  • Members of the EMBL community kick off a special series of Coffee with EMBL sessions celebrating EMBL's remarkable journey over the past five decades in 2024, EMBL's 50th anniversary year. In this first session, we looked back on the 1970s and 1980s - a pivotal period that laid the foundation of present-day EMBL. Together with a panel of alumni guest speakers who worked at EMBL during the 70s and 80s, we reminisced about the unforgettable memories, significant milestones and groundbreaking discoveries that defined EMBL's formative years.
