    I loved and enjoyed this game as a kid in the 90s, and still love it today in 2022. The only problem with this game is it's so easy to die when you come in contact with an enemy because Bubsy moves too fast, but the levels are colorful and fun. Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo games never get old to me. They were some of the best video game consoles with great games. Graphics don't matter to me when it comes to loving older video games.

      The 8 and 16 bit era's were IMO the best of the best when it came to vide games, they taught hand eye coordination, and thinking skills, with a few mindless games thrown in. I also think the same of the early Golden Age of Arcades in the early to mid 80's.

      @klaymodopostoffice9885I know! the reviewers in their disgusting and shameful adulthood go and make shitty videos and reviews just to let the world know how bad the game is that they don't even know how to play (especially Jontron!), damn the bastard who started all this "Sonic rip-off!!!! Awesome game, great playing as always, AL 82! Bubsy is better than his reputation. I made the music for "Bubsy The Woolies Strike Back" btw :)

    • @RaptureMusicOfficial
      @RaptureMusicOfficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Klaymodo Post Office Thanks for your reply! I did my best for this soundtrack. And I really dislike these childish Meme's and the hatred that Bubsy gets especially online. The Woolies Strike Back is a decent game. A bit short, but good fun. Nobody should compare it with Bubsy 3D or anything else. The games stand for themselves and should be rated and reviewed accordingly. But I'm very happy that you like my soundtrack, thanks again mate! Cheers!

    • @RaptureMusicOfficial
      @RaptureMusicOfficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Klaymodo Post Office Yes, there are many American, European and Japanese legendary 8bit/16bit game composers, like Koji Kondo, Yuzo Koshiro, Chris Hülsbeck, Rob Hubbard, Martin Galway, Tim Follin etc
      Yes, The Woolies Strike Back could have been much better, it's just the Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams engine reused.

    • @RaptureMusicOfficial
      @RaptureMusicOfficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Klaymodo Post Office I think Koji Kondo is much better than the overrated Nobuo Uematsu. Never liked RPG games like Final Fantasy and his music is so-so in my opinion. Hiroki Kikuta is amazing for his soundtrack for Secret of Mana on the SNES. It's one of the best games of all times. But so is Zelda 3 on SNES (Koji Kondo OST).
      Yes, you're right, Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's Island had a very short soundtrack, for example.

    • @RaptureMusicOfficial
      @RaptureMusicOfficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Klaymodo Post Office Hehe, you gotta point there. Yes, but the first dungeon music on Zelda 3.... is pure magic. It made me fall in eternal love with the game. Superbly composed. So mystical, a bit melancholic, too. The second one is annoying a bit. And yes, I remember reading German Game Mag reviews of Yoshis Island in 1995 as said, and the main criticism was, "only 5 tunes for such a big game? Come on!" and that made me think, Ok yes, that's correct indeed! The music in Zelda Ocarina of Time is longer, more and more varied too. Links Awakening is a great game as well, some tear-jearking songs in it, too, that sad in-house theme for example. it's the 2nd best Zelda game after Ocarina and Twilight Princess. Mask of Majora was very annoying with its time limit. I hate time limits in most games!

    • @RaptureMusicOfficial
      @RaptureMusicOfficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Klaymodo Post Office Hehe, yeah, it depends if the producer or the audio director of a game just wants a 1 minute looped audio. It's out of my control/influence to insert a longer track into the game then! :) Hope you listen to more of my music, I certainly did longer tracks than Kondo :D

      Music isn't bad at all but the use of the Genesis soundchip is pretty lackluster in most of the levels. Physics are also weird sometimes and the level design can be very cheap, especially near the end, but overall it's not as bad as everyone says it is. It's a decent game.

    I remember playing this game as a kid. It tried to be fast as Sonic but with its own personality. Well, it kind of did it, but the difficulty got frustrating after some levels. The music is pretty catchy but the sound driver programming of this Genesis version was pretty much in the level of most Genesis games - in other words, they don't sound great. Great sound in Genesis was possible but only if you explored the sound chips to their limits and were willing to program for it. Overall, it was a fun game anyway. Thanks for sharing.

      @klaymodopostoffice9885Well! whatever you say that the genesis is better than the snes the SNES version will always be the better than the sega genesis version because not only because the SNES has the more advanced graphics and the better music and the clearer voice than the genesis but also because the genesis version has instruments as if they were playing an accordion and has some object sprites that are missing some pixels like the shoe that kicks you on the first level, in fact on the SNES they solved that sprite problem and made it more detailed! both versions of the game are colorful but the genesis version has the brighter light, but what you said before about there being more extra items in the genesis version is true, in fact I love both versions too!

    This game, in all honesty... Not very well made. I see the intent and passion behind the creator and I appreciate that very much. But execution was a bit rough in all areas. You have to really tell yourself "the controls aren't awkward.. I can enjoy this" but they're awful. The map designs and layout were both pretty sub par visual design and ill fated with difficult obstacles that were beyond reasonable in the later levels. I actually just beat this game (for the SNES) two nights ago and it took me several tries to get it right and collect enough 1-up shirts to make it to the end.
    I wish the game was more fleshed out with a better art design team and level developers. Also for some reason, I find this game plays better on the Genesis than it does on the Super NES port. Not sure if it has anything to do with the fact that the game was put together first for the Genesis before it made its way to the SNES. I also prefer the Genesis music in one of the two western levels bgm. Its ear bleeding bad on the SNES. lol
    I original bought this game when I was 16 and I thought I liked it a lot back then. But I may have fallen into the hype trap, since the game had an impressive amount of advertisement and review coverage which received many accolades (see what I did there? :P) except in EGM magazines. The best thing about this game is the box art, manual comic book illustrations and the development stories by Mike, the creator himself. It is a nostalgic gem. I will give it that. But definitely not for the faint of heart. No sir.

    Looking at this after owning and playing a copy for the Genesis, I'm honestly glad I never beat this one in my youth.
    Everything about this game is, in my personal opinion, God awful and grossly overrated tripe. Bubsy is nothing more than a trend chaser that lacks any understanding about what made Sonic and Mario so iconic and beloved.
    Outside lame one-liners and dated catchphrases, Bubsy possesses zero personality. Whereas Sonic had a big personality and character right out of the gate AND Sonic NEVER had to talk to convey any of it.
    The slippery controls, obnoxious level scale/design, agonizingly repetitive soundtrack, boring enemies/bosses and idiotic mechanics, make for a title that I would rather see cast into a dark pit and permanently forgotten.

      This game is *far* from overrated. With all of the unwarranted nitpicking it gets i’d say it’s more underrated. Played it when i was younger, and i enjoyed almost any retro platformer i could get my hands on. Just the same tired criticism this game always receives lmao

      The fact that this sorry excuse for piss receives such thorough and consistent panning ought to be rather damning to you.
      But by all means, please explain how Bubsy is merely "underrated." *_And be specific._* Your comment falls woefully short compared to my critique.
