    the ambient air temp does not need to be 130. it's the surface temp that needs to be 130. the air temp should not exceed 115 ever, because that means the basking spot surface is exceeding 155 and that is extremely dangerous

    you're not supposed to feed them small portions multiple times. You're supposed to feed them a large amount all at once, then don't feed them again for 2 days.

      @@GoldFish-dl4tt yes we get that....but twice a week decent meals not to much is better for them...i think he is doing good tbh alot better than I was 10 years ago I'll tell you that.....no one is perfect nor will they 100% get it right it is very hard to completely replicate a specific environment.....

    My basking spot is about 125 - 130 with the air temp or 100 - 105 my humidity is around 40 to 50 percent (ik should be about 60) my Savannah monitor just recently is allowing me to touch him in his enclosure but he needs to smell me first I have to pet him a little then I'm able to take him out my Savannah (name yoshi) is little bigger than your but very shy he rarely bites he use to be very skidish and defensive now I can handle him for a while and he doesn't want to let me hand go so I let him pick when it is time to return home....i feed my yoshi twice a week and he is very happy not comfortable with my lids but my wife and me he loves he just tries to run but it is a work in progress I've only had him for about a month or so

    Hey would a 40 gal breeder tank be good for one ??? (Baby Savannah)

    • @skyelindholm8115
      @skyelindholm8115 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      For a baby it would be fine. But when it gets older it will need something bigger like 60-100 gallon tanks.

      no. minimum is 8ft x 4ft x 4ft. get the adult enclosure first. this reduces stress and saves you money in long room. you can get by with a 6ft x 2ftx 3ft.

      Texas guy I mean technically you can. In the wild they don't have cages lol and they raise up fine. The only problem with having a cage that big with such a small animal is you may lose him every once in a while lol

      @bryaned4149 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      depends on your monitor they all have different tastes in a sense, mine will eat all bugs live or freeze dried. he'll also eat hardboiled egg beef cubes chicken breast..

    • @bryaned4149
      @bryaned4149 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      personally i make a monitor mush type thing i mix up hardboiled egg ground beef really low in fat crickets and meal worms

      @whitneybuxton6162 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reptiles shouldn’t have mealworms period. They’re hardly good for birds because their chitin is so dense. Dubai roaches over any other feeder

    • @TylerSpite
