My late father was working in a government house in the highest level, was discipline in truth and they made him not to enjoy the royalties of his level in the government house and that made him poor but rich in heaven. He died a faithful man. God bless you Dad as you find rest in the beautiful bossom of the Almighty God's hand

One thing I've come to discover about God and his kingdom is just a revelational knowledge, you can be a genuine child of God and still be poor because U dnt dnt know what to do to get wealth, and before U can know what to do it must be revealed by God, so poverty in a believers life is as a result of ignorance not sin

That is still not correct my brother neither is it the truth.
God tests with riches. God also tests with poverty.
Job was tested with poverty and he passed the test. He did not curse God. His wife failed the test of poverty and suffering.
The Christian rich man who has been faithful in riches still needs to pass the test of poverty. He can possibly fail the test of poverty. Ofcourse, it is the Holy Spirit who determines the tests we get and if we will get them. He can test you with riches but not test you with poverty per say.
But a serious beliver who will go far with God in doing His will, must pass both tests.
It is part of the training curriculum in the school of the Holy Ghost.
See Proverbs 30 vs 7 - 9. It suggests that there are risks associated with both Poverty and Riches.

He didn't say all rich people are holy; yes, but he did say poverty is a sign of sin in a man's life. You don't need to defend what shouldn't be defended. This is the reason you don't give a chance for a man of God to make amends for wrongs, because you keep making them feel like they can never be wrong! No one is infallible. No one! Acknowledging that his assertion on this one matter is wrong doesn't make him less of a man of God (and that's where I don't agree with Reverend Kesiena) unless of course, if the pastor himself doubled down on his assertion in affirming that poor people are poor because they are not righteous!

  • @JosesAdewara

Pastor Korede's point, on this, is skewed, on many levels.
Sin is classless. Lying is common to both wealthy and poor. Stealing also is. Fornication, deceit, hatred, etc, are sins anyone can fall into. Sin has no regard for pocket level. Whether what you steal is 500 naira or 5billion naira, it is stealing. So, sin is sin.
Describing sin as though it is only at level of wealth you must be fortified to overcome it, is wrong. The rich and poor face temptations daily.
Your resistance to temptation as a rich man doesn't make you holier than the poor man who also resists temptations daily.

Listen to the message to get what he was saying and not the message this account is trying to pass. Just think of what he said, if you want to test the integrity of a poor man, expose him to wealth and if he doesn’t fall, it means that he truly has integrity. The reason why you don’t do some things right now is because you don’t have the resources. So, if you have the resources and then you still choose to follow God when you can easily grow wings, then it means you truly love God

I am sorry, I know many Abel Damina followers might find this offensive but, pls be sincere to yourself. Just look at how this man of God speak to the issue and correct the narrative without abusive words or calling of names. That's true nature of God. Speak to the issue, not attacking individuals because, he Pst. Abel Damina admitted he was once like that before he made a U-turn. Others can also change their view tmrw. That's why you dnt attack people or try to disgrace them in the name of correction. Speak to the issues and make your corrections. That's spiritual maturity. I come in peace

All poverty is obviously NOT DUE to sin. Instead of arguing, I see it as a direct word from God to me. When a man hears his rhema word, it grips his spirit. It may sound harsh and insensitive but it is his word for that moment.
There are specific individuals whose poverty is specifically due to disobedience to a clear instruction God gave them. Some specific people may have opened the door to the spirit of poverty due to some sins in their lives.
The word is for them, not for those whose poverty or lack is due to their righteousness or integrity in the work place or who are in the wilderness season of their lives.
    It is written:
Proverbs 6.9-11. How long will you sleep, O sluggard? when will you arise out of your sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall your poverty come as one that travels, and your want as an armed man. (Sin of laziness)
Pro 11:24 There is that scatters, and yet increases; and there is that withholds more than is meet, but it tends to poverty.(Sin of stinginess)
Pro 13:18 Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuses instruction: but he that regards reproof shall be honored.(Sin of disobedience to specific divine instructions. If God clearly told you to start a business, sell water or write books and you are roaming around looking for employment then poverty has the right to attack you)
Pro 20:13 Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes, and you shall be satisfied with bread.(Sin of laziness and slothfulness)
Pro 23:21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.(Sin of drunkenness, gluttony, slothfulness)

I say this to you, you will not know how deep your love for God is till you have money or money is involved.
How did Jesus die? A disciple betrayed him for MONEY 😂.
If David wasn't King, he wouldn't (maybe) have slept with Bathsheba even if he saw her nakedness. Power, Influence, Money revealed his heart.
So when a Preacher who has handled Wealth says to you Money is a litmus test. You better believe him.
And oh, I hope you know The Blind sees and the lame walks in his meetings too.

Paul warned Timothy: "Supposing that gain is godliness...from such turn away". Gain is not Godliness. Material gain or progress, material wealth or prosperity is not at all a parameter for assessing or measuring godliness, spirituality or closeness to God. Not even knowledge of God.
There are season's of fruitfulness. Until it comes, there will be lack and some dryness.
Jesus taught His disciples, "a man's life does not consist in the abundance of the things which he has but in how ricknhe is towards God.
This means that a Christian's ranking or richness towards God does NOT include material things at all.

If you love poverty as a Christian you are wicked. How can you help the dying, orphans, students who cannot go to school, the helpless, those who can’t pay bills, those who can’t feed with your honorable and godly poverty. How can the gospel spread to the nooks and crannies of the world with your poverty? Those who enjoy poverty are those who are not willing to help the hurting and dying world. Please hate poverty with every fiber of your being so God can truly prosper you to bless others who are in need. No drowning man can save another drowning man. To magnify poverty is a spiritual and monumental disgrace-2Corinthians 8:9.

God is not glorified in the poverty of his children as no wealthy king is glorified in the poverty of his children. God takes delight in the prosperity of His servants, much more is sons-psalm 35:27. Jesus was made poor so His own children might become rich; this is not just wealth in spirit but material wealth.- 2Corinthians 8:9. It is ungodly for you to be born by the owner of the heavens and the earth and all the wealth of them and still move about with poverty in the name of being a holy Christian. There is no pride in being poor. The truth is, be very wealthy so you can help the poor and others and fear God- Psalm 112:1-3. Wealth and riches should be in the house of the man that fears God. I want to go to heaven like Abraham and not Lazarus. I am the seed of Abraham not the seed of Lazarus. Pro 30:7-9 ISV 7 God, I have asked you for two things- don’t refuse me before I die- 8 Keep deception and lies far away from me, and give me neither poverty nor wealth. Feed me with food that I need for today, 9 so that I don’t become overfed and deny you by saying, “Who is the LORD?” or so that I don’t become poor and steal, and then misuse the name of my God.

Then Jesus came to restore the pattern (salvation is not just about going to heaven only, we would have all gone to heaven the day we become born again) so if Adam and Eve were living in abundance, I should also live in abundance because Jesus has saved me from the curse. And if my life is not looking like it, then something is wrong that needs to be fixed.

It is blessings of Abraham that should come to me and not the suffering of Lazarus-Galatian 3:13-14
