Just wanted to say thank you for your channel and all your cup evangelism. I admire and appreciate what you do! I started using a cup in part due to your work, and I have never, ever looked back. Thanks again!
Just wanted you all to know I had great success with a new menstrual cup this cycle. I bought the Lena cup size 1 after taking your quiz. Worked much better for me and restored my faith in making these cups work for me. Thanks!
I just don’t understand how far in the cup needs to go! I feel like I have to freakin first myself for it to get up there. I leak every time, I’m so over it
sometimes the leaking is just residual from bleeding prior to cup insertion; also bear down so your muscles do most of the work so you dont have to go digging for treasure...i am a newbie too but i am starting to get the hang of my body's nuances like after i wake up---its way up there so i spend more time bearing down prior to getting on the toilet, i'll brush my teeth and do a couple of other things before I go in to empty/clean it, it does take time; perhaps you can look at different capacity cups as well. I really liked the PACII comparison chart on their website-super helpful
I've been struggling with my cup since june I'm so sick of this it keeps leaking. ONCE in a while it does work, tho it's never on the first day and it's just rare occasions.
if you take ur cup out and it’s almost full, it means that its leaking because its fulll . If the cup is barely full and you r leaking, it’s probably the cup not fitting right. For me, most of the time is because it didn’t open properly. If it goes in really deep, it’s probably even harder to tell if it open properly as our fingers dont go that far sometimes. But if i feel around the whole mentrual cup and i feel a flat surface when the other surface feel round, ill just twist the cup, move it left or right, stick my finger in and push against my vaginal wall until i hear the suction or just do a full feel around the entire bottom of the cup again to see if the flat surface is still there. If its not there anymore then yay.
What I feel like is one should not cut the stem if they are able to manage with it... because while pulling the cup out ,you will easily grasp it through it's stem. Otherwise it might get slippery while you are trying to hold the cup to bring it out
I am so excited to get started and that never is a thing haha punny any who thank you for being here my daughter is now a fan thanks to good ole mom here and she totally going to try as well I am excited for a new journey, I have to use pads because of toxic shock and I loved tampons less mess but then I got a sick and fever set in and my cramps went from slicing my stomach to ripping it in shreds...went to ER found out and have been in the pad lane for years now I am 37 so this is big and I hope it’s my thing because I HATE PADS
My problem is that it feels like it sits to low so I can feel it constantly. I'm really glad that I found the menstrual cup, but I just haven't quit mastered it yet. The good thing about it sitting low is that I haven't experience any leaks 🙈😅 it just feels like it can't get further up 🙈
Maybe the cup is too long for you? Have you tried measuring your cervix? If you have a low cervix then maybe cups like the Meluna designed for women with low cervix will fit better!
Absolutely and I think that really helped me when I first started. You may want to use a bit of silicone safe lubricant because you may or may not be more dry than you would be on your period. Friction would be no fun. -A
Put A Cup In It Thank you. I wasn't sure if the fact that the cervix changes position during your cycle would affect anything. I did not know this, by the way...I learned something new.
It does change position - so that's certainly something you can keep in mind with regard to position of the cup when inserted - but it can still be helpful when getting use to insertion and removal IMO. I liked being able to try it out without the added pressure of possible mess.
I can’t get my cup in and it’s been a few days of trying. I don’t know what to do and every time I try I end up crying after because I always want to try but I can’t.
