I am a 16 years old girl. Few days age noticed something near my nipple. It was itchy and the dry skin was coming out . I thought it was normal cause I was having allergy so i i didn't think that much but it's becoming big . After some research from Google i found out that i might have Paget's . I am so scared . I don't know what to do 😭
Hi honey..plz don't be scared! Have u showed your mom or someone in your family? And who can take u to see your Dr? Plz don't be worried..this is very uncommon, and extremely uncommon in young ppl! It's more often seen in ppl over 40..but it's important to see your Dr every year anyway!!
I don't think it's a bad thing that its assumed to be eczema in the first instance and treated topically with steroid cream as to rule it out. After two weeks of application if it hasnt changed then do further testing for Pagets. Using the cream to rule it out doesnt take much time or money so it is effective and efficient.
I glad I found you on the Web. I just have gotten home from my obgyn and she she's concerned I have Paget. I just brushed it off and came home and sister a Web search. that biopsy she mentioned carries a little more weight now.i was wondering, if if have cancer in your throat or lungs could it present its self on your breast. oh the thoughts going threw my mind....
@@azelandzach902 Today I'm thanking God it wasn't pagents . (Thank you for asking) I really don't know wht it was, It looked like a skin irritation with an abrasion., Hanna, are you facing this? Or being kind inquiring about me? If you are facing it. Carefully look at the pictures on the web, mine looked nothing like that yet my doctor wanted to biopsy it. And it it looks anything kind any pictures on the web, please do it.. thanks for texting me.
@@azelandzach902 yes goggle shows in depth pictures of what pagents looks like. And most of the time it starts and the brown area of the breast. I may be wrong but don't think so from my research, its something that's seen from the out side, red irritated and become swollen and encompassing the whole breast as time goes on. I was fortunate, mine was a rash, but it may of not if been! So I did take a few weeks before I set up the appointment for the biopsy and it went away. If you are asking these questions fir yourself or some one you care about, don't waste more than a few weeks, this is an aggressive cancer and it means business. So if the rash doesn't disappear fast be just as aggressive as it is. Prayers are with you in all ways
Is it possible to have reoccurrence in the form of pagets disease of the nipple (originally invasive ductal carcinoma) if I have had a nipple sparring mastectomy?
To update: YES I in fact have Pagets (diagnosed last week) after having a nipple sparring mastectomy in 2013 from invasive ductal carcinoma. In 2013 I had chemo, double mastectomies, rads, Herceptin and DIEP FLAP. I'm baffled. Definitely go to the Dr if things seem off! I watched these videos and it got me thinking....led to me going in.... THANKS for these videos!
I've noticed changes in my right nipple since years ago. I've had itching on the areola and outer area of it on and off. The nipple has more recently been itching and today for the first time, I noticed some dry skin directly over it. It was very itchy- like, burning itchy. The nipple doesn't come out as quickly on the right side as the left side. It used to function the same as my left breast. It also looks thicker around the nipple when erect. I always just assumed it just grew a little since my right boob's always been a little bigger, but now I'm really scared. I have almost all the expected symptoms of Paget's- flattening of the nipple, itching of areola and nipple, dryness etc. I've always been self conscious about the appearance of the right breast since my symptoms started, but now that I know it could be serious, I'm not so scared to have someone check it out. I've been using nipple balm today and it's not doing anything to stop the itching. I want to cry, it's so itchy... 😓
@@LIFE-bx7zb Yeah. I was told it was a mild form of eczema. Itching and dryness gone. Skin doesn't feel weird and dry anymore. But there seems to be some scar tissue around the nipple area. Doesn't look the same since I developed the symptoms... probably because I left it too long without treatment. :(
Thank you Doctor for keeping this explanation simple and so understandable.God bless you.
This is me, thank you so much for this.
I'm really scared that I have this, but I'm pretty young and too scared to tell my parents or my doctor. I don't know what to do. Ahhhh

I had a breast reduction and scared i have this now. Its a sore that wont heal and is peeling
Does it cause a whitehead and subsequent pus drainage?
My wife has chronic eczema all over her body including breast and nipples, (both) has just found a lump in 1 breast, can it still be harmless eczema?
And what are the chances that it could be a build up of dry skin that could be gently exfoliated in the shower?

@Lana Joy Hi! I'm doing well! No further reoccurrence since 2018 thankfully. Thank you for asking! Staying hopeful that it is gone for good! :)
