Hello! Yes each square is a stitch. My stitches were half double crochet. Your blanket will turn out taller since you’re doing double crochets. I hope you enjoy making yours as much as I enjoyed making mine.😀

this is beautiful. Would you be willing to do a tutorial on how to make this blanket. i find it hard to read and do the corner to corner patters. If you can not do a tutorial can you explain how to read a corner to corner pattern or even translate it to sing the hdc or dc? Thanks in advance
Hi Michelle, I'll be glad to do a tutorial to help you get started using hdc or dc and maybe a c2c. It may be a few days though since I also teach piano and the next few days are packed. But since it is a purchased pattern I will only be able to help you get started and how to change colors. :)
Jeanne Beverly I’m so glad you like it!! It used less yarn than I thought it would. I’m pretty sure it only too 1 skein of red, cranberry, black and yellow. I think I used 2 skeins of neon blue.