Maybe try another fold, I started with the C fold but had a hard time. Then I did the fold where you push on one side so it kinda goes i to the cup. Then I sat down on the toilet pull my pants down to my ankels so I could spread my leg wide while sitting. I find it easier to insert it with my left han even though I'm right handed. Well start with right hand and then use left where you grab it with the point and middlefinger so the can move it further up ish. I hope this helps ❤️
_A PRO TIP_if u r not able to insert the cup then u should change the fold i highly highly recommend to try *labia fold* as all of the brim is placed outside the cup and not inside.. and overall cup size becomes small in size (as a tampon) so its very easy to insert and pop open easily.... and lube helps in insertion soo much.... hope it helps...😊👀💕
I can feel my cup and the stem is level with my vaginal opening. I’m worried I got the wrong size, or maybe the reason I can feel it is because I haven’t done enough trial and error? It’s my first time too so I’m nervous about it
Tamarrin Cole Yes. And if the stem still pokes out yoy can trim it a little but be careful so you don't cut it. You shouldn't feel anything once it's in position
I’ve been using a diva cup for about 4 months now but every time it leaks so after watching your video about the length of the cervix I believe the diva cup it’s too long for me or IDK so I been thinking about following your tip #3 and cut the end of it and maybe flip it as you mention in your Tip #4 but I’m just so scared to ruin my cup 😭😭

Miriam Panek hi, a possible reason could be that your pelvic muscles are too strong for a regular cup. Maybe you should try a firmer cup, Meluna and Femmecycle do something like that. You can also check this channel Precious stars pads, this girl is a dancer too.she compered lots of cups. I hope this may help you
I just found out that I was leaking because I was pushing my cup past my LOW cervix so the cup fitted. Can I trim the stem if it has a hoop on it? P.s. I have the selena cup
Hi i tried one of the tips that you mentioned in your videos to turn the cup inside out and try. It worked for me but here is the issue that I am facing. The cup can go in a lot more than it used to before I turned it but I feel a lot of rectal pressure.. Can you give me any suggestions for this? I am using a medium firm consistency.
I have that problem every once in awhile...and am a new user. I found that actually inserting your fingers and turning it clockwise helps. It can be hard at first and you may need to reinsert. Not sure if that helps, but hope it might.
I’m just a new wearer + literally started last week. I just read a comment somewhere + she said to slightly put it out when you have it in, + it literally opens up then all you have to do is push it up!
I was there as well. Lubricant and flex when you 'pooping' do really help to make it through. Don't forget that the way is going towards your spine. Don't give up yet because once you've succeded the insertion, the second would be so much easier. Hang in there.
Had a very unpleasant, very messy experience taking out the Saalt cup today. I think it’s just too stiff for me. I always have a hard time getting it to open in the first place and then breaking the seal when I take it out is a nightmare. I think I’m going to have to go back to the Diva cup.
Hi i hate that I'm leaking... I'm sure the cup opened but here's the thing. When i pulled on the stem, it seemed to just slide down. Why could I be leaking? Tnx in advance :)
Is it possible to insert the cup to the side instead of straight? I put my cup in but it seems to be alot more to the right, I tried fixing it but nothings working and I don't know what to do, someone who knows what to do. Please help me
I want to purchase a cup but im very vety scared that once i placed the cup i am not able to take it out. I know out if experience that even the doctors have a hard time reaching my cervix and the tools they mostly use during an examination are most of the time to short. What can i do to make sure that i can still reach it afterwards.
We have a chart that lists cups and you can sort by length- sounds like you want the longest one available which would be the Lily cup (putacupinit.com/chart) and then leave the stem on. The cup can't go past your cervix so the important thing is if you can't reach it not to panic since it's not going anywhere. Tensing up makes it worse. Use your muscles to bear the cup lower until you can reach it.
We are not doctors but in the cases where we have heard this I've advised people it could be pressing on a nerve. Again- not medical advice but something to consider.
I have the meluna cup and am an first time user. It's easy to insert and I dont feel it at all once inserted. I've felt around the edge to make sure its smooth and rotated it once inserted but I'm still getting a very small leak on one side. Any ideas as to why this is?
