I think a lot of people don't understand that the iMom was confused. She is not evil and did not intend to kill the baby. In the beginning, the mom kisses the baby and refers to it as "my little chicken." Later, as the iMom lays down the baby she also calls it "my little chicken," but upon doing this she unintentionally recalculates the situation and now thinks the baby is the "chicken" she is supposed to prepare for dinner, thus switching out the two leaving a morbid surprise for the mother to come home to.
She was all good until she lost wifi connection... Notice how she was about to say 'little chicken' to Grace and that's where things began to go wrong without us realising until the end.
I caught on, I thought "oh no" the minute the TV flashed to cutting up a chicken and then the baby and the mom saying "make sure to prepare the chicken" or whatever she said

It was just too much for me 'cause for me it was going towards that conclusion from that very moment. Such things are more horrifying than many horror/thriller movies out there...

sORRy, Omeleto, but i totally disagree with this religion inspired (So this is the mom's fault for calling the baby 'my little chicken.', like Eva) disgusting movie! this is totally ABSURD!!! It's been proven that computers make 1000 times less errors than ppl. It very very rarely happens that ppl go crazy like in this movie: is it reason enough to not use a nanny? of course not, but if a robot commits the same crime (1000 less often, which actually means never, and only in absurd movies like yours), all robots must be destroyed. All u do is creating panic.

The wolf in sheep clothing and stuff I wasn't much for, I get it, but it's a machine in this story, not an AI. But an error is exactly what I fear from a machine of this size and capacity. I have problems with my stationary computer, it can get viruses and malfunctions, just imagine what a human sized, strong robot could do with a virus or error. It could cook a baby.

The couple at 4:14 are such good actors. Even before the expostion, you can feel this silent tension. The little nod that she does feels like forced self-reassurance.
The twist wasn't hard to guess if you heard the mom's chicken line. But I was blown away by the Bible analogy. I thought the robot would obviously be the wolf in sheep's clothing. Making her the fruit was so much better because then you ask yourself, who then is the wolf in sheep's clothing? It's the boy's parents. It's the greedy company that would sell something like this without considering ethics. It's the society itself that's stopped caring about the sheep (children) in it's care. The robot cannot feel love. Everyone knew this, yet everyone decided to pretend this crucial fact didn't matter. What happened to the baby was simply the consequence of their choice to believe in falsehood for the sake of convenience
I thought she would kill Sam,but she killed the baby. The Imom killed the baby because the mother said cook the chicken. But the mother calls her baby my little chicken. There for the Imom thought she meant cook the baby because the mom calls the baby my little chicken. That's why you don't use robots to do your jobs there could be malfunctions and misunderstandings.
But in truth this is one of the first problems an engineer working on something like this would address. There's no way it would make it to market with this kind of problem. But it might have some other less obvious problems.
I don't know why, but this film has a really sad, eerie feel to it. Human connections being replaced by artificial intelligence is just such a sad and scary concept to me.

Hey guys if you don't get it. At the beginning the real mum said 'My little chicken' to the baby which got the iMom confused. Then later the iMom said that she was the fruit of society. And since society is imperfect, so is she. Thus the baby was cooked.

This clip was so eye opening and showed the vices of human error. The robot didn't make a mistake, it only followed instructions. The acting was sublime. Why can't movies be of this standard instead of pushing polical and social agendas.

i think its possible. There is a saying in the computer world, GIGO. 'Garbage in, garbage out. The machine can only do as well as the information it receives. If the programmer enters code that says if the 3rd digit of a SS# is even, do this....if its odd do that... congratulations! you have just created a racist robot.. (a certain digit of the SS# represents your race or ethnicity) I say that but it is not actually true; the robot is not an evil racist....it's only following the instructions it was given.. Obviously this is a rudimentary example. but it demonstrates my point.
Yaydude123 yes, and a very complex one at that...organic brains have the ability to literally rewire and change the programming on the fly. controlling a myriad of advanced chemical reactions to produce fuel for the cells out of many different substances, control our physical behavior and desires, interpret sensory information as well as having the ability to alter shape and regenerate portions of its physical presence among many other impressive feats controlled from the brain. while we know of the building blocks, we cannot produce a living self sustaining creature outside of using the natural starting system (science has advanced far enough to grow some living organs in labs) we cannot yet build a system that is even close to the capabilities of a brain, however..we are getting close to allowing a system to rewrite its own code around some sort of core root, a rudimentary form of learning.

