Don't haul a tool bag with over 20lbs. Anything more, get some sort of rolling cart.
Don't carry a tool belt with anything more than an electric screwdriver, a couple of screwdrivers, your linesman, a tape measure, and the utility knife. Nothing more. No suspenders. Don't put weight on your back.
BTW, to hell with the "tool list", your back is your life - GET A CART!!!!!

Hope your return to work has gone well since this happened! Back injuries can be a scary thing - I started "throwing out" my back as early as my teen's. That combined with my dad also having back problems (similar to your grandfather) is what eventually led me to becoming a physical therapist actually.
Just know and trust that the human spine is incredibly resilient. Just because you've injured your back once doesn't mean you're doomed to have a "bad back" forever. Hope you've been able to get back to squatting!

@@RuggedRehabandPerformance Thanks Brother I appreciate the advice. It was extremely scary when it happened and I had to get over the fear of injuring my back again. All in all it’s going a lot better and just trying to be safe out there. Thanks for the advice & Support!👍🏽

Speedy recovery!! Also you might want hit abs last, especially on days you do squat or deadlift. If your core is tired you're more likely to get injured

You know my doctor said the same thing, But I hate Abs that’s why I do them first to get it over with. But I think you’re right! Thanks for the support Brother..🙏🏽