Emily E. If it is a very small leak it could be residual blood left in your vagina from before the cup was inserted making its way out. I put mine in right when I get in the shower so by the time I’m done the blood has made its way out, it worked to stop the little leaks for me
I was wondering if I could ask you your opinion regarding the use of menstrual cups in sub Saharan Africa- specifically Uganda. One of the disturbing things that I discovered whilst volunteering in Uganda was that girls are having to provide transactional sex in order to get sanitary napkins so that they can still go to school during their menses. I do realize there are many other factors - but this one I think needs attention and certainly there has to be a sustainable, affordable and acceptable option. I am trying to look at alternatives including washable napkins vs menstrual cups. Your thoughts would be very much appreciated, specifically with regards to the ability to use these cups in a setting where they are limited with water supplies especially at school where they have to use latrines. I believe many of the girls are sexually active at an early age, but I was wondering about the feasibility of using the cups in virginal girls. From what I have read, there shouldn’t be any issues- but I’d like your first hand opinion. Also, any ideas about where to purchase them at reasonable prices and which brands are preferable. We will need to purchase about 1000 cups initially once we have been able to do some background research. Thanks again for your help
Gosh I tried the cup for the first time and it got stuck inside half open it hurt me so bad.i don't know how is it so comfortable for others.i really want it to work for me but now I'm scared
I'm having trouble with my Organicup...I can insert it fine (using many different folds), I can feel it pop open but when I run my finger around, the cup is always sitting flat on one side. Is this right? No amount of squeezing the base, rotating, pulling it down and back up again seems to stop it being flat on one side. I am quite tight down there despite being 38 😂 Does having tight pelvic floor muscles create this problem?
Possibly, or it's against your cervix somehow. Organicup customer service should be around to troubleshoot with you. It's a fairly soft cup so it would have a hard time opening if your canal is narrow and muscles strong. It may be that you need a narrower and/or firmer cup.
Being a virgin or not doesn't affect anything down there. Consider your cervix height, typical flow, and how strong you think your pelvic muscles might be. The PACII site has a quick quiz you can use to get an idea of some cups that might work for you or you can use their chart to find one to try
I tired a diva cup for the first time last month and when I first stood up I couldn't feel it but I sat on the couch for about 30 mins and when I stood up it felt like it was falling out... did it not seal correctly? Or maybe I need the wider size?
Was it actually moving down or did it just feel like it? The Diva Cup is really long and you have more sensation near the opening of the vagina - so if the cup was rubbing that area it definitely can feel like it's coming out. I would guess, without knowing more, that the Diva Cup is probably too long for you. Do you have any issues reaching the cup when removing? or is it sitting right down at the opening?
The best I can best I can explain is that it felt like it was sitting low when I would stand but when I squatted or sat I couldn't feel it. I had to bear down to get it out because it was kinda high up but it wasn't very hard to get out. But I'm going to try again next period
Karianna Kaay did you figure it out? I’m a new user and I’m having this issue. It far enough when inserted but once I start walking it seems like it slides down and then I have to push it back up.
Right now my biggest issue is pulling the flipped cup out, I cannot really pinch it and pull and sometimes I accidentally end up pushing the tip in , which makes it even harder... what can i do?
Natalia Righetti you should bear down or do the poop flex so your body can push the cup down your cervix, this will allow you to grab the base of the cup and pull it out
I find that when I can't reach my cup the position that works for me is sitting on the toilet and lifting both legs up on the wall in front of me. This shortens my vaginal canal enough that when I bear down I can easily reach the base of my cup. Maybe this will work for you too?
ive gotten my cup slightly in and felt the pop and freaked out and was too scared to let the bottom go tried to take it out but the suction had already been made , i broke the seal and pulled it out . I have no idea what to do, once i feel it pop open should i just let it go and let it move on up ? or should i just push it up ?
The insertion wasn't much of a problem for me but getting out was. It went in too high and I couldn't get a good enough grasp on it to get it out. After trying for a very long time I ended up going to a doctor to get it out. I want to use a cup so badly but I'm so worried about this happening again. I used a diva cup. I was thinking about getting the Lilly cup cause I hear it's longer but still worried.
I'm considering converting to using menstrual cups since I've noticed I've been spending too much on pads and tampons, I searched it up but there's this short cup version, long cup version, wider cup version I'm confused and anxious on what to choose¿ I don't exactly know what I am and I'm scared if I back out now I'll never get the chance to change lol, so any tips or advice on how to know what cup fits you best?
Hi, im a new cup user. Im currently using alx size 2. I trimmed the stem but cud still feel the cup inside me all the time. After watching this video I tried the flipping inside out method. Cant feel it any more! Thank u. Guess it worked coz i needed a slightly smaller cup it seems.
