Dan, you really are a legend man. It amazes me how you handle your yak and everything going on. You make it looks easy but it’s far from that especially in these kind of conditions. Great video. Hope you enjoy your catch!!
Thanks Steffen! I was going for a certain kind of photo, but didn't get turned into the light quite enough. I would like to put up a lot of fishing photos, but I don't think my wife would like that.
Dan another awesome video. When you picked the location of your Garmin and transducer, what were the main reasons behind those particular spots? If you could change (if you feel it could be better) the location of both the fish finder and transducer, where would it be?
Never been on one, but everyone says not as stable as a outback of course. They have decent stability. But their weight and slimmer hull makes them cut through the water easier. People seem to like them for fishing miles offshore. Personally I'd call them a semi pro or enthusiast level kayak.
Awesome video! I'm always amazed at the small size hooks you use for those big fish. I'm curious, have you tried the 4x treble hooks for the stinger? For me, its been a game changer for the kingfish/Wahoos. But I am not sure if the bite ratio stays as good. Cheers!
Awesome catches! May I ask you, how you like the penn 8500 live line reel? I see you were using it on your previous trip but switch back to the non live line reel on this trip, any reason? Debating if I should get 8500 regular verses live line reel. Mahalo!
Thanks man. Where are you fishing? I have done some shallower water fishing in the gulf of mexico and in texas recentlyl. In those places its only 40-60ft deep, but we found action around reefs, and artificial structure.
@@FlyingFish_TV i in southern of Thailand normally i go to casting at port or coast but like i said there is shallow i got just snapper little grouper or mackerel but some if i have luck enough i got barracuda size around 7-12lbs.
They are the most frustrating fish to catch from a kayak in my experience. I caught all but one of my ono on the windward side of the island. There has to be a lot of them where you're fishing. Do you do many road trips with your kayak? Seems like you mostly fish in Hilo bay.
@@FlyingFish_TV Thanks for the reply! Thats interesting I wonder why they're so stacked on that side over there. I'm sure get out windward side here cuz the boat guys catch often. I only roadtrip when its too rough this side, but its almost always worth the drive.
Thanks Martin. I have a 50ft fluoro leader to 40lb coffee colored single strand wire stinger rig. I use a tiny 50lb spro swivel, a 3/0 live bait hook for the main hook, and smaller treble or another live bait hook for the stinger. The stinger is about 3" behind the main hook. The swivel is about 6" to 1ft above the main hook.
Another master piece theater with underwater shots and screaming drags, incredible, calling my boy to watch right now.aloha
Wow, thanks Peter!
I always learn something at this channel. Well done, again, Dan.

Yet another great video Dan! I miss that place very much! Looking forward to see what you are up to now! No thanks to getting in the water!
Love it Dan! You are one fishy guy!
Thanks Bill, fishing is awesome! Pretty incredible to hook into three wahoo in just a few hours
Wonderful content as usual, that pic of you holding that wahoo that we see when we click on the video will make one hell of a poster.

Nice one. Still trying to catch one lol

Awesome videos always, what fish bag cooler are you using? Can you share a link?
love your videos. inspiring for new yak anglers ! btw garmin or lowrance ? im about to get a fish finder but dunno what to chose at 7inches
Love to see your video bro im stay nearly sea but it so shallow far from cost 2-3 miles the deep is just 25-30m. it hard to find a big fish like you

Mean screamer! Wanna hook one of these so bad and you make it look easy.

F I'm gonna watch it again
Is the live-liner feature on your reels necessary or is it just a preference?
Great video
What do you use as a leader? Wire?

How do you manage all that equipment and keep peddling?
It gets easier with practice, but i'm not using everything at the same time. Running two live baits is pretty difficult though
Inspirational. Hope I can slay like you. Cheeee
Thanks bro. These are just the highlights, everyone gets skunked sometimes. 1/3 on ono is still a good day lol
Are you airline pilot
