I did the same, but now I found it easier to have a project. You always know how many titles you need to prepare, etc. And also proportions, with the project I can estimate the approximate and doing from a head for me it is a little lottery. And yet we all work as we see fit:)
Where do you get your wood? Do you have a mill near you? I saw a video where they used a Festool Sword Saw to cut beams on a cabin build. I was very impressed by that.
@@infeelfurniture I liked the videos where they used large chain saws to rough cut the lumber. Then they turned those into boards for their cabin builds. There were so many builds I wished that I could help with.
If I could make a suggestion, I'd recommend getting a few new things for your shop. I see you have some Festool tools so I know you've got the drive. But I'd recommend upgrading your table saw and make an outfeed table for it. Also, I'd get a helical cutter head for the jointer if possible 👍 Stay safe!
Крутая работа. Есть несколько вопросов 1) почему доску покупаешь необрезанную? Почем у вас ясень в Украине? 2) почему такие зазоры между фасадами? Таков дизайн/желание клиента? Понимаю, что вкусы разные, но эстетичней наверное бы смотрелись 2-3мм зазора. И если не нужны ручки, то поставить фурнитуру с открытием от нажатия. А так исполнение очень крутое.
Привіт! Про дошку, ясен у Львівській області 500-600$ можна знайти дешевше, але зазвичай так. Брав необрізну дошку тому що обрізної просто в наявності небуло ось взяв і тепер краї пиляю:) А шпара між фасадами це така задумка тут вже що кому подобається.
beautiful work.. but man, cutting wood with bark still attached on the table saw without safety glasses? good way to lose an eye and never be able to build or do much ever again. Come on!
@@infeelfurniture hahah! This was many years ago. Sold the blog over 12 years ago and I only keep the video up for posterity :-) You videos are very decent. Only suggestion I would say is to improve the light. You can either flood the workshop with a lot of light and have everything super bright or instead have more of an ambient light where you mix and match different types of light with a main light on the subject of interest and the others in the background. I am hoping to resume making videos of my builds later this year but right now am I working on a site to help woodworkers buy left over woods from others.

I buy wood from a local supplier. They cut logs and also dry the boards in a chamber dryer.

Very nice! What is the finish you used? Looks like shellac but without the yellow hue shellac usually leaves behind on Ash.

It is a hard wax oil from America wood oil. Not bad, easy to use but not too strong after drying...