I bought a lot of cups :( my final one was Ruby cup Small. Fits comfortably right now. is cramping normal? maybe I'm getting used to it. I want to know if this is truly the right size for me. any suggestions?
You don't have to cut the stem and it's best to wait until you try with it to see how it goes. If you need to for comfort reasons but the cup is higher than you can reach at times you can bear down with your muscles to push the cup low enough to reach (like having a bowel movement) putacupinit.com/removal
Leaked so bad last night! I put it in and it feels comfortable but I don’t here a pop or suction. I do check to see if my cervix is on the inside though. I am wondering if checking is losing the suction! Help :)
You won't always be able to hear or feel when the cup is open- what cup are you using? Firmer cups open and seal better than softer cups so if you have a softer cup you may want to look at our folds video for one that works better for softer cups such as the labia fold, punch down, or origami.
I’ve been using the cup and I find that it works most of the time, sadly whenever it gets towards the end of the day I find that I start spotting and I’m not sure what that means???
None at all. Placement varies from person to person based on your anatomy and what’s comfortable for you. As long as it works for you there is no wrong way 💛
Are you getting tense and anxious? The first few times I used the cup it definitely was difficult to insert it. It helped me to stop, relax, and try again. You can also use some water based lubricants to help you insert your cup easier!
@@sugarushhhh Thank you! I did try all of these things but I truly just don't think the size of the smallest cup size is small enough for me. Thank you so much though!
Hey please help me, i tried many folds, in many ways with many tricks. But my cup is not opening up.Does larger diameter of a cup affects ? because i feel my vaginal muscles are extra tight that it prevents my cup to open up in any condition.I don't want to go back to pads again.please help me out🙏😭
Probably I m facing the same. This is because of the air pocket in the empty cup when it is just inserted. The blood replaces the air which comes out from vagina along with a little amount of blood. It becomes worse if I keep my cup inside for more than 7 hrs
I feel like I'm putting it in too far because I'm having a dull ache constantly! I have a low cervix and I try my best to keep it low but my PC muscles pull it right back up to where the rim is hitting my cervix.
Chatterbox world I’m no expert, but I remember reading reading in I think the DivaCup faq that it does and you just have to adjust the way you put it in.
It should go in to where you are comfortable... and that often depends on the location of your cervix. It can only go as high as the cervix will allow but if you have a high cervix you can wear it lower than it CAN go as long as all of the cup, stem included is inside. If the cup is too long you will want to trim the stem down.
I put my cup all the way up and it goes down by it’s own.. does someone knows whyy?? Help .. its the second time trying it... also it tilts to the right side.. helpppp
Thanks for the reviews! I find that cups do leak on heavy days but its normal to have to empty cups more on heavy days. And if you have a strong pelvic floor maybe firmer cups will help you.
Don't give up yet, it can take many trials and errors. Try different folds and placing your body in different positions. We like the punchdown fold or labia fold since you have a nub you can push on to help it open.
I have been using an intimina lily cup one for the past few cycles and I can't get it to stop leaking! Initially I thought I had a very high cervix because I couldn't reach it but then I realised I had been going past it every time and that it's actually very low... I think that my cup has been going past my cervix and this is why it's leaking?? Does this also mean I have a tilted cervix? Someone help!
So I wasted 43$ on a cup I cant use bc my vagina is to strong... wtf lol I'm a dancer and also dont want weird ass chemicals in my lady parts so I was hoping a cup would be perfect.. the discs were more comfortable but they didnt last long jo where near the 12 hour mark.. I probably have to buy damn organic tampons from now on i guess bc I cant do this no matter what I try
I would suggest trying another cup if you can afford to do so, but doing some investigation before buying it. You can take their quiz, measure your cervix and compare different cups in diameter, density... With the first cup I bought I had no idea about anything and it didn't quite work out 100% but I watched a ton of their videos and took the quiz before purchasing a new one, and the one I got is pretty perfect for me! Sorry for such a long ass answer, but if you want to use a cup, don't give up yet😊😉
that inside out tip really made a big difference for me, no more being uncomfortable
Me too!!
