud, Stu.
      PS I’m glad you liked the video, I’ll try and do a better job next year based on the feedback.

      @@Everythings_Adjustable Sorry to hear that Sparky. Same here, April 2020 we were hit head on by a car that suddenly crossed onto our side of the road. My wife and I were smashed up pretty bad with lots of broken bones and other injuries including my feet. Every bone in my right foot was fractured and most in my left. My feet are now a different size and shape, from size 12 to size 13 xxwide. We’re both still recovering and we’re getting there but I’m 60 this year and as you get older, recovery takes longer. We consider ourselves lucky though as the two people in the other car were killed. I’m thinking of doing a video about it once all the legal stuff is settled. Look after yourself my friend. Cheers Stu. 👍👍👍

    Awesome Stewart. The video was perfect. I'm so jealous of your day out. COV really hit swap meets hard here in SA. Nice range of goodies. The little anvil came up great. Some nice vehicles there. We had a blue EH waggon like the one shown without a white top. Great car. The later ones got too big IMHO. My old man was a Holden nut. All good stuff. Cheers Rob

      Hi Rob and thanks for thinking my channel is good enough to subscribe to. I remember quite some time ago I asked you about starting a channel and you were very encouraging so thanks for that. Adelaide has a lot more industrial stuff than Canberra so I think there would be some top swap meets there. There is a swap meet group on FB which really helps with knowing what’s on. This was the first Yass swap meet in two years so I was itching to get there. Cheers mate, Stuart 👍👍👍

      @@scroungasworkshop4663 Hi Stewart, your view counts are really good on most videos, so you are doing something right. That and the like percentage will tell you which way to go. If I can get 10% likes, then the video has been successful. I generally prefer watching smaller channels more than the big ones as there is more likelihood of interaction in comments. Interaction is what will make you grow. People like to feel valued and it's good social contact. I have some viewers who have been with me since day one. With really big channels it's just not physically possible to maintain that degree of response.
      We all start small and grow, so size is not important from my perspective. I always support new channels where the guy is making an effort and the content interests me. Good luck for the future. Cheers Rob

      @@Xynudu Thanks Rob, to be honest I’m surprised at the amount of subscribers I have but I’m sure you know that feeling. I’m not specifically trying to grow, I just want to share what I do with like minded people like yourself. I don’t pay much attention to the analytics, I mostly go on the comments I receive and thankfully they have been very positive. I try hard to respond to every comment because as a consumer I find it disappointing when i leave a comment and get no response. That said I’m completely happy to get just a “xxx likes your comment” as at least you know they read it.
      Cheers Rob and thanks again for your continued help and encouragement. 👍👍👍

    Generally speaking I need to have the time to watch longer videos, but when its all good, I don't mind! 😁👍😁👍. No complaints about the video, but boy the prices there were so HIGH! I felt my wallet tightening up every time I saw a price! 😬😬😬😬. Is there such a shortage of cool old stuff that it gos for so much money, or are the vendors buying and selling to each other which drives up the prices? The vise looks great! A fine job on the little guy! Make sure you make some videos of the casting you do this winter. 👍👍👍

    • @scroungasworkshop4663
      @scroungasworkshop4663  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks mate, everything is expensive here compared to the US. Typically the vendors that go from meet to meet charge a lot so I only buy from them if I really want something. I believe you guys are paying around $5 a gallon for fuel at the moment, over here it about $2.20 a litre or about $8.25 per US gallon. Then again I believe our wages are higher with the minimum wage here being $20.50 per hour. Swings and roundabouts I guess.
      Cheers mate, Stuart.

    • @timeflysintheshop
      @timeflysintheshop 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@scroungasworkshop4663 I wonder if the Australian dollar is worth less the the US dollar. That would make your prices seem higher and your high minimum wage seem lower. Our gas just went up to 4.85 yesterday. The sucky thing is that there is no shortage of oil here in the US. Production is up, the federal government is releasing 1,000,000 barrels of oil a day from the strategic reserve, but it does not make any difference to the price. The "uncertainty" in the market due to the war in Ukraine is all the excuse the "market" needs to raise the price and the oil companies are making record profits at the expense of all the hardworking people. The rich people who own stocks in the oil companies are banking huge dividends and they don't give a crap about the price because they have money to burn and they sure as hell don't have to drive to work everyday! This is wartime profiteering if there ever was such a thing. The government should tax the crap out of excessive profits and use the money to help Ukraine and end the war sooner so the market can stabilize.

    10:36. Thats what happens when you have something done up real tight and then you bash on the job with a big hammer.Like driving out a kingpin or similar. You can tell by the handle it was thrashed. Poor little feller. And the gas used to fix it would cost a bomb today unless done as a foreigner at your workplace.
