    Hey Dan
    Quick question do you turn on sprinklers systems for spring for your customers? If not what do you tell people when they ask you to. I feel I'm leaving a lot of money on the table if I say no but I always seem to find myself struggling to find valves and successfully turning the irrigation on.

    good informative vid. having trouble string trimming my bluegrass to match my mowing height of 3 inches. the string seems to blow the grass over, and wont cot until I lower the string. its all or nothing, it cuts to 1 1/2. the string will only cut on the outside edge right? so do you keep the string level with the ground or tip it slightly? slowing my rpms seemsto help some but would appreciate help thanks

    great video dan. i have a quick question for you concerning edgers if you don't mind.
    I've never used a dedicated edger, so I am wondering if an edger still runs the same risk of throwing rocks and thus breaking windows etc? Thanks as always, mower 68.

    • @KylesLawnCare

    • @DansVlog

    Dan, I watch a lot of vids to try to learn new ways to improve my weadeater skills and in all fairness, there's not many on here who can match your work with the eater. Thanks for all the uploads, very helpful, I've learnt loads from your vids. Only thing I haven't found an answer for is how to deal with the patchy, wafer thin grassed lawns that I've been plagued with this year where, even using .80 thou line, the air being moved by the string bends the feeble grass over before the string can cut it. Seemingly my only options are to cut it either really low or try a thinner line, which then gives me a pain when edging. Any thoughts? Cheers

    • @DansVlog
      @DansVlog  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ft goggi Dude, ya win some, ya lose some. There will always be slow downs but what Ibused to do is keep a spare spool lined up with .065 for crazy stuff. If ya got a yard or 3 you know ya got to mess with thin weak grass, throw the spare spool on then out the .080 back on to edge or edge first... however you do it

      Look into split shaft units like my Stihl KM 90 Kombi. You can weedeat then switch attachments and edge and add a lot more tools like hedge trimmers as you grow

      You can order ethanol blockers and use that with regular pump gas that has ethanol with much of the same results as Marine gas. Look up ethanol blocker or gas/fuel treatment

    When you were mowing full time did you edge every yard even if the customer didn't request it?

    • @DansVlog
      @DansVlog  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jonboy's Lawn Service I had 1 client that only wanted me to mow it only. Everyone else expected cut, edge and trim

    • @jonboysprowash7845
      @jonboysprowash7845 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks most of mine doesn't even know what edging is but if I did it I know how much better they would look. So I debate to spend the extra time to do it or not on a lot of properties

    Maaaate.
    The only area on that lawn which should be flat whipped is around the trees...learn how to straight edge it...then mow, without scalping right beside the driveway, then blow, then spray, then get paid and go.