It did for me too, but I found that when i had to adjust the cup after going to the bathroom or doing a number 2, it's a bit more challenging!

Bear down!! This makes inserting it much easier and gives your body the chance to adjust the cup to wherever its comfortable.
The squatting tip saved my LIFE lmao thank you for this!!!
I c-fold my Lena cup, insert it, then use my pelvic muscles to pull it into the right spot. Works for me every time.

the most important thing to stop leaks is twisting it when you insert it to seal it
you have to twist it around to make sure you sealed it. the same thing was happening to me.

I run my finger around the entire rim of the cup after it's inserted to make sure it's open and that my cervix hasn't slipped below the cup opening
How?! I’ve seen this tip so much but I can barely get my finger between the cup and my vaginal wall let along get it all the way round! Any tips?
Wow, the squatting tip works REALLY well. I just tried it, and it goes up further so I can't feel it on the vaginal opening. Thanks!
for those with a saalt cup..don't flip it inside out that was a rookie mistake on my part

Try some cloth pads as backup if needed or if the cup doesn't work for you. So much more comfortable than disposables!

I find that none of those tops work for me. What has worked so fad is lying down, relaxing my muscles and then inserting the cup in a C fold.

We are not doctors but in the cases where we have heard this I've advised people it could be pressing on a nerve. Again- not medical advice but something to consider.
@@PutACupInIt Thanks
This same thing happened to me....I had to take it out and reposition it...I have IBS and i think my cup was applying too much pressure
Thank you.... for the tips
@@PutACupInIt Thanks for your help! 🙏🏼
I find a lot of the sizes is on the age ... but really I'm 22 but I'm completely virgin does that still count on my age? or what I'm still concerned
The lily cup is definitely longer, and the grips are more pronounced as well
Flex cup has a pull tab, hard to describe
I'm considering converting to using menstrual cups since I've noticed I've been spending too much on pads and tampons, I searched it up but there's this short cup version, long cup version, wider cup version I'm confused and anxious on what to choose¿ I don't exactly know what I am and I'm scared if I back out now I'll never get the chance to change lol, so any tips or advice on how to know what cup fits you best?
We developed our quiz to help make it easier to find one that fits your body and lifestyle. I would start there: putacupinit.com/quiz
@@PutACupInIt thank you! I got Lily Cup as a result and am willing to try it, I'm currently browsing for one rn online thanks for the advice 💖
So glad that helped!
My cup tilts and leaks, maybe I need a wider cup? My cramps seem to worsen when I use a cup but I'm not 100% sure the cup was the cause.
Same heree
I bought a lot of cups :( my final one was Ruby cup Small. Fits comfortably right now. is cramping normal? maybe I'm getting used to it. I want to know if this is truly the right size for me. any suggestions?
just found your channel and wish I had found it earlier!!
Glad you found us! We have a lot of information on our blog as well if you need something we haven't covered in a video yet :)
Same here
If the cup is really long and I cut the whole stem, isn't it worse? What if I can't reach it?
You don't have to cut the stem and it's best to wait until you try with it to see how it goes. If you need to for comfort reasons but the cup is higher than you can reach at times you can bear down with your muscles to push the cup low enough to reach (like having a bowel movement) putacupinit.com/removal
Leaked so bad last night! I put it in and it feels comfortable but I don’t here a pop or suction. I do check to see if my cervix is on the inside though. I am wondering if checking is losing the suction! Help :)
You won't always be able to hear or feel when the cup is open- what cup are you using? Firmer cups open and seal better than softer cups so if you have a softer cup you may want to look at our folds video for one that works better for softer cups such as the labia fold, punch down, or origami.
i just feel as though it does fit just right.. its too big and uncomfortable :(
I’ve been using the cup and I find that it works most of the time, sadly whenever it gets towards the end of the day I find that I start spotting and I’m not sure what that means???
It’s normal to have to empty the cup out more on heavier days.