For those who didn't understand, the imom basically cooked grace, the second child who was an infant because the mother had earlier called her "my little chicken" and had previously given instructions to imom that she was to cook the chicken. The whole video revolves around the concept of corruption through replacing humans with artificial intelligence. The imom is not necessarily evil, as pointed out in a conversation between the Sam and imom, Sam is the sheep(innocent) and the imom is not the wolf (evil). Same is the sheep because he is a child who is oblivious and naive. The imom really is neither because the wolf is the mom, who bought into the world of technology and artificial intelligence, and the humans who created, and sponsor it. The imom is just a product who knows neither good nor bad and ended up doing evil (killing baby) but it was from humanity's sin of relying so much on robots. I see this as a reflection as when Eve was tricked by the snake and bought into the evils and sin by eating the fruit from the forbidden tree. She persuaded Adam to eat it and eventually both were kicked out of eden. The snake are the humans promoting technology that replaces humans, and, eve is the imom and adam is sam. Again, this is how I interpreted this video, feel free to disagree because there can be multiple perspectives and meaning of a story. I've watched a fair few of your film now and my god am i entertained!!!! Making my way through the scifi playlist obviously starting with this film and im honestly so hyped to watch more it's untrue! Great work all around!
As a heavy consumer of horror and sci-fi media the destination wasn't necessarily a surprise, expected even, but the journey getting there was fantastic. Excellent work from the actors and all involved.
This is the most original and pragmatic portrayal of the android conundrum I have seen, by far. Instead of going down the robot trope lane and asking what if machines decide to think for themselves, you explored the more mundane but likely scenario of a very specfic system error having terrible consequences for us users and made us think in a more relatable way about the power that we gradually surrender to technology in exchange for convenience. Both the writing and the performances were stellar. Your entire work exudes talent. This is imho, better than 90% of all tv series and big screen movies from the last 30 years that have touched on the subject in any serious way. I appreciate what you do.
You got it. Others seem not to have grasped the concept. Even if the imom had artificial intelligence, there are still the 3 basic laws that all androids/robots have to abide by, most people know what they are. Even a machine with AI can still be corrupted by a severe storm, which is what happened as far as I can see. I really like your point of view on this.
I saw that ending coming almost immediately, and it made watching it so much worse. Watching it turn and get weirder and darker, and knowing exactly what the last shot would be. Terrifying.
The robot in the shape of a beautiful woman appears to have empathy and appears to do its duty and obey the real mother as a proper caregiver. But we do not know what the robot is really thinking. There are several parables told in the story one being about the tree that brings forth good fruit and the tree that brings forth bad fruit. There are hidden messages here and the film is beautifully told and acted out.
Moral of the story: don't have kids if you think raising them is too hard

Hey guys if you don't get it. At the beginning the real mum said 'My little chicken' to the baby which got the iMom confused. Then later the iMom said that she was the fruit of society. And since society is imperfect, so is she. Thus the baby was cooked.

This clip was so eye opening and showed the vices of human error. The robot didn't make a mistake, it only followed instructions. The acting was sublime. Why can't movies be of this standard instead of pushing polical and social agendas.
Saw the ending coming a mile away, but I love the way the interview parts were layered in with the story parts. Very effective.

For those who didn't understand, the imom basically cooked grace, the second child who was an infant because the mother had earlier called her "my little chicken" and had previously given instructions to imom that she was to cook the chicken. The whole video revolves around the concept of corruption through replacing humans with artificial intelligence. The imom is not necessarily evil, as pointed out in a conversation between the Sam and imom, Sam is the sheep(innocent) and the imom is not the wolf (evil). Same is the sheep because he is a child who is oblivious and naive. The imom really is neither because the wolf is the mom, who bought into the world of technology and artificial intelligence, and the humans who created, and sponsor it. The imom is just a product who knows neither good nor bad and ended up doing evil (killing baby) but it was from humanity's sin of relying so much on robots. I see this as a reflection as when Eve was tricked by the snake and bought into the evils and sin by eating the fruit from the forbidden tree. She persuaded Adam to eat it and eventually both were kicked out of eden. The snake are the humans promoting technology that replaces humans, and, eve is the imom and adam is sam. Again, this is how I interpreted this video, feel free to disagree because there can be multiple perspectives and meaning of a story.
EDIT: people are pointing out that imom is the fruit which is a better argument and makes more sense. Thank you for contributions to help the understanding of the video :)

@@yeon1573 Listen to the last statement -- the iMom is simply a fruit of the tree. The parents treated the chicken with care more than the baby, and even calling the baby as a chicken, the robot adapted to this during the electrical interruption.

As a heavy consumer of horror and sci-fi media the destination wasn't necessarily a surprise, expected even, but the journey getting there was fantastic. Excellent work from the actors and all involved.

This is the most original and pragmatic portrayal of the android conundrum I have seen, by far. Instead of going down the robot trope lane and asking what if machines decide to think for themselves, you explored the more mundane but likely scenario of a very specfic system error having terrible consequences for us users and made us think in a more relatable way about the power that we gradually surrender to technology in exchange for convenience. Both the writing and the performances were stellar. Your entire work exudes talent. This is imho, better than 90% of all tv series and big screen movies from the last 30 years that have touched on the subject in any serious way. I appreciate what you do.

Even if the imom had artificial intelligence, there are still the 3 basic laws that all androids/robots have to abide by, most people know what they are. Even a machine with AI can still be corrupted by a severe storm, which is what happened as far as I can see. I really like your point of view on this.

I saw that ending coming almost immediately, and it made watching it so much worse. Watching it turn and get weirder and darker, and knowing exactly what the last shot would be. Terrifying.
The robot in the shape of a beautiful woman appears to have empathy and appears to do its duty and obey the real mother as a proper caregiver. But we do not know what the robot is really thinking. There are several parables told in the story one being about the tree that brings forth good fruit and the tree that brings forth bad fruit. There are hidden messages here and the film is beautifully told and acted out.