My menstrual cup stem fully go inside any problem for that.... I used newly
None at all. Placement varies from person to person based on your anatomy and what’s comfortable for you. As long as it works for you there is no wrong way 💛
PLEASE HELP! I have the smallest size cup and it wont fit, I can't get it in the hole no matter the fold i do. Does that mean a cup isnt for me?
Are you getting tense and anxious? The first few times I used the cup it definitely was difficult to insert it. It helped me to stop, relax, and try again. You can also use some water based lubricants to help you insert your cup easier!
@@sugarushhhh Thank you! I did try all of these things but I truly just don't think the size of the smallest cup size is small enough for me. Thank you so much though!
Did you insert your finger and check the cervix height? In one of the videos I had heard that if you can't insert your finger then cup isn't for you.
Hey please help me, i tried many folds, in many ways with many tricks. But my cup is not opening up.Does larger diameter of a cup affects ? because i feel my vaginal muscles are extra tight that it prevents my cup to open up in any condition.I don't want to go back to pads again.please help me out🙏😭
My cup leaks just a drop.
It is fit inside but is it too smal for me that is why it leaks?
the stick is inside so i dont feel it..
Probably I m facing the same. This is because of the air pocket in the empty cup when it is just inserted. The blood replaces the air which comes out from vagina along with a little amount of blood. It becomes worse if I keep my cup inside for more than 7 hrs
What about menstrual cups that don't want to open when inserting?
Dulce Castro try a different fold technique
Try pulling it down (outwards) after you have the cup in, this should help the cup to pop open, once it's open, simply push it back up inside
If you can easily pull it down and push it back up, then doesn’t that mean it’s not suctioned correctly?
How much of the stem should be visible or felt normally, please help
I feel like I'm putting it in too far because I'm having a dull ache constantly! I have a low cervix and I try my best to keep it low but my PC muscles pull it right back up to where the rim is hitting my cervix.
I have a disability which causes me to not have good balance. Are there other ways to insert besides having one leg up?
Chapter Bi Chapter I typically just squat a little.
Or just sit down on the toilet with legs spread wide if possible ❤️
Does the cup work on a tilted uterus?
Chatterbox world I’m no expert, but I remember reading reading in I think the DivaCup faq that it does and you just have to adjust the way you put it in.
Thank you!
Chatterbox world you’re welcome :) good luck!
Which types of infections in i
My cup doesn't go in half way
What to do if cup size go small.... Plzzzz can u tell
If the cup is too small? If a cup you buy is too small it will slide down and not stay in place.
How far up there should the cup be?
It should go in to where you are comfortable... and that often depends on the location of your cervix. It can only go as high as the cervix will allow but if you have a high cervix you can wear it lower than it CAN go as long as all of the cup, stem included is inside. If the cup is too long you will want to trim the stem down.
Put A Cup In It thank you so much!
I put my cup all the way up and it goes down by it’s own.. does someone knows whyy?? Help .. its the second time trying it... also it tilts to the right side.. helpppp
Tesa Glezz did you measure your cervix because you may have a low cervix
Saalt small: Kept leaking because I have freakishly strong pelvic muscles
Yuuki classic: Keeps leaking on heavy days
Thanks for the reviews! I find that cups do leak on heavy days but its normal to have to empty cups more on heavy days. And if you have a strong pelvic floor maybe firmer cups will help you.
For some reason i can't wear my cup at night i lay on my stomach and i wake up a mess
SAME!! WHY!!?? :(
tips for making cup open
Hold it like an E and push it up folded like this as far as possible then it opens up by itself
Mam my cup is not open I tried lots of time plz tell me what I do
Don't give up yet, it can take many trials and errors. Try different folds and placing your body in different positions. We like the punchdown fold or labia fold since you have a nub you can push on to help it open.
I liked the video, I don't understand English, can I speak Hindi? 💔😔
U both r beautiful and I enjoyed every moment of watching u guys.... @
Aww, well thank you ❤️
Can i have this mestrual cup for free pls :(
Who here has more experience giving birth than pooping?
Cups can be so frustrating
WTF!!!
It's scary😱😱😱
